A big of backend maintenance for Destiny 2 today has thrown some errors out at quite a few players. If you are struggling to log on to enjoy your last bit of Destiny 2 before Shadowkeep lands, have no fear, you are not alone.
Destiny 2 Server Status - Stuck On Signing In Message When Trying To Log On Fix
According to Bungie's server status checker, the servers were not expected to go down. It seems they have not. Instead, the problem appears to be stemming from the servers failing to pass people from the log on servers to the game servers. If you are stuck on a "Signing On" screen, then have no fear, Bungie is aware of the issue and has a quick fix recommendation.
Players who are indefinitely stuck on a “Signing In…” screen are recommended to fully restart their game and try logging in again.

All you need to do is fully restart the game and try again. Hopefully, it will fix the issue for you. If not, then I would advise you to report the problem to Bungie via the link in the tweet.
As we get closer to Shadowkeep, and a mass migration of the game from the Blizzard App to Steam, I expect to see a few more problems like this occur over the weekend. Sadly, I think it only makes sense to expect them on launch day as well.
Even if the servers work correctly, there will probably be a total mass of people trying to get into the servers. We might have log-in delays, and massive queues to sit through. All you can do is sit tight and wait for the problem to resolve itself. It's going to continue into the launch of Shadowkeep because the problem is with the servers.
