Destiny 2 - How To Get The Wendigo GL3

In Destiny 2 the Wendigo is a powerful Grenade Launcher you can get for completing the "A Gift For The Worthy" Vanguard quest. It is a solid Power Weapon, and if you don't want to use up your Exotic allowance on a Prospector (Personally I am more than willing to do this), then it's a great option to have.

How To Get The Wendigo

To get the Wendigo you need to visit Zavala at the Tower and get the quest called "A Gift For The Worthy". To complete this quest you need to get

  • 1500 final blows with Grenade Launchers
  • 500 Multikills with Grenade Launchers
  • Earn 100% of the required points.

All these targets must be achieved within the Vanguard Strikes playlist. You also used to lose progress if you ended up dying. This could take a while, but thankfully Bungie made some changes in the recent patch.

  • Grenade Launcher kills are worth 100% more for each objective
  • Death Penalty no longer exist for the final objective
  • Grenade Launcher multikills grant 50% more progress
  • Completing Playlist strikes grants a significant amount of progress towards the final objective

All of the above changes make it much easier to get through this quest, but you might still be interested in a little bit of a cheese.

How To Cheese The Wendigo

To cheese this quest, you just need to get a Fireteam together who all want to get it as fast as possible. Then, load into the Vanguard Strike Playlist and keep loading into and out of Strikes until you get the The Corrupted Strike in the Dreaming City. Head for the Blind Well, and just grind the hell out of it until you get all the requirements finished.

You should make sure someone in your squad is running a Warlock with Well of Radiance and Lunification Boots for that amazing reload perk. It is still a bit of a grind, but nothing compared to finishing this one in Strikes with the old requirements.

With the changes, you might actually complete the first two requirements long before the last one. If this is the case, just run through Strikes quickly, as they are now worth a lot of progress towards that 100% marker.

NBA 2K20: 10 Best Players Overall

On September 6th, 2K Games will be unleashing its annual installment in its NBA franchise. It's that time of year that basketball fans the world over look forward to so they can dribble, block, and slam dunk their way to the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. It will be fast-paced, frantic as hell, and will have scores that resemble telephone numbers and no matter who you support it gives you a perfect chance to bring glory to your team.

As is the case each year, the number one question on everybody's lips, outside of just how well it plays, is who are going to be the best players in-game. Whether this is because you're thinking of drafting them, fantasy-style or otherwise, or maybe you're just curious to see which of the big fellas you're going to need to stop when you come up against them, it's always one of the most intriguing parts when it comes to the launch. And if you want to get ahead of the curve then this guide has you covered. What follows is a look at the 10 Best Players Overall in NBA 2K20.

NBA 2K20: 10 Best Players Overall

Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid

OVR: 91

Philadelphia 76ers 7 foot tall Cameroonian Center, Joel Embiid, starts this list off and if he's a cool 91 overall then you know that the other nine on here are really the cream of the crop. This year Joel Embiid is up by one point from NBA 2K19 and, at the tender age of 25, if he keeps progressing the way he is then there's a very good possibility that in a couple of years he'll be atop the tree.

Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard

OVR: 92

A four-time NBA All-Star, Damian Lillard is, arguably, the most important player on the Portland Trail Blazers roster. A player who may be a rarity in this day and age as he's been with the Trail Blazers since he first appeared, from his debut back in 2012 he's gone from strength to strength. The second highest-rated Point guard in the game, Lillard is now in the peak years of his career so expect even more from him this season.

Paul George

Paul George

OVR: 93

Calling Paul George a Small Forward seems a bit of a contradiction considering he stands at 6 ft 9, but I digress. The former Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunders player was traded to the L.A Clippers this year for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round draft picks, and the rights to swap two other first-round picks. Which should be enough to tell you just how valuable he is.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis

OVR: 94

Having spent the first seven years of his career in New Orleans, the unibrow 2K20 cover-star requested a trade and duly got his move to the L.A Lakers. The Point Forward/Center will be teaming up with another player on this list this season in hopes of bringing The Lakers their first title since 2010 and if his rating here is anything to go by, he might just help them achieve that.

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry

OVR: 95

Do Basketball Players get testimonials? In Football, the proper kind and not the American one, if a player has been at a club for 10 years then they get a testimonial match, this usually includes a lot of past and present team-mates and opponents getting together for an all-star game with the proceeds being given to charity. If they don't then they really need should and Stephen Curry should be at the head of that list considering that he's been at The Golden State Warriors for a decade now.

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant

OVR: 96

I'll be honest here, I thought Kevin Durant was a lot older than 30. Really, I thought he was looking down the barrel of 40 before I did my research and I can only put it down to the fact that it just seems like he's been around forever. After his, and The Golden State Warriors, quest for the elusive three-peat came crashing down, in no small part to his finals ending injury, Kevin Durant moved to The Brooklyn Nets in a sign and trade deal.

James Harden

James Harden

OVR: 96

I've always had a soft spot for James Harden. He's one of the greatest players ever to grace the court and has one of the most iconic beards ever. One he only grew because he was too lazy to shave. Anyway, the Houston Rockets Shooting Guard is at the high end of the 90s and deserves to be as he is just fantastic to watch.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo

OVR: 96

The Milwaukee Bucks Small Forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo, is the last of our 96 rated players on this list. The ever-reliable Antetokounmpo was last years NBA MVP, and it's shown in his stats this time around. Another player with time on his side, at the age of 24, expect even greater things from this lad as the years roll by.

Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard

OVR: 97

Sitting in second place as the best overall player in NBA 2K20 wouldn't be such a bad thing, that was unless the guy who's sitting top plays for your deadliest rivals. So you can imagine that Kawhi Leonard isn't happy to find that 2K has rated him lower than the next guy, even though their overall stats are the same.

LeBron James

LeBron James

OVR: 97

LeBron James is, easily, the best player of his generation and there's a case to be that, Jordan aside, he's one of, if not the best, to ever play the game. He may be heading into the twilight of his career but that doesn't stop 2K making him their overall top player in NBA 2K20 and if he manages to stay injury-free this reason, he might repay that faith and lead the Lakers to the title.

How To Play Halo Characters in Gears 5

Gears 5 is going to introduce plenty of new multiplayer mechanics to their vast online platform. Players are going to get the chance to try out a new format of Horde mode, the strategic vs. mode, and a brand new unlock called Escape. However, players are also going to have the chance to check out the new characters they can play as, and there's a whole cast of additional characters coming to the game. Among them are Halo Reach's Spartan Noble Team members, Emile-A239 and Kat-B320. Here's how you can play these characters when Gears 5 launches.

Playing As Halo Characters in Gears 5

Character Pack

The Halo Reach characters are going to be available in a character pack for Gears 5. The character pack is going to include Emile and Kat, among several cosmetic choices for players to put on their profile based around the iconic game. To acquire the character pack, you can grab it by pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition for Gears 5 or grabbing the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate edition from the Microsoft store.

Both options are going to get you the same pack. With it, you can freely play as either character in the multiplayer mode. These characters are not simple reskins of existing characters, however. They're going to have an array of abilities and ultimates exclusive for them to use during the Horde mode. Additionally, the original voice cast for the two characters are returning to reprise their role, adding a new range of dialogue for the pair. You can hear them grunt, scream, and yell in angry as they fight against the Locust Horde.

Emile and Kat are going to have their progression tree in the Horde mode, giving them access to different abilities and playstyles. Despite being DLC characters, they're going to have an array of customizable options for players interested in finding what fits them best.

You can play Gears 5 when it releases on Sept. 10 for the Xbox One and the PC. However, for those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition or get the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate edition from the Microsoft are going to have access to the game on Sept. 6, four days before it officially releases.

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne - How to Equip and Unequip Layered Armor

Monster Hunter: World Iceborne - How to Equip and Unequip Layered Armor

Monster Hunter: World's latest expansion is Iceborne, a brand new winter-wonderland wasteland full of deadly monsters. While the monsters are dangerous, the hunters are even more fearsome. However, many hunters need to look their best when they're defeating the biggest of hunts. A way they can customize their appearance is by the use of layered armor. Here's how players are going to go about equipping it and unequipping it in the game.

How to Equip and Unequip Layered Armor in Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne

What Is It?

Layered armor is going to be a purely cosmetic appearance tab for players who want to look different from their preferred armor. Even if their ideal armor set is going to offer them the most protection, they may not find the overall look of their armor appealing. To modify this, Capcom now gives players the chance to look however they want when they're hunting.

How to Equip Layered Armor

When you forge your layered armor, you're going to have a handful of options to choose from on how you can go about equipping it. The easiest method is to return to your room and going to the "Change Appearance" option. From there, you're going to want to go to the "Layered Armor Settings," where you're going to see the available options for you to choose on your hunter. You're going to need to do this at your item box.

Additionally, while you're at Astera or a Research Base, you can go to your item box location to modify your appearance options. It's going to look similar to the options from your room so that you won't get too lost in the menu.

With both options, you have the chance to change the color of the armor. However, not everything on the armor is going to change. When you elect to modify the armor, only specific sections are going to shift around. You can do this from the "Colors," tab in the menu. You're going to want to play around the options to see what parts change, and to get an idea of what sits your particular hunter's chosen aesthetics.

Best teams to manage in Career Mode on FIFA 20

Best teams to manage in Career Mode on FIFA 20

When it comes to solo FIFA play, the career mode, while neglected for a long while, is still the place to be. The new features this year should improve the experience somewhat, but if you've had any experience with it in the last few years, you'll likely still have a perfect understanding of how it works.

Take a team from any division of football that the game supports and take them to glory. While the experience won't entirely be at the level of say Football Manager for taking a Phoenix Club (i.e., a club risen from the liquidation of an old club or lost to another city) back to the glory days, it is still as big a challenge as you want to make it.

So to provide you with the best challenges you can get, here are our recommended teams to within career mode:

Best teams to manage in Career Mode on FIFA 20

Image via Bolton Wanderers

Bolton Wanderers Rise from the Brink (World Class/Legendary)

The plight of Bolton Wanderers is a sad one as in truth, the club has suffered from poor management at ownership level for years (something fans of Charlton, Blackpool, Newcastle, Blackburn, and many others will know well) and their debts almost consumed them this year, similar to the less fortunate nearby club Bury.

While their neighbors are unlikely to be available in the game (they recently were expelled from the League), it's an excellent chance to bring redemption to a club with a relatively rich history. Low on resources, low on quality in all positions with youth heavily relied upon and a heavy points deduction in the first season, Bolton will certainly be a project, but one that any keen English football fan would relish.

Real Madrid’s New Galacticos (World Class)

One of the biggest teams Real Madrid maybe, but it’s also one in transition. They are looking to this summer for a significant squad rebuilding, using their vast resources to purchase some of the most prominent young talents in the world, including Luka Jovic, Kubo (who previously was with Barcelona's La Massa and is on-lon out in the first season of the game) and Ferland Mendy. With some of their best talent retained in Modric, Bale and Ramos, and adding Chelsea's attacking midfield star Eden Hazard to their line up, the foundation has been laid.

But a good foundation is only worthwhile if the building blocks on top of it fit into place, and it's down to you to take on the role of Zinidine Zidane and finish the job.

Dundalk F.C., Champions of Europe (Legendary or higher)

The champions of Ireland’s top league is also one that has plenty of talent (relative to their size). However, that doesn’t mean that much when FIFA 20 believes that the team is the strength of a good English League 2 side. This year, they managed to scrape through the first round of qualifying for the Champions League on penalties, only to be scuppered by Qarabağ from Azerbaijan in Round 2.

The challenge here is to use the club’s limited resources and pulling power to not only get to the group stages, which in itself would be a first for a team from the Republic of Ireland (they came close in 2016) but to go the whole way and win the competition. All this while juggling domestic glory too.

This one is very much a difficult challenge, as you’re likely to find that the ability to bring in any players of actual quality will be severely hampered in the first season. Look to use the scout and youth training system and build up the high ranked youth stars if you feel it’s impossible with the current squad. It will take time, but it’s a journey that can make for a real sense of achievement.

Image via Man City

Manchester City’s Quadruple Dream (Ultimate)

Last year, Manchester City achieved a feat no other team had reached before, and that was to win the domestic treble. There have been teams that had won trebles before, but they had included European Honors, with one domestic title eluding them. But let’s be honest here. This is Manchester City we are talking about, and when it comes to success, it’s all a success, or none of it is.

That’s why taking this challenge requires the Ultimate difficulty. You have been given a squad that is already one of the best in the world, and some extra cash to splash out on another player if you so, please. However, the idea is that you have enough resources to challenge and win on every front. You have the team. Now you have to show that you have the skill to take on the world and win.

One Nation Army (Any Team - World Class and above)

This is less about a specific team, and more about a new philosophy in your chosen team. Maybe it’s the team that you support. The idea though is that you take that club, and build a team from players only of the home nation, rules of the league permitting. For example, if you decide to take on the MLS with Toronto FC, you can only use players from Canada.

Or perhaps if you want to take it a step further, you can make your team up of only players that are from a certain region of the country. Take control of Barcelona, but you must sell any non-Catalonian players. Go with RB Leipzig, but you can only buy and use players who would have qualified for East Germany. Or take charge at Sheffield United and only consider the players from Yorkshire towns. It’s a simple premise, and if you’re unsure on certain players, a quick Google search should tell you whether you can use them. It’s all designed to provide a challenge in managing and using certain players, though, so this would take the most time of all the challenges.

How to decorate your room in Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Anytime you can customize something in a game, it wildly improves the game. Giving players the chance to design something by their standards gives it a sense of personalization and individuality. Monster Hunter World has a few options in their base game beyond character, there’s the outfits in a way, and finally there’s the room. The room in the base game lets you move pets around, but the furniture is predetermined. The new Iceborne DLC takes this personalization a step further by letting players decorate everything in their room, down to the furniture choice.

Decorating your room in Monster Hunter World Iceborne is virtually the same as adding or moving pets in your room in the base game. Reported first by Twinfinite, here’s a quick guide to decorating your room.

How to decorate your room:

  1. Go inside your room. As with the base game, you must be inside your room to modify it in any way.

  2. Find and talk to the housekeeper. The housekeeper is one of two Palicos you’ll find in your room. Whichever one isn’t your partner Palico is the housekeeper.

  3. Select the Room Customization option. From here you can decide what furniture goes in your room and what doesn't.

New furniture can be unlocked by completing missions in the main story, anything from sofas, to lights. So keep hunting to improve and modify your base to your liking.

All Monsters Added to Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne Expansion

All Monsters Added to Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne Expansion

The latest expansion coming to Monster Hunter: World is Iceborne. The expansion is going to introduce a brand new cold map, complete with a winter wonderland for players to explore and hunt new monsters. Because this is a brand new area, players can expect to run into a handful of new creatures they have yet to encounter in Monster Hunter: World, among them, are a handful of subspecies of existing creatures. Here's the list of all the monsters you can hunt in the new expansion.

All New Monsters Added in Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne

The new monsters are nothing to shake a stone at, even if you're a well-traveled hunter. These ice-based creatures are in their element in the thick snow, so you best be careful attempting to attack one on its home turf. Here are the monsters you're likely going to encounter in the latest Iceborne expansion:

Banbaro

The first on this is the far more gentle Banbaro. Players are going to discover this creature is far less aggressive than the others on this list, as this elk-like creature spends its time enjoying life and taking it easy. When you do engage it in a fight, though, be prepared for hearty charges as it attempts to stick you with its massive horns or dodge the boulders this monster can fling at you.

Barioth

The Barioth is making its return from Monster Hunter 3. Those who recognize it are going to see its received a series of graphical upgrades, but it remains as deadly as it always will be. The flying feline wyvern uses its wings to cling onto the icey walls, unleashing a series of ice-based whirlwinds at you. Additionally, it can stick to the wall and attempt to leap out on unsuspecting hunters, making this an agility-based encounter.

Beotodus

This creature is a fish out of the water, but it found its home in the snow as it buries through the thick layers to attack you. You're going to want to remain watchful for the creature's mighty horn, as you're likely going to see it peak out of the white abyss. Because this incredible creature is a predator if you encounter other, more docile animals during your fight, it might become interested in grabbing a snack while dealing with you.

Brachydios

You're going to want to sparingly attack this creature, as has quite the explosive outer layer. The Brachydios is a large, blue and green-colored wyvern that uses its spit to coat its body in an explosive slime. You'll want to time your attacks carefully, as to avoid getting hit by it. However, hunters have the opportunity to use water-based items to remove the coating. As long as you're careful and time the water carefully, you're going to do quite fine against this monster.

Glavenus

The Glavenus is a massive contrast to the ice-based theme of Iceborne. This large wyvern has a blade-like tail that it can turn red hot. When it becomes too hot and begins to die off, the creature usings its teeth to renew the heat. After having done so, the beast can spit out this acquired charcoal, giving it a decent ranged attack, along with its already deadly tail. You'll need to follow the patterns and learn how it fights to avoid its rage.

Namielle

The Namielle is a brand new face to the Monster Hunter franchise. It's an elder dragon that resides underwater, and while it may live underwater, it doesn't rely on the depths to protect it. Because it prefers to reside in the deep end of the pool, this dragon has a distinct glow on its exoskeleton. The light grants it better sight while at the watery depths, but it will also have control over lightning, which makes battling it out of the water a nightmare for any experienced hunter.

Nargacuga

Did you want more wyvern in your Monster Hunter: World? You're going to get more. The Nargacuga is another returning creature from the Monster Hunter franchise, and this massive bat-like creature is on the hunt. You're not going to find it among Iceborne's new area, but you're going to find it making its way to the Ancient Forest.

Shara Ishvalda

This bug-eyed elder dragon can control the ground around it, knocking players around as if they were stones to play with at its leisure. The Shara Ishvalda places the tips of its wings on the ground to feel the vibrations of the world around it, pushing the earth down to force hunters to get creative on how to approach it.

Tigrex

Classics are hard to get rid of, and the Tigrex is an old favorite that's hard to keep away from the franchise. This monster looks like it was taken straight out of the history books, and given a set of wings to make it even more deadly. A distinct characteristic of this monster is how much it's going to actively chase and follow a hunter, forcing them to pull out of the stops to get out of the way. When it does tire, though, hunters can leap forward to make some of their own attacks.

Velkhana

A brand new creature coming to Monster Hunter is this ice-breathing elder dragon. The Velkhana has had extremely little footage time, so hunters are going to find out what this monster is capable of firsthand. Given the cold nature of the creature, hunters are going to rely on heat-based weapons to snuff out this elder dragon's eternal winter.

Yian Garuga

What could be worse than a bat-like wyvern? How about a bird-like wyvern, intent on jumping down from its comfortable perch to smash you into the ground. You're not going to find this happy bird in the colder region. Instead, you're going to find it in the Ancient Forest, among the many already populated creatures, fighting them off to become king of the air.

Zinogre

The final creature in this list was the last monster shown to the public right before the game's release, and what a fitting showing given the monster's popularity. Much like the Namielle, the Zinogre has control of electricity, making it a difficult fight for those who want to avoid getting stunned in the middle of an encounter. When fighting it, this creature's incredible speed is going to make fighting and hitting it a problem for any Monster Hunter.

Subspecies

These monsters are coming to the expansion, but Monster Hunter: World players have likely already found them many times. However, there are a few changes to them, making them stand out from their previous counterparts.

  • Acidic Glavenus
  • Blackveil Vaal Hazak
  • Brute Tigrex
  • Coral Pukei-Pukei
  • Ebony Odogaron
  • Fulgur Anjanath
  • Gold Rathian
  • Nightshade Paolumu
  • Ruiner Nergigante
  • Shrieking Legiana
  • Savage Deviljiho
  • Scarred Yian Garuga
  • Seething Bazelgeuse
  • Silver Rathalos
  • Viper Tobi-Kadach

How to get the new Super NES controller for the Nintendo SwitchKayleigh PartletonThu, 09/05/2019 - 13:07

Many announcements were made in last nights Nintendo Direct. Perhaps one of the most unexpected was that Super NES titles would be making their way onto the Switch for Nintendo Switch online subscribers. Not only that but the company is bringing out a wireless Super NES controller for the console.

The unfortunate news is that people can only purchase the SNES controllers with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, same as the original NES pads. A free trial won’t get you this pad either; the subscription needs to be paid for.

When and where to get the Super NES controller for the Nintendo Switch

At the moment there is no release date – according to the Nintendo of America and Nintendo UK websites, the controller is coming soon. However, the sites do mention the price tag attached to these retro controllers $29.99 (£26.99 plus delivery in the UK.

SNES controllers

How similar is the new Super NES controller to the original pad

These new controllers look and feel just like the original ones from the nineties and are the same size. But you no longer have to be sat directly in front of the TV, these new pads are wireless meaning you can still play from the comfort of the couch. This is an improvement on the NES controllers for the Switch as those were still wired.

The pads are charged through a USB-C cable, the charger type as the Switch console. Two new buttons have been installed, the ZR and ZL buttons can be found on top of the controller next to the charging port. North America will get the two-tone pad, while the UK receives the multicolored controller.

Dyling Light 2's Map Is Four Times The Size Of The Previous GameAidan O'BrienThu, 09/05/2019 - 13:20

In a video on the Nvidia GeForce Youtube channel, it has been revealed that Dying Light 2's map will be four times the size of the one from the original game. In the video, Pawel Rohleder, Chief Technology Officer at Techland, reveals that the "game world will be four times bigger than the whole game world before."

I am taking this to mean the original base game, and the DLC, which would make the map incredibly large. The map in the original Dying Light was excellently designed. When your game centers around a particularly enjoyable parkour system, you need to design your map to both challenge the player cleverly, and set them free.

The first game did this incredibly well, and I cannot wait to explore the world of the follow-up. Dying Light 2 takes place in the last human settlement left in the infected world. You play as Aiden Caldwell, an infected survivor who happens to have a skill set that makes him quite valuable. Because of who you are, and the things you can do, you are in a unique position to help others achieve their goals. You can choose to raise people to positions of power and influence, or reduce them to being another face in the crowd.

The combat and exploration in the first game was fun and exciting, so the idea of having four times the fun in an even larger world is going to appeal to fans.

Dying Light 2 releases for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2020.

Raider Ride explained in Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Palicos unlock some amazing features in Monster Hunter World, from assisting you in battle, to temporarily befriending wild monsters (and then riding them like the mighty steeds they are). In Monster Hunter World Iceborne, the Tailraiders, as these friendly monsters are called, can now be your mighty steed.

Tailraiders were always kind of a charming side event. Sometimes a Jagras would be so taken with your prowess that it would bow to your superiority while you were in its territory and let your Palico ride it and help you in battle. This was really more for your Palico than you as the hunter, but it was still a cute event that gave you some allies, however temporary they were. In Iceborne, you can ride these Tailraiders.

According to the official Monster Hunter World Iceborne website, a Raider Ride is a small monster Tailraider that you can ride. You can ping a location on the map and it will take you there automatically. If you don’t ping one, it will find and follow tracks for you. Note that you cannot control the monster directly, but you can gather items, use your slinger, open your map, and a few other actions.

The website Attack of the Fanboy notes that the monsters become fatigued as you ride them and there are times they may not be summoned. They also have a quick guide about unlocking Raider Ride. The Raider Ride is a reward for befriending Boaboa in the Hoarfrost Reach.

All you have to do is hunt a monster in the Hoarfrost Reach, attend their council meeting in Boaboa’s lair, and complete the quest called “By Our Powers Combined.”

Once you do all three, you’ll receive the Raider Ride Call which will be permanently in your item bar.

Raider Ride is a fantastic way to expand the game. It makes hunting and tracking easier without losing quality. Remember to find new Tailraiders whenever you can.

How to start Iceborne Expansion - Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Monster Hunter World Iceborne is a new adventure in the already fantastic Monster Hunter World game. With new locations, new rooms, new monsters, and new gear, there’s a lot to unpack in this expansion. None of it, however, takes place in Astera, meaning you’ll need to start the mission to get to the actual expansion location before you can really enjoy the content.

Originally reported by PowerPyx, starting the Iceborne mission is fairly straightforward. It’s similar to how most story missions begin. Even if it’s not quite the same, there are some handy icons hovering over key NPCs.

Let’s get a couple things out of the way first: you must have the Iceborne DLC and you must have played the main line story and reached Hunter Rank 16 (HR16). Beating the main story should put you there already.

Alright, PowerPyx covers it all in detail, including screenshots. It’s all very standard Monster Hunter, so expect some of the usual events. Of course if you’re like me, you probably skipped some of the pop up text with mild annoyance. Which is why we have internet guides.

If those first qualifying points are met (owning Iceborne and HR16), you’ll have one of those easily skipped pop ups appear that lets you know some Legiana are fleeing the Ancient Forest and to talk to someone called the Feisty Fiver. You’ve likely met this person before since they hang round the quest boards and canteen.

Talking to the Feisty Fiver will start the quest. Complete the first part of the quest by following the Handler around the forest until you trigger the cutscenes.

Return to Astera and talk to the Commander. This will take you to the Hoarfrost Reach where you’ll need to defeat Beotodus to finish the Iceborne quest. After you defeat it, you’ll be taken to Selina, the new base for the Iceborne DLC.

Congrats! You’ve unlocked the Iceborne content! Enjoy the additional story missions, monsters, and all the armor that’s now available.

How to ride a Popo in Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Monster Hunter World Iceborne brings new content and gameplay mechanics to the already in-depth world of Monster Hunter. While we can definitely ride Tailraiders in the game, there’s another small monster that we are free to hop on for a short ride around the map.

The Popo is a wooly rhino-like creature with long curved tusks in place of a horn. According to Monster Hunter’s Wiki page, the creature was first introduced in Monster Hunter 2. It’s known to live in large herds. Players will probably find themselves hunting the hulking herbivores for resources at some point in Monster Hunter World Iceborne, but that’s not the only option. Players can also ride them without any real effort.

A humorous clip posted on Twitter from YouTuber Henry shows his character reaching up and mounting one of the small monsters as it lumbers by him.

So how do you ride one?

If you’re close enough to one, a button prompt will pop up under the name of the creature. Hit the button while the monster is close enough and you’ll automatically mount the creature.

With the ability to ride Popos and Tailraider monsters, this Monster Hunter World expansion is looking to be the best game yet.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne: How to Use View Mode & Take Screenshots

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is filled with all kind of wonderful sights for you to enjoy. Thankfully, the expansion also introduces View Mode, which gives you a way to take screenshots of the beautiful world the developers have created. Screenshots are a great way to share your love and enjoyment of a game, and to convince your mates to get off the fence and into the new expansion.

Monster Hunter World Iceborne: How to Use View Mode & Take Screenshots

Before you head out into the world and start snapping screenshots, there is one very important thing you should know. Time won't stop for View Mode. While some games, generally single player experiences, can just freeze time for you, because Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is an online multiplayer game, this isn't a feature in View Mode.

As such, if you plan on using it to take screenshots during combat, you will need to be quick. To use View Mode, just follow the below steps:

  • Open the game's Menu
  • Navigate to the Systems tab
  • Select View Mode
  • Position your camera to get the shot you want
  • Use your platforms screenshot function to get the shot

On PC, you will be using either Print Screen, or the additional features of Steam or your GPU software to get the shot. You might even use a third party program like PlayClaw. On PS4, just hit the share button, while on Xbox you need to double tap the home button and then press the Y button.

And that's it, your screenshots will be saved to your consoles galleries, or your PC drives in whichever file you normally save them. And remember, while time might not stop in View Mode, that perfect screen is worth the risk of taking a hit to your health bar.

WoW: Classic - The Best Classes to Heal and Support

WoW: Classic - The Best Classes to Heal and Support

While being at the front line or dealing the most damage in part is essential, you have to stay standing. To need a fantastic healer to keep an entire party standing or a foolish tank who gets in way over their head. Without a great healer, a group is only going to last for so long before they're all down on the ground, trying again. Here are some of the best classes to choose to play the party's healer in WoW: Classic.

The Best Healing Classes in WoW: Classic

Priest, Holy

Those who go with the Priest class are going to find they have a wide variety of choices to pick when they're building this character. Not only do they have the flexibility to go with several different races, but their overall build can change as you level up in WoW: Classic. You're going to have a lot of your points going into the Holy tree, but while you're leveling up, you may want to dabble with the Shadow tree. This way, you're going to be able to keep yourself alive, but you're not going to find yourself held back by the lack of damage. When you're near the end-game, almost no raid, dungeon, or PvP party is going to turn down a healing Priest. You're going to have a lot of flexible options to choose from, so don't get tied down.

Paladin, Holy

Paladins are going to have a great time as a healer. Not only are they highly coveted in raiding groups as a buffing class, but they're going to be able to take a hit or two, as well. You're going to provide the group with a series of blessings and keep them up with a series of healers. You're going to act as the primary healer, but it never hurts to have a backup character or two giving you support to make sure everyone stays alive. However, because you can take several hits because you're wearing plate armor and have access to a shield, you don't have to worry too much about your health. Unless the tank goes down. Sure, you can give it a try at being the main tank for a shake or two, but you're not going to last long. Paladins excel at healing, buffing, and supporting their party.

Shaman, Restoration

You're going to choose the Horde equivalent of a Paladin. While you're not going to be providing your group with an array of blessings, you are going to give them the power of nature. You're going to rely on your totems to keep your little party going. The downside is the Shaman's totem buffs only happen to their party members. So, those on the Horde who are planning to make a raid group are going to need to bring a lot more Shaman than they would Paladins. However, much like the Paladin, a Shaman can take quite a beating if they need to jump in to protect their party. For those who like to get a little restrictive with their choices, Shaman is excellent for anyone looking to be a reliable raid party member.

Druid, Restoration

The final class optimal to protect healing is the Druid. For those exclusively looking to go down the healing route, you're going to want to focus on the Restoration skill tree, with only a minimum amount of points in Balance. You're going to have a handful of healing over time abilities, keeping your allies up for a more extended time than the straight-healing ones. These effects are going to mean you need to know precisely how to time them and when to fire them off during an encounter. For raids, you're going to want to bring a handful of Druids in your line-up because they're going to keep certain people alive, especially those who are finding themselves in a mess of trouble. They're viable back-up healer, whereas they may falter as a primary, prominent choice.

How to repel Velkhana in Monster Hunter World Iceborne

Monster Hunter World Iceborne relies on a similar core premise as the mainline game: an Elder Dragon and the drama surrounding it. This time, we have Velkhana, a beautiful icy Elder Dragon with formidable freezing abilities. Much like in the first part of the game, players will encounter this Elder Dragon fairly early as the plot unfolds.

First reported by Twinfinite, players will find themselves in an early battle with Velkhana during the main quest of the Iceborne expansion. During the quest, appropriately named “A Tale of Ice and Fire,” players investigate why Velkhana is appearing only to encounter the Elder Dragon in a sudden fight.

Don’t worry about slaying Velkhana at this time. There’s no way you’re leveled enough for it and the story won’t let you anyway. Instead, do a little damage, but your main focus should be staying alive and dodging attacks. Eventually a cutscene will play and relieve you of the conflict.

This isn’t the last you’ll see of Velkhana in Iceborne so expect future interactions that may not be as quick as this one.

How to level up fast and get XP in Gears 5 multiplayer

How to level up fast and get XP in Gears 5 multiplayer

Gears 5 Ultimate edition is releasing tomorrow, and there is much to learn before diving in headfirst, especially with the online play. The multiplayer is going to be a popular part of the game, that’s a given, and the mode has an entire leveling system dedicated to it.

How to level up fast

You need to play the right game modes; each mode within the multiplayer gives a different amount of ‘score.’ One of the most popular modes in any shooter is the deathmatch yet in Gears 5 that is one of the worst ones to play if you are trying to level up and reach the top level at 100.

The objective-based modes such as Escalation and King of the Hill are the best way to earn a high score is through completing objective tasks, and as these matches go on for longer, you can rack up the kills, giving you even more points.

Objectives are key

This tactic cannot get stressed enough, play the objective! Sure, a kill can net you between 150-250 points. However, breaking enemy control and claiming zones for yourself will net you a smooth 300 points. Better yet, kill an enemy guarding a ring and then capture it, now you have got an extra 750-850 points, a much more significant dent in your next level.

Use those XP boosts

The best way to make the most of the XP and score you earn per match is to use the XP boost.

The ultimate edition of the game comes with a few boost packs. However, if you are playing the standard version, then that is where microtransactions come into play. You can purchase a one day, seven days and 30-day boost, for 250, 600 and 1200 iron respectively.

Soon as you use an XP boost, it comes into effect and can be seen in the top-right corner on the screen, make the most out of it by diving into those objective-based matches and rack up the XP.

Is Gears Of War 5 Cross Play?

Is Gears Of War 5 Cross Play?

Gears 5 is rolling out across the world, and people want to know if the game supports Cross-Play. The quick answer is yes, the game does support both Cross-Play and Cross-Save features. There are a couple of essential details you will want to know, however.

Is Gears 5 Cross-Play?

As we said, Gears 5 does support Cross-Play. Whether you are on Xbox One, the Microsoft Store, or Steam, it doesn't matter. The game has Cross-Play support for the following modes:

  • Campaign
  • Versus
  • Escape
  • Horde

That means if you have a friend playing on console, and another on PC, you can all play together. Not only that, but the game also has a Cross-Save feature. If you own both a PC and an Xbox One and have two copies of the game, or the Game Pass level to cover it on both platforms, then your save data can carry over between them. As long as you have an Xbox Live profile, your progress carries over between both versions of the game.

If you take the time to make some maps in the games Builder mode, you can also share these across both platforms as well, which is excellent news for the creatively minded people out there who love to build maps.

How Does Cross-Play Work In PvP?

Now, you might have a few concerns about taking on mouse and keyboard users if you play on Xbox One, but The Coalition has you covered. If you like, Xbox players can turn off Cross-Play for Ranked matches, meaning you will only be taking on other console players. This function doesn't happen in the arcade versus modes, but serious PvPers should be happy that they can do it in Ranked.

So there you go, all the details you need to know about Cross-Play and Cross-Save in Gears of War 5. Time to reload and take it the Swarm.

How long is Gears of War 5's Campaign?

How long is Gears of War 5's Campaign?

The Gears of War campaigns have always been action-packed, with bombastic set pieces and a decidedly human story at their heart. While for many people the PvP action is the draw, a vast number of people look forward to the campaigns as if they are a Hollywood blockbuster, but better. If you are wondering how long the Gears 5 campaign is, we have some details that will interest you.

How long is Gears 5's Campaign?

Before release, The Coalition let slip that they expect the Gear of War 5 campaign to take people over 20 hours to play through. The game consists of multiple Acts, where you control two protagonists. Both J.D Fenix and Kait Diaz are returning from Gears of War 4 for more Locust smashing fun.

Unlike previous entries, this new game in the Gears of War series adopts a semi-open world model. You will be making decisions about which order objectives should happen, there will be exploration, and lots of side missions to complete. If you are only interested in the main story, you can cut right through it and reduce that completion time to below 20 hours. If you want to find every hidden collectible and secret, you can add on more time.

As usual, exactly how long it takes to finish a game is down to various factors about individual players. But you can assume that the Coalition has given what they perceive is the average time it would take someone to see all the content the campaign has to offer.

So if 20 hours of a campaign featuring gruff-voiced, barrel-chest people causing alien heads to explode sounds like your idea of a good time, then Gears 5 is right for you.

Gears 5: Horde Mode Ultimate Abilities Guide

Gears 5: Horde Mode Ultimate Abilities Guide

Gears 5 is launching all over the world for those who have early access to the game. It's going to steadily roll out at specific times, on Sept. 5 at 9 pm in your local area. A highly-anticipated mode, Horde, is returning to the game. In it, there are plenty of customization options for all of the characters in the game. They're going to have unique abilities that they can use, which are mostly their ultimates. Here's a break down of all of the current abilities for the characters you can play in the multiplayer mode.

Horde Mode Abilities Guide for Gears 5

Del, Reinforce

JD's best friend is back in action, and his ultimate calls in friends to assist in the combat. With the reinforce ability, Del is going to summon a handful of Deebee reinforcements to the field. These allies are going to follow the enemies around the area, tracking them for your allies to see and they're going to deal damage to the ones they follow consistently. It's a great way to clear out a particularly severe wave and keep everyone on track.

Emile, Drop-Shield

The Spartan warrior from the Gears 5 Spartan Character pack is a welcome addition to the multiplayer mode. It's likely a marketing stunt by Microsoft to get people excited about Halo Master Chief Edition, but there are no issues with this type of marketing. Emile's ability has him slamming down a Halo drop shield, protecting everyone inside of it. Much like the downside to dropping it in Halo, everyone inside the bubble cannot fire at enemies outside of it. But they're thoroughly protected. It's a great ability to drop for a team to regroup and resupply.

Fahz, X-Ray

Fahz is making his first introduction to the franchise, and he's coming into the game with a bang. In Horde mode, Fahz's X-Ray ability is going to allow him to exclusively see-through walls and track enemies. While it may only work a short distance and not the entire map, it helps that he can shoot through the walls to damage enemies. If an ally needs help on the other side of the map, he can make short work of the troublesome enemies and then get them back up.

Jack, Hijack

While Jack has been a key member of Gears of Wars team since the first game, this is his first multiplayer appearance. He's going to work a bit differently than some of the other characters since he's a floating robot. His ability, Hijack, has the robot sending a node into the enemy's nervous system and takes it over. The enemy assists the ally team, acting as a new member of the squad. The one playing Jack is going to have control over the enemy and what they do.

JD, Artillery Strike

JD is back, and his ability Artillery Strike is no joke. When the ability is ready, JD can choose a particular location on the map to summon a wave of artillery fire. You're going to need sight of the enemy to pull it off, as the missile strikes need a particular target. For those looking to overtake a tough boss, this is an excellent way to make short work of them.

Kait, Camouflage

Kait is going to be a bit more stealthy than the previous characters in the roster. She's going to turn invisible, so she can freely move around the map. During the short time she's in this mode, she can freely perform silent kills against the enemy, clearing out the backline for the team.

Kat, Hologram

Much like Emile, Kat is another Spartan from the Gears 5 Spartan Character Pack. You're going to receive them by pre-ordering the Gears 5 Ultimate Edition or the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Despite her being a DLC character, her ability is no joke. Kat can summon a hologram of herself to distract enemies. This tactic can prove useful to draw enemy fire away for her so she can escape, heal, and retaliate.

Keegan, Resupply

Keegan's ability will support your team in any situation you find yourself in with your teammates. There's nothing fancy about it, either. When Keegan activates his ability, everyone on the team is going to get ammo for their weapons. While simple, it's likely going to matter that the player using Keegan can communicate with the rest of their teammates to know the best time to do this.

Lahni, Electroblade

Lahni's Electroblade is going to lie in the same spectrum as Kat's hologram and Kait's Camouflage. This one is mostly going to lean into when characters find themselves cornered against an enemy. They need to whip this close-quarters ability out to instantly kill the immediate target. Lahni won't be using it on the most prominent enemy or the boss, but it's going to keep alive, so she doesn't go down from a single target.

Mac, Barrier

Much like Emile's Drop-Shield, Mac's Barrier is going to create a small dome to protect him from incoming fire. Unlike Emile's, the Barrier range of protection is significantly smaller than the Drop-Shield, and this one does not protect any allies. Those who use are going to want to fire it when they're in trouble.

Marcus, Living Legend

Marcus' ability, Living Legend, turns whatever weapon he's using at the time into a perfect sniper rifle. While this ability is on, whenever Marcus pulls the trigger at an enemy, it's going to become a headshot. Players do not need to aim at the head or attempt to line it up. All they have to do is pull the trigger and watch as the enemy falls to the ground, dead from the bullet. It's a great way to clear a massive spawn of enemies in a short amount of time.

Sarah Conner, Heavy Hitter

Sarah Conner is making her debut in Gears 5 thanks to her upcoming appearance in the movie Terminator: Dark Fate. She and the T-800 are featured in the Gears 5 Terminator: Dark Fate Character Pack. Conner's ultimate ability is called Heavy Hitter. When it activates, she uses her heavy weapon and begins to fire at the enemies, stunning any she hits. When they get hit, they're to get pushed back from her and her allies.
