On my seemingly endless quest to bring you every possible updated guide we have on Minecraft, I find myself staring into the malaise that is Minecraft Aventure Maps. Let's face it here, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of the bloody things to choose from so it's quite the Herculian task that this writer finds himself about to take on.
Now I could list the 10 Best that I've come across, but I feel like you deserve a little more than that, so in a change of pace, I've decided to go the all-seeing Oracle on this subject, Minecraft Maps. This unbelievably handy source has rated the top 100 Adventure Maps that you can download for Mojang's beloved game, and today I'll be bringing you the cream of the crop, the ones that you need.
The 10 Best Minecraft Adventure Maps
Terra Restore 2
Terra Restore 2 is the most popular, and therefore the best, Minecraft Adventure Map ever created. It has between 11 - 14 hours of fresh new gameplay, can be completed solo or with up to four other people, and can be as easy or as difficult as you like. Its fantasy story includes boss fights and challenges and a whole host of other bits and pieces for you to get your teeth into. Inspired by the likes of Zelda and World of Warcraft, Terra Restore 2 is a thing of beauty.
Soulbound
The Soulbound Adventure map is, regardless of the photo proceeding, this entry, a dark and foreboding place. It's a two-player co-op, so if you want to experience it, then you'll need to have a friend handy, but when you do, you'll get an episodic story with between 7 - 10 hours of runtime and four very epic boss battles.
Assassin Of Steve 3
That pesky Assassin Of Steve has escaped once more with a relic that he plans to use to end the world, and it's up to you and your ragtag group of friends to stop him before he does so. Another map you can play with up to four other people, the Assassin Of Steve 3 will give you between 16 - 20 hours of gameplay, and that's worth the free price of admission alone.
Payday 2 Endgame
Doing a far better job than OVERKILL Software ever did in giving us the Payday sequel we wanted, Payday 2 Endgame boasts seven playable heists, along with custom mobs and a load of achievement, as well as item hops, custom sounds that go pew-pew, and the usual one to four-player ability.
Across The Time
Across The Time clocks in at nearly 30 hours, which means that it's an entirely brand new game for free, and who doesn't love free stuff? It's also a full-on fantasy RPG, so that should have a fair few of you drooling the prospect of playing this map, with thousands of monsters to fight and quests, both main and secondary, up the wazoo.
Manitu's Quest Ultimate Edition
If the idea of playing a map that is loosely based on a German Wild West Comedy doesn't fill your heart with glee, then don't worry, there's a lot more to this than some obscure TV show that no-one outside of Germany's ever heard of. You start in an abandoned Apache camp, and you have to get your blocky butt back to civilization without dying, which isn't as easy as it sounds. Manitu's Quest is remarkably in-depth and should have you toiling away for a lot of hours.
Time Loop
Everything you choose to do in Time Loop effects your game. There are over 100 unique choices that you have to make as you progress through this map, and each one will give you a different outcome. Maybe more of a visual novel feel to it than an actual Adventure Map; Time Loop is still a great way to while away the hours.
The Iron Rose
The Iron Rose is a story-driven, puzzle focused map that doesn't have anywhere as many rounds of fisty cuffs in it as some of the others in this guide, but that what makes it o good. It's a nice change of pace, and as the epic, sprawling tale is slowly revealed to you, you'll find it nigh on impossible not to find yourself becoming drawn in deeper and deeper.
Curse Of The Creltens
This solo experience will put you in the position to protect the Pelta Race from the insidious Creltens. It will also only take you about 45 minutes to an hour to do so, but even though it's only a short blast, it sure is a fun one.
The Barrow
Skyrim comes to Minecraft with The Barrow Adventure map. Join The Imperial legion and act like a self-righteous douche-bag in all the familiar settings like Helgen, Pinewatch, and the Embershard Mine. It's The Elder Scrolls, but not as we know it.
