Will Greedfall Have a Multiplayer Option?

An unexpected title coming out in less than a week is Greedfall. The game takes place in a fantasy world where settlers have found their way to a brand new island, full of monsters, magic, and plenty of mysteries. The action-adventure RPG is going to focus on a choice-based story, allowing players to determine the outcome and relationship of characters based on their choices. While players are going to remain focused on going through the twisting story, learning about the world around them, some are curious if there's going to a multiplayer option the game.

Does Greedfall have Multiplayer?

At the game's launch, there is currently no multiplayer options planned for the game. At this time, it's mainly going to focus on players going through the riveting story of a world filled with factions, characters, and decisive choices that the main character, the Diplomat, is going to need to make. Along the way, the Diplomat is going to have the opportunity to bring three other companion characters with them during their adventure.

In Greedfall, settlers have already arrived and established themselves on an exotic island. While the colonists are guests at the location, they happily stomp around as if they own the place and are superior to those already living there. It's a direct reflection of what happened during the 17th century when settlers arrived over from western Europe to North America. There's likely going to be a deep social commentary about what the Diplomat is going need to do to appease those they meet and having to choose a particular side when conflict arises.

Beyond the three companion characters to join the main protagonist, the developers, Spiders, do not plan to have multiple players in the same session. Greedfall feels like a throwback to a time where BioWare's heyday for Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Back then, BioWare was a story-based developer who focused on an engaging, critical story with choices that came with graphic and painful ramifications. Even though there's no multiplayer, fans can expect to engage with the numerous NPCs they encounter, along with doing battle with the many magical and fantastic creatures roaming the island.

You still have time to pre-order Greedfall. The game releases on Sept. 10, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Destiny 2 - How To Get The Visionary Emblem

The Visionary Emblem is back in Destiny 2, and grabbing it is super easy. This fetching black and yellow design is actually a celebration of a Destiny 2 DLC, and was put in the game to coincide with the release of a comic that tied in to the Curse of Osiris storyline. Well, two years or so after the initial release, it is back in the game and you can grab it if you want to add it to your Collection.

Destiny 2 - How To Get The Visionary Emblem

Visionary Emblem

Getting the emblem is really easy, just follow the below steps:

  • Go the to code redemption portion of Bungie.net
  • Insert the following code - XFVKHPN97

And that's it! Now, because I had the Emblem already I can't tell you where it will be in the game. The places to check before freaking out that it didn't work are:

  • Your Inventory
  • The Postmaster
  • The Vault
  • Your Collections under "Events"

It should definitely be in one of those four places if you got a confirmation from the site after putting in the code.

Remember, it is a busy time in the Destiny 2 world as the launch of Shadowkeep looms before us. Make sure you have your Cross Save all set up, and if you play on PC ensure that you are all set up for the move from Battle.net to Steam. You definitely want both of those to be ship-shape as soon as you can, but certainly before October 1 when the next chapter in Destiny 2 begins.

Hearthstone: Tombs of Terror Pre-orders LiveJeremy OwensTue, 09/03/2019 - 15:50

The Tombs of Terror pre-order bundle goes live today after a bit of a wait, with more details about what purchasing the bundle entails.

Much like the Dalaran Heist from the previous Rise of Shadows expansion, Tombs of terror is releasing in three phases. The first two chapters become available on Sept. 17, and the others are becoming available in one-week intervals from there (Chapter 3 on Sept. 24, and Chapter 4 and the Finale on Oct. 1).

Pre-ordering the bundle gets you full access to Tombs of Terror. The chapters come out together with a random Saviors of Uldum Legendary card and the League of Explorers card back. The bundle costs $19.99.

Beating each chapter also gives you three Saviors of Uldum card packs for each chapter completed, to a total of 15 (plus a Golden Classic pack for beating them all), so the value ends up being pretty good; $19.99 is the retail price for 15 card packs in any case.

The prices for purchasing the single-player content's chapters with in-game Gold is not yet listed. You can likely follow how Blizzard handled the Dalaran Heist for future pricing.

Destiny 2 - How To Get The Mountaintop

Destiny 2's update 2.5.2.2 has brought some changes to the quest for the Mountaintop, one of the best Grenade Launchers in the game. In this guide, we will run through how to get your hands on this absolute beast of a weapon. This quest used to be annoyingly difficult to get, but Bungie has reworked some of the numbers, making it more achievable for more players.

You will need to pick up the quest called Pursuit, The Ascent from Shaxx at the Tower.

Destiny 2 - How To Get The Mountaintop

Step 1

Reach the Glory Rank "Brave" within a Season.

Step 2

Complete the "In Pursuit of Honor" Triumph in the Competitive Playlist.

  • Final Blows With A Grenade Launcher - 750
  • Double Kills - 75
  • Calculated Trajectory Medals (Triple Kills) - 25
  • Points earned in Competitive has been further increased relative to other PVP modes
  • roughly 1x for Quickplay, 2x for IB, 3x for comp

Step 3

Achieve the Glory Rank of "Fabled."

Step 4

Hand in the quest to Shaxx at the Tower.

Remember, all the kills need to happen with a Grenade Launcher, so I would suggest finding one you like, and going with that. If you are genuinely struggling, go with the Colony, and let it do a lot of the work for you. Those little spiders mines will rack up plenty of kills, but doubles and triples might be a more difficult thing. It might even help to run a second Grenade Launcher in your loadout with the Colony, and use the other Launcher to mop up whatever is leftover.

I'm not exactly the kind of player to enforce honor rules in PvP modes, so do whatever gets you the kills. The good news is that the work you put in on the second step will help you get closer to the Fabled Rank you need. Because they reduced the numbers of kills you need, your team should also hate you less, or at least fewer teams will hate you as you should wrap this up a lot quicker than before the changes. You will, after all, need to play pretty selfishly to get this done, no matter what.

Best of luck, Guardian.

Astral Chain: How to Find the Cat Locations

Astral Chain: How to Find the Cat Locations

While your character in Astral Chain gets tasked with saving the world from an invasion of interdimensional demons, it doesn’t mean they can’t make time to rescue humble alley cats along the way. Scattered throughout the game are a bunch of stray cats that need your help. You can find one in each level (except for the epilogue, which has four), and collecting all of them gets you a unique hat, along with the affection of your new four-legged friends. We’ll run through the location of each cat by File.

File 01

The first cat you find is right out in the open; you need to know where to look. During File 01, you’ll get an objective to rescue a man on a burning highway bridge. When you find the man, look around for a bright yellow car amidst the burning wreckage. It should be between a flipped bus and a concrete barrier. This cat, named Kinder, is napping just in front of the car.

File 02

Near the end of the mission, you’ll be asked to protect a group of civilians on Grand Avenue. When that’s finished, you’ll have to look for survivors. Instead, go South from the objective marker, toward the end of the platform you’re standing on, and you should see an alleyway to your left. Head down the alley and use your Legion to lift and toss the dumpster at the end. You’ll find Walnut underneath.

File 03

After you finish a section of this mission that takes place in the Astral Chain, you’ll find yourself on a rooftop. Head to the Northeast corner of the roof and go down the stairs there, where you’ll find the third cat, Milky.

File 04

Downstairs from the spot where you find Jena in the Arc Mall, you’ll see a big chunk of debris next to the spiral staircase. Head around the stairs and to the other side of the debris to find a cat named Bran.

File 05

After receiving the objective to rescue civilians in the subway, starting from the yellow line platform of the Harmony Square subway station, head to the North of the map (the area will be highlighted for a side case if you haven’t completed it yet). From there, you can enter a subway car on the track to your right. Head through the train about halfway, and exit the door marked with a number 2. You’ll emerge onto a platform where you can find Smee the cat hiding under a bench.

File 06

While you’re pursuing Douglas for a mission objective, you’ll find Danny the cat hiding in some trash in a small corridor near the center of the most significant section on the west side of the map (Upper Camp Level - Building Four). This one can be a little tricky to find, but you can use your Iris to spot it a little easier.

File 07

This one takes a lot more maneuvering than everything else up to this point. While following the homunculus, you’ll eventually end up on the Rayleigh Plaza Roof map. Starting from the elevator bay, keep heading left past the helipad until you reach a point where you can enter a small passage between a low building on the right and a taller one on the left. On the side of that building is a yellow ladder, which you can shoot to bring down, then climb it. From the roof, use your Legion to hop to the taller building, then drop from the edge onto a platform where you’ll find the seventh cat, Nero.

File 08

Near the beginning of the level, you can enter an underground parking lot on Grand Avenue. Head inside, then stick to the right and go as far back as you can go. You’ll find an officer trying to get a cat out from under a car. Offer it some cat food, and your next cat, Chano, will join you.

File 09

Starting in Harmony Square, head south past the Harmony Media Center. To your left will be a row of red awnings, and you’ll find a cat called Mia near one of these awnings. When you approach Mia, she’ll jump backward, making her impossible to pick up. To collect Mia, you need to throw a can nearby, which will cause her to walk toward the sound. While Mia is distracted, you’ll be able to pick her up.

File 10

While you’re working to fix the broken gate detector, head to the Southeast end of the Lower Camp Level, where there’s a room that extends further down than anything else on the map. Talk to the Cat Lover you find there, and offer to help find Yuki, a cat she’s looking for. The Cat Lover will mark the places where Yuki likes to hide on your map.

Instead of checking them, head to the far Northeast of the map, where you’ll find the Cat Lover again in a blocked-off tunnel and acquire some catnip. Summon the Beast Legion and give it the catnip, then follow it as it runs after the scent. You’ll need to re-summon the Legion and show it the catnip again when it leads you up a ladder. Eventually, your Beast Legion will lead you to an area where you’ll need to enter the Astral Plane to rescue Yuki.

File 11

Finding Vanilla is a breeze after the challenge of the last few cats. Starting from where you emerge from the secret base on the Southwest side of the Lower Camp Level, head North up the alleyway on the far West side of the map. Climb the fire escape ladder you’ll see on your right and follow the walkway to the end to find the cat hiding in a cardboard box.

File 12 (R1-6)

You’ll find the first of the Epilogue cats in the Ark Sewer Management map. On the north side of the map, you’ll see a long hallway connecting two circular chambers. Just before the gate to reach that area is a corridor with a stack of cardboard boxes stacked up. You’ll find Nightshade in one of the boxes.

File 12 (R2-2)

The largest room on the ARI Legionis Lab is mostly inaccessible, only viewable through windows in the explorable portions. Enter the lobby of this room from the south side (from the room filled with large purple crystals), and you’ll find B.B. hiding under the desk farther to the left.

File 12 (R2-8)

On the south end of the Forgotten Rooftops map, you’ll find a ladder leading down in one of the metal pillars against the billboards on the right side. It blends in with the environment, but you’ll find it at the very end of the line of barbed wire on the roof’s edge. Dropdown here, and you’ll discover Theo under a tank just to your right.

File 12 (R2-B2)

Near the center of the Lower Camp Level map, in the alley on the west side, you’ll find a set of stairs leading up with a lot of red matter in the small area to the right of the stairs. At this end of this short path, you’ll see a dumpster. Use your Legion to pick it up, and you’ll find Amber behind it.

With that, you should have all 15 hidden cats in Astral Chain. You’ll get the Cat-Eared Headband just by finishing the order in your menu, and the Lazy Cat Cap by talking to Marie at Neuron headquarters.

The Best SNK Games

The Best SNK Games

Samurai Shodown
Misael DuranTue, 09/03/2019 - 16:58

When there was a potential leak going around suggesting that the fourth DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be from SNK, the common question from the average gamer was “What’s SNK?” It appeared that many players didn’t really know what SNK was, which upset many fans of Super Smash Bros. series. Fans didn’t want a character from a company they didn’t know appear in their favorite fighting game; they wanted someone like Master Chief, Sora, or the L-block from Tetris.

Personally I find it odd that so many people did not know what SNK was, especially since the company has been around for decades. They were one of the original arcade juggernauts, having created popular games like the Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury in the early 90s. They eventually found great success with their The King of Fighters series, which began in 1994.

SNK even created their own set video game hardware, inventing the Neo Geo line of merchandise. There were Neo Geo arcade cabinets, Neo Geo home consoles, and Neo Geo portable consoles. The Neo Geo were reasonably popular during the 90s before SNK stop production in the early 2000 when company was going through bankruptcy. Fortunately the company is still around today, recently having released The King of Fighters XIV in 2016, and a new Samurai Shodown that was release this year.

The Best SNK Games

We don’t know if the fourth DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be from a SNK game, despite what the leak may imply. However this whole leak has brought attention back to SNK, a company I personally really like. Since so many people appear to not know what SNK is, I feel like it is my obligation to list out the best SNK games that gamers can get their hands on. Rather than be salty that a character you never heard of potentially getting into Smash Bros., educate yourself. Play some of their games, and you may be surprise with what you find.

Honorable Mentions

First thing first though, I’ll go over the honorable mentions from SNK library. I wasn’t joking about how big the company was in the days of arcades, they literally created dozens of classic arcade fighting games. There are fourteen The King of the Fighters games, and most of them are pretty good and worth playing. The original Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury games are pretty dated, but worth checking out. The crossover the game, Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000, is really fun to play. It even has a pretty badass arcade flyer, yet it is now difficult to find a copy of the game.

My true honorable mentions goes to Rage of the Dragons, a fighting game released by SNK on the Neo Geo in 2002. The game acts like an homage to the classic Double Dragon arcade game, borrowing names and story elements from that iconic game. Rage of the Dragons is a twisted version of the Double Dragon, where the two leads failed in their initial mission years prior, and now take up street fighting. The player controls a team of two characters in each match, and you can swap between your two characters. The game’s aesthetic is great, and the cast of characters are enduing. The only reason why it isn’t in the main list is due to the fact that the game is almost impossible to play now. Unless you have a Neo Geo, good luck trying to play this game.

Metal Slug 3

Most of SNK’s popular lineup are fighting games. They invented several popular arcade fighting franchises, and several one-offs, so it makes sense that most of their best games are fighting based. Nonetheless, people tend to forget they were also the company that developed the Metal Slug series. Metal Slug is a run and shoot video game franchise that is similar to Contra, except you get to use tanks and even bigger guns. You also get to pick between four characters to play as.

There are several games in the Metal Slug franchise that would go nicely on this list. With that said, I think I’ll go with Metal Slug 3, which has the most polished gameplay mechanics and graphics of the original trilogy. Metal Slug 3 can be found in most modern consoles, including the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. It can be found under the Arcade Archives/ACA Neogeo brand.

Samurai Shodown V/Samurai Shodown (2019)

The Samurai Shodown is not a typical fighting game series. Rather than fight your opponents with your fists, you need to strike your enemies down with the blade of your sword. The franchise requires far more precision from players than other games, as you need to plan out when you should strike your opponent or not.

The general consensus is that Samurai Shodown V Special is the best game in the franchise, as many saw the game as perfecting certain elements in the previous entries in the series. However, if you wish to have something more contemporary, than this year’s Samurai Shodown isn’t a bad alternative. Samurai Shodown V Special has been ported digitally onto the Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. 2019’s Samurai Shodown is available to purchase on the same consoles as ported versions of V Special.

The King of Fighters XIII

This one was difficult to decide; The King of Fighters series has had many amazing titles throughout its run. In this series, you pick a team of three fighters. You select a specific order you want your fighters in, and face against another team of three fighters. After a fighter is defeated, the next one goes up against their opponent. You win by eliminating all three of your opponent’s fighters. General consensus is that The King of Fighters ’98 is the most popular game in the franchise, but at the same time I think the most recent entry, The King of Fighters XIV, is extremely fun to play.

Eventually I decided to go with number XIII for this list. Not only is the gameplay really solid, it is graphically the best looking game in the franchise. This is the last game SNK would use 2D pixelated art, and it look absolutely gorgeous in XIII. The character models are big and full of great detail, and animation is so very fluid. The King of Fighters XIII was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011.

The Last Blade 2

The Last Blade franchise shamefully only consists of two games, which is upsetting because the second entry in the franchise is one of the best fighting games that SNK has ever developed. The Last Blade 2 is similar to Samurai Shodown in that fighters uses weapons to attack rather than their fists. The main difference is that Last Blade requires less precision, and you are allowed to wail on your opponent with multiple slashes.

Not only is the gameplay in Last Blade 2 really solid, the game also looks beautiful. The re-release of the game on the PS4 looks especially amazing. The color and character animations are really impressive, and hold up extremely well. The re-release on the PS4 comes with a lot of bonuses, like concept art, and even offers online play. The Last Blade franchise may be gone at the moment, however don’t miss your opportunity to pick up the second game in series on the PS4. It is worth it, especially if you’re a fan of fighting games.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves

Garou: Mark of the Wolves is actually the last entry in the Fatal Fury fighting franchise. The Fatal Fury franchise stars the trucker-hat wearing Terry Bogard and his brother Andy, who both protect their hometown from the evil Geese Howard. Garou takes place years after Geese’s passing, with Terry taking care of Geese’s son Rock Howard.

Similar to Last Blade 2 and The King of Fighters XIII, Garou is an absolutely stunning game to behold. The characters feel lively, and the stages are rendered really well. The most important thing about the game is how well it plays, and a SNK fighting game has never felt better since Garou. The game can be too difficult at times, especially when facing against certain fighters. Nonetheless, it feels really polished and it is always a joy to play. All the playable characters feel unique, with each one offering their own gameplay styles. Garou is a serious contender to possibly be one of the best fighting games period.

Just like Last Blade 2, Garou had a re-release on the PS4. The re-release contains extra bonus content, like artwork, and updates the graphics a little. The re-release even offers online play. If you missed on Garou when it initially released on the Neo Geo in 2000, then you can still pick it up if you have a PS4. I highly recommend you do.

Teppen: The Day of Nightmares expansion is out nowCale MichaelTue, 09/03/2019 - 17:32

Teppen, Capcom’s action card game is rolling now with the release of The Day of Nightmares expansion, bringing 32 new cards to the mobile game.

Teppen launched quite suddenly after Capcom kept the project quiet and only released information about it roughly a month before launch. When the game went live in July, it quickly garnered an active player base.

Now The Day of Nightmares, Teppen’s first expansion is out, which gives each color getting eight new cards right at the start of the new competitive season. 32 cards is a relatively low number for a TCG expansion, but Capcom is working to make Teppen into a highly competitive experience with balanced gameplay.

Each of the cards has custom artwork and is themed off of a Capcom franchise, utilizing characters and other items from their long lineage of game making. This expansion is highlighted by a stellar looking Nash card for red decks and what looks like a robust Nemesis-T Type in black.

Nash TeppenNemesis Teppen

At a glance, it seems like black and green got the best cards from this expansion, at least before top players get a chance to lab new builds out. Black decks were rampant in the upper levels of ranked matches. Capcom will have a blast trying to balance that with the apparent boost these new cards provide specific builds.

Red and purple got some nice utility cards, and there is a lot of potential for some of these new pulls to shine later in the season.

With Capcom and GungHo working to launch Teppen as a competitive title soon, smaller expansions like this is an excellent way to keep things fresh.

Dave Bautista Joins Gears 5 on September 15Zack PalmTue, 09/03/2019 - 18:03

The hype for Gears 5 is revving up faster than the chainsaw at the end of a Lancer, but things have kicked into high gear. Not only are players going to get their chance to play the game later this week, but there's a new playable multiplayer character coming to the franchise: Dave Bautista.

The announcement came from Bautista's official Twitter account, which you can view below.

Many who have followed the Gears of War franchise are likely quite familiar with Bautista as he's been at the front lines of the franchise's movie. While production and development have been a nightmare, Bautista has been steadfast on the fact he should assume the role of Marcus Fenix, the main protagonist for the first three Gears of Wars games, and the main character in Gears of War 4 and Gears 5. However, there's been a little movement or solid direction for the movie, with no announcement or news from Bautista about his role. Despite this, the development team behind the game wanted to give the actor his well-deserved statue in the franchise. Now, everyone who plays Gears 5 is going to have the opportunity to play as the big guy himself in Gears 5 multiplayer mode. To grab Bautista, you do not need to purchase a particular version of the game. Instead, you only need to log in from Sept. 15 to unlock him. However, the promotion only lasts for a limited time and ends on Oct. 28.

If you're still interested in purchasing the game, you can pre-order it from one of the many options we have listed out on our pre-order guide. Gears 5 releases on Sept. 10 for the Xbox One and the PC. For those who grab the Ultimate version of the game, you can play a few days earlier on Sept.

Destiny 2 Patch 2.5.2.2 Makes the Mountaintop and Wendigo GL3 Easier to Earn, Larger Inventory SpaceZack PalmTue, 09/03/2019 - 18:35

Destiny 2 still has a solid month before the release of Shadowkeep, which is going to change how the game is played moving forward as Bungie assumes full publishing and developing responsibilities for the title. Following the end of the latest Iron Banner, Destiny 2's 2.5.2.2 patch is getting players ready to take on their new challenges by making some well-timed changes.

The pinnacle weapon quests for the Mountaintop and Wendigo GL3 are getting reduced to make both weapons easier to acquire. Now, players are going to have a much easier time adding these two guns to their collection, getting ready for Shadowkeep in proper fashion. Those new requirements are listed below with the rest of the notes.

Beyond the gun updates, there is a handful of quality of life changes in the game. For starters, the inventory has received a boost with players now able to hold even more stacks of particular tokens they may have earned from grinding various pieces of content. Previously, the limit for many of these tokens, like the Vanguard, Iron Banner, Gunsmith, etc., were set to 999. Now, that limit has gone up to 9,999. For players who showed up once a week to play the game, they may not entirely benefit. However, those who were regularly playing Destiny 2 nonstop are going to find so many tokens available; they may want to hold on to them until Shadowkeep drops on Oct. 1.

There are additional changes to the way the Reckoning functions, along with Braytech Schematics, which you can read in the full patch notes posted below. The 2.5.2.2 patch follows the ending of last week's Iron Banner event and welcomes the new Mars Community Event. The Community Event has players fighting back the dangerous hordes on the planet, particular the Hive, along with repeating a Nightfall and Strikes to take down the bosses featured on Mars.

Check out the full patch notes below, and get ready to play Destiny 2's Shadowkeep expansion on Oct. 1.

FIFA 20 FUT Icons: First Batch Of Ratings RevealedNeil GrayWed, 09/04/2019 - 05:50

Yesterday, the official EA Twitter account announced the first batch of ratings for the FUT Icons. This assortment of cards includes Zidane, Pirlo, and Ian Wright. With the game set to release on Sept. 24, it was only a matter of time before the developers began to amp up fans.

There are some genuinely mouth-watering prospects here. These cards sell for an extraordinary amount of money, and you can expect that getting hold of one is going to take either a lot of hard work, some knowledge of the transfer market, or some cold hard, real-life cash. Whatever way you have to go to realize this dream of owning the best of the best, there is no doubt that these Icons are worth every penny.

FIFA 20 Carlos Alberto

Carlos Alberto

OVR: 87-93

The 1970 World Cup-winning captain, and scorer of one of the most important team goals ever, clocks in at a very impressive 87-93 over his first three cards.

FIFA 20 Icon John Barnes

John Barnes

OVR: 86-89

The Liverpool legend and all-round terrible rapper is on the wrong end of the stick here as he doesn't break the 90 barriers and anyone who saw Barnes play in his heyday will tell you that he was quickly that good.

FIFA 20 Icons Kenny Dalglish

Kenny Dalglish

OVR: 87-92

Arguably the greatest player to ever pull on the Liverpool strip and easily the best to ever come out of Scotland, King Kenny is handed a rating to reflect that genius on the pitch.

FIFA 20 Icons Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba

OVR: 87-91

This detail may surprise you, coming as it does from a lifelong Liverpool fan, but I always had a soft spot for Drogba. He was just so deadly in front of goal that you'd be a fool not to appreciate his skill. I also think he's been slightly shortchanged here as well, as 89 should be the lowest rating he gets, not 87.

FIFA 20 Icons Michael Essien

Michael Essien

OVR: 85-90

It seems like only yesterday I was bringing you the news that Michael Essien was the newest member of the Icon family. Oh wait, it was. It was good to see I was correct on with my prediction for his overall stats.

FIFA 20 Icon Garrincha

Garrincha

OVR: 90-94

He was born in the 1930s and died less than 50 years later. During his time on this planet, Garrincha changed the world of football, making the Right-Wing position his own and setting the blueprint for future generations to come. This feat is all reflected in his overall's, as it bloody well should be.

FIFA 20 Icon Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola

OVR: 85-90

Before he became one of the greatest ever to patrol the touchline, Pep Guardiola was once one of the greatest Central Defensive Midfielder's to ever step onto the pitch. Now, hands up who's looking forward to having Pep manage Pep in their FUT?

FIFA 20 Icons Ronald Koeman

Ronald Koeman

OVR: 85-91

You know that you've achieved greatness in the sport if fans are still banging on about how you should've been sent off against England some 26 years after the game ended. The Dutch Destroyer is such a man and, that little snafu aside, his stats reflect just how good he was.

FIFA 20 Icons Andrea Pirlo

Andrea Pirlo

OVR: 88-92

When you could drop a football onto a fly's head from over 80 yards away, you didn't need to be able to run too fast. An 88-92 rating is more than fair for Pirlo who will be tearing opposition defenses part with pin-point accuracy come release day.

FIFA 20 Icons Ian Rush

Ian Rush

OVR: 87-91

Between 1980 and 1986 Ian Rush banged in 109 goals in 182 appearances for Liverpool. No matter how you cut it, that's a pretty impressive record.

Hugo Sanchez

Hugo Sanchez

OVR: 87-92

I must've missed a meeting here, how Hugo Sanchez is on the same level as Pirlo and one point higher than the likes of Rush and Drogba is beyond me.

FIFA 20 Icons Ian Wright

Ian Wright

OVR: 85-89

Everyone's favorite pundit that isn't called Neville or Carragher clocks in with an overall in the mid to high 80s. White amazes me if I'm to be honest but not as much as it surprised me to see Wrighty as even part of the Icons family.

FIFA 20 Icons Gianluca Zambrotta

Gianluca Zambrotta

OVR: 86-89

Gianluca Zambrotta's adaptability to be able to play on either flank of the backline means he's a must-have for your FUT squad if you can get him without having to sell your first-born.

FIFA 20 Icons Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane

OVR: 91-96

Current Real Madrid boss and all-around club legend, Zinedine Zidane quickly has the highest stats that are and will be available for any icon, with perhaps the exception of Pele and Maradona. The thing is, I think they're too low. Having seen Zidane in his prime, I would've put him easily at a 98. But then, that would probably break the game.

Plants Vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville Coming October 18, Priced $40Paolo SirioWed, 09/04/2019 - 08:51

Plants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville is on the way. Details about the game should be coming in about three hours (6:00 pm CET). There's going to be a brand new official gameplay trailer, which is going to share more details about how the title works and its release date.

According to a leak from Japan, we learn that the game is coming on October 18, 2019, priced at only $40. So it's not going the free-to-play route as someone might have guessed perhaps based on the other Plants vs. Zombies mobile products.

As for the game itself, there's a rumor the title is going to feature PvP battles similar to the previous two shooter games in the franchise. However, it's going to include 6v6 matches and not 12v12.

A retail listing had already shared that Battle for Neighborville would be coming Oct. 18, which is the same date of the leaked Nintendo Switch version for Overwatch. So that date could be legit, as well, and the shooter from Blizzard could get revealed in the upcoming Nintendo Direct.

We'll get more details and a press release when the trailer launches later today. Potentially, in three hours, but this is likely the most significant piece of information you'd want to learn about the latest Plants vs. Zombies Battle for Neighborville game.

Unannounced Splinter Cell "Tenth Release" Spotted At GameStopPaolo SirioWed, 09/04/2019 - 09:41

We've been waiting for a new Splinter Cell game for ages, and it doesn't look like there are many chances for a reveal anytime soon. However, GameStop doesn't seem to feel that way as it's hinting at a potential tenth iteration of the franchise coming out soon.

That hint is seemingly hidden, not so stealthily, in the product description of the Sam Fisher replica goggles. These are now available for pre-order on the official website of the video games retailer.

"For the first time since the introduction of Splinter Cell in 2002, after nine top-selling AAA+ titles, and with the 10th release on the horizon, this is your first chance to own Sam Fisher's signature Ultra High-Frequency Sonar Goggles," reads the description.

Unfortunately, the listing has been removed and is not available anymore. GameSpot handled it, but Reddit users have been able to take a screengrab of the page to detail the description of the goggles.

It's worth noting that this could be a mistake by the copywriting team that may have been too optimistic about a "10th release on the horizon." The listing could return soon once the error gets fixed. Or it could not, and that would mean that something got revealed too early.

Star Wars Battlefront III Not Coming Anytime SoonPaolo SirioWed, 09/04/2019 - 09:55

Yesterday, we reported how DICE feels good about Star Wars Battlefront II right now, which is quite different from their initial feelings. Previously, the developers were uneasy with the idea of reaching out on the internet to talk to their fans.

Things have changed over the last few months, though, and the Swedish developer isn't in a hurry when it comes to leaving the existing game in the franchise. As of right now, DICE does not have plans for releasing a Star Wars Battlefront III anytime soon.

"Sequels are probably still viable otherwise people wouldn’t be doing them," said design director Dennis Brännvall, in an interview with PCGamesN, "but it’s not the same hunger as it used to be. We were so used to the chain of sequels, where we do a sequel then we do a season pass for a year then move onto the next game. I think the industry has changed on that… before it was very transactional and we made the game, and we signed up for 4 DLCs, and then that’s it."

"So then you focus on getting value to players out of what they paid for, and if there was a system that wasn’t working then you put a pin in that and say we will fix it in the sequel," Brännvall said. "This time around we’re not doing it that way."

It seems the developer is going for a Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch model rather than pushing for new titles in the same franchise. Star Wars Battlefront II has built up a much stronger player base to continue forward into a longer timespan, which could be well beyond The Rise of Skywalker movie release.

Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer ConfirmedPaolo SirioWed, 09/04/2019 - 10:13

Over the last few months, we've been discussing the introduction of a multiplayer component in Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt RED has remained ambiguous about the topic. The Polish developer has been discussing chances that we could get this multiplayer mode anytime soon. However, they ended up claiming during E3 and Gamescom that it would not be coming before 2021.

Today, we have an official confirmation about multiplayer happening in Cyberpunk 2077. While we're going to get it, it's going to follow the game's initial release date next year.

"Until now, the only thing we said about multi was that it was in R&D," said CDPR. "As we’re getting closer to launching ‘single-player’ Cyberpunk 2077 in Apr. 2020, we’d like to confirm that multiplayer's in the works!"

"The plan, for now, is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April," added the team, "then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single-player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action."

The development of these features is still in the making. This development process is why CD Projekt RED continues recruiting people to fill its offices. It is searching for employees with knowledge in the matter, as the team has not worked with multiplayer too much in the past.  We'll be reporting as soon as we get more information about what this multiplayer component will be about - PvP? PvE? We don't know yet.

Overwatch Is Coming To SwitchNeil GrayWed, 09/04/2019 - 11:03

It looks pretty nailed down now that Overwatch is making its debut on the console next month. This assessment all stems from a couple of leaked retail listings. Nintendo may have been planning to make the official announcement later today during their Nintendo Direct.

Overwatch

Ever since Overwatch initially released on May 24, 2016, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox, and PC, it has taken the gaming world by storm. It won awards across the board, including The Game Award For Best eSports Game three years in a row. The competitive title continues to receive consistent updates, including new characters, and events regularly, as well as having sold by the proverbial truckload.

And now it seems as if those of you that own the Switch will soon be able to experience this team-based multiplayer first-person shooter for yourself. The rumor is that it will land Stateside on the 15th of October where the rest of the world will be able to get there hands on it on the 18th of the same month.

This official release should get confirmed in today's Nintendo Direct stream, set to happen at 6 pm ET.

Blizzard Offers WoW: Classic Players a Free Character Realm Movement Option In The FutureZack PalmWed, 09/04/2019 - 12:12

WoW: Classic is here, and fans are enjoying the trip down memory lane as they return to a time where grinding was severe, and quest descriptions were vague. However, due to the game's popularity, many players are forced to go through queue times as they wait to jump into the classic title. To help with it, Blizzard is giving players the option to move their characters to different realms, for free.

Typically, for players to get this opportunity, they have to pay upfront to make it happen in the main World of Warcraft game. Given the popularity of WoW: Classic, Blizzard wants to help players out as much as possible so they can have an enjoyable experience all around.

You won't find this is the game right now, though. Blizzard only just announced that they're going to offer this to players who find themselves spending more game time on the loading screen. For now, players are going to have to deal with waiting in long lines.

Additionally, players won't be able to do this for every server in the game. Blizzard is compiling a select list of servers they're going to allow players to move over to, should they want to use the service. These servers are likely going to have significantly lower populations to make the transition easier and not create a similar problem elsewhere.

Those who are eagerly waiting for this option are going to want to make sure the character they select is not a guild leader, has any unopened mail, or have any pending auctions or bids on the market.

Feel free to check out the official announcement as we await more details to the upcoming option

Destiny 2 Mars Community Event Checklist

While the Iron Banner is behind us in Destiny 2, the latest patch notes in the game brought in a brand new event. It's a community event centered around players coming together to tackle the many challenges happening on the planet Mars. Players who want to take part in the event and assist in getting everything taken care of have the chance to tackle four different tasks. Here are the four tasks players are going to need to achieve by a specific date, and how players can get involved in the event.

Destiny 2 Mars Community Event

Task One

Defeat 175,000 Wave 7 Escalation Protocol Bosses

You don't want to take on this wave of fights alone, especially with Bok Litur, Hunger of Xol as your opponent. This particular boss drops three weapons: a shotgun, an SMG, and a sniper rifle. Both the SMG and sniper rifle are requirements for Wayfarer, so if you haven't completed this yet, you're going to find this an opportune moment to knock it out this week.

Task Two

Defeat 300 Million Hive on Mars

For this task, all you need to do is run around Mars for a little bit, completing a handful of the public events and doing your part to clear out the area. While you can do this from the general area, any Hive you kill in any of the more significant events like Nightfalls is going to count, too. So you don't have to rely on running around the public Mars area, grinding through the hordes roaming the landscape.

Task Three

Defeat Nokris 150,000 Times in Nightfalls, Defeat Xol 100,000 Times in Nightfalls

Now the community event is getting even easier, with requiring players to kill two of the quickest bosses in the game. To kill these particular bosses, you're going to need to run the Strange Terrain Nightfall and the Will of the Thousands to execute the respective big baddie. Both events are relatively straightforward, so if you're interested in jumping into these with a random team, you should do fine. Many consider Will of the Thousands a great way to return to the game, as it provides a stable reintroduction of the game's shooting mechanics.

Task Four

Use 300,000 Override Frequencies

Many are going to ask what these are. Those who jumped into the game a little after Warmind was a critical thing may not be too familiar with the term. Override Frequencies occur when players combine resonance stems together to locate Rasputin nodes hidden on Mars. You need to have completed Will of the Thousands at least once to have access to the Override Frequencies. Several video guides are available on YouTube detailing the numerous locations of these devices, making this a frustrating, albeit leisurely, task to complete.

Destiny 2 Award Emblem

When all of these tasks get finished, and players who completed at least one of the previously mentioned Nightfalls, are going to receive a specific emblem reward for their troubles. The event is already underway, and it ends on Sept. 10.
