WWE 2K20 Will Have a Massive Day One PatchRobert WorkmanMon, 10/21/2019 - 16:58

Starting tomorrow, fans of wrestling games will have the chance to grapple with 2K’s WWE 2K20. But before they jump into the ring, they’ll need to get ready for the challenge of a lifetime -- finding the hard drive space to handle the game’s massive day one patch.

Some people that got their hands on WWE 2K20 early have reported several problems with it, including performance issues and glitching that morphs characters into one another. But perhaps the patch will fix that, as it’s pretty big in terms of size.

There will be a required 12.6GB update for the game when it goes live, putting its overall size to just over 60GB in space. That’s about 25 percent bigger than last year’s game, which sat at 45GB when its day one update was applied.

2K Sports didn’t note what was going to go in the patch, but hopefully, some touch-ups will fix the myriad of problems making the rounds with the game.

There have been significant changes to WWE 2K for this year. Yukes, a long-time developer on the series, has stepped aside, making room for Visual Concepts to take over on making the game on their own. While some fans were excited by this news, the result has left some gamers rather unimpressed, with the issues above alongside some lackluster character models.

The patch should go live sometime later this evening after the game becomes available for purchase, which will be around midnight EDT on the digital front. Physical copies should be on hand starting tomorrow for consoles.

We’ll see just what this patch does -- and how much the game improves -- shortly.

WWE 2K20 releases tomorrow, Oct. 22, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The Outer Worlds - Skills Guide and What They Do

Skills are an essential part of any RPG adventure, and you can bet they're significant in Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming title The Outer Worlds. You're going to be playing as a citizen in the middle of a science fiction nightmare where you're forced to watch futuristic corporations conduct cut-throat tactics to make a quick buck. The adventure is heavily going to lean on what your character can and cannot do. Here's a full, comprehensive list of what those skills and details are in the game.

The Outer Worlds Skills Guide

The skills are broken down into seven different sections. They give a further degree of definition for your character. For example, your character might be excellent at melee, but what kind of melee do they prefer? Are they better with two-handed weapons, or using a single hand? If they have a good defense, are they better at dodging or blocking an attack? If they good at handling dialog, is it because they're persuasive, or do they mostly lie?

Related: The Outer Worlds Global Released Schedule

The first 50 points you put into each skill is going to increase all of the skills in the category. For example, Melee is broken up into 1-handed melee weapons and 2-handed melee weapons. If you choose to specialize in this category, the first 50 points increase both of these choices. However, when you get past 50, you can choose to put points into 1-handed or 2-handed directly. The first 50 points are a way for you to get an idea of the skill before truly specializing.

You can use a special passive for every 20 points you put into the skill. So, for the first 50 you put into one, you gain the first two passives for everything in that category, but after 50, you have to start picking which ones you want to specialize during your playthrough.

The skills section is the time for you to start roleplaying the type of character you want to play during the game. Here's a complete list of those seven categories, and the additional choices you can make to define your character further.

Hitman 2 Getting Spooky New Halloween ContentRobert WorkmanMon, 10/21/2019 - 18:32

Agent 47 doesn’t need to have a costume to bump in the night, as far as his targets are concerned. That said, IO Interactive and Warner Bros. are giving it a shot anyway, with some spooky Halloween content set to drop for Hitman 2.

This free update is set to debut in the game tomorrow and offers a nice twist on the usual Hitman contracts. This Escalation Contract has a few nice touches to get everyone in a scary mood -- though Agent 47 isn’t likely to flinch. (That’s not his style.)

The event will be placed in Hawke’s Bay in New Zealand, giving the Hitman a new place to hunt targets. That said, the decor will be Halloween based, with a lot of skeletons and deep colors to go around. You can even put a pumpkin head on Agent 47 himself, in case you want to look silly while you choke someone to death.

Those who have the Hitman 2 Starter Pack will be able to download the content with no problem. And for those that go through a complete the contract, there will be some sweet rewards waiting -- a Tactical Wetsuit and a Bat Shuriken. Yep, someone wants to be like Batman. Hey, it is Halloween.

Hitman 2’s Halloween event trailer is below, giving you a rough idea of how the experience will go when the update drops in just a few short hours. Turn out the lights, load up on weapons, and become a boogeyman (or woman) in your own right!

The game is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Report: WB Montreal’s Next Game is a Batman Arkham Game With Multiple CharactersRobert WorkmanMon, 10/21/2019 - 20:57

We know that WB Montreal has been working on something over the past few months. And despite a few hints pointing at the Court of Owls, we haven’t heard anything official on it yet. However, an interesting source notes that the next game from the team will be a Batman game, but not quite the one fans are expecting.

According to New_WabiSabi, who has leaked rumors in the past that ended up being confirmed, the next game is called Batman: Arkham Legacy. And the Dark Knight won’t be taking on his foes alone, as the Twitter leaker indicates that multiple characters will be playable, within his “family.” This includes Robin, Batwoman, and possibly more.

Now, that would align with the images WB Montreal teased last month, pointing at that Court of Owls project. However, it hasn’t said anything officially. So, for now, Arkham Legacy should be taken with a grain of salt.

That said, though, the Video Game Awards 2019 is coming in December. And keep in mind that show, years ago, was the first place that we saw a glimpse of Batman: Arkham City before its timely release. So a Court of Owls-like reveal would make sense, given the hype that surrounds that particular event.

For now, though, Batman fans will have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime, hey, don’t forget you can play Batman: Arkham Origins, WB Montreal’s previous release, on Xbox One and PC. It’ll certainly pass the time while you wait for December to roll around.

Mario Kart Tour Halloween Tour Update with Luigi Arriving on October 22Zack PalmTue, 10/22/2019 - 02:59

Mario Kart Tour has a brand new tour update coming out on Oct. 22, and it's all about Halloween. While it is a festive occasion, Nintendo is highlighting the arrival of Luigi's Mansion 3, which releases on Oct. 31, with the arrival of Mario's brother, Luigi. Three other drivers are coming out with the update too, but Luigi has been a big one since the game first launched.

You can check out all of the information regarding the update below in a quick video. The video gets broken down by Lakitu, who provides the highlights of the Halloween tour. Players can expect an array of new challenges they need to complete to unlock more currency and badges during the tour, along with three new haunted courses.

The other drivers getting added the game beyond Luigi are Baby Luigi, Waluigi, and King boo. These four characters are not tour exclusive, meaning they're going to get added to the extensive array of pipe items players can receive throughout Mario Kart Tour's lifetime.

The next series of drivers, however, are tour exclusive. They include Rosalina in a Halloween costume. Her frenzy ability creates these massive blue star outlines players need to pass through during the course to get ahead. The rings serve as a physical red mushroom, allowing players to zip into first place.

The other character is King Boo from Luigi's Mansion. Unlike the previous King Boo, this exclusive King boog comes with a darker purple shade, and a large purple crown with a crystal on top. King Boo's frenzy ability gives him a massive cannon he can fire out ba-bombs out of to make short work of any competition ahead of him.

New exclusive Halloween tour items are featuring new gliders and vehicles for players to collect during this rotation. Players have two weeks to gain access to these items.

We've slowly been learning these details for the better part of a week, with the official Mario Kart Tour Twitter account giving them out at a steady rate. Now, we have them all confirmed and in one place. Expect the Halloween tour to drop on Oct. 22 at 11pm PST. Good luck, drivers.

Every Gigantamax Form Confirmed (So Far) In Pokemon Sword And Shield

The big new feature that is coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield is Dynamax and Gigantamax forms for Pokémon. Dynamax is a new ability that allows Pokémon to grow to giant size. Gigantamax does the same thing but also changes the appearance of the Pokémon. Only certain Pokémon are given Gigantamax forms. In contrast, it appears that any Pokémon can have a Dynamax form.

Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing only last for three moves, yet gives Pokémon a big stats boost. Pokémon gains a unique set of moves while in these forms, with all Gigantamax Pokémon having their own signature move. For instance, Gigantamax Pikachu can use the move called G-Max Volt Crash, which is exclusive to itself.

All Xbox One Controllers Confirmed To Work On Project ScarlettPaolo SirioTue, 10/22/2019 - 05:08

At E3 2019, Microsoft has stated its full commitment to backwards compatibility with Project Scarlett, which meant not only you'll be able to play all Xbox One and deeper in the past generations on the newest console, but also that controllers from the previous-gen would be available on that.

Now, James Shields, Product/Marketing Manager for Xbox accessories at Microsoft, has provided further confirmation of that on his official Twitter profile, sharing that all the controllers from Xbox One will work on the incoming next-generation platform, without any caveat.

"Yep - all Xbox One controllers!," Shields told a fan who asked about controllers backwards compatibility on Twitter.

Related: The BC team at Microsoft has still more to announce

It's worth noting that the fan had asked a confirmation for all the controllers and said that he meant at least those working under Bluetooth, and Shields replied with that answer which is seemingly a hint for all the controllers, doesn't matter Bluetooth or not, will work on Project Scarlett.

So, with Microsoft releasing in a couple of weeks the Elite Controller Series 2, we do know that's an important thing to state in order not to let people down with an expensive controller like that and the impossibility to play with it on the newest platform.

What we don't know is which features the Project Scarlett controller will bring in when it releases in Holiday 2020, and how much those could be important in terms of gameplay or appealing to players to make them willing to jump on them instead of sticking with an older controller.

Epic Games Store vs Steam "Good For The Industry," Claims Wolfenstein DevPaolo SirioTue, 10/22/2019 - 05:19

Epic Games Store vs. Steam is one of the toughest challenges in the video games industry ever, perhaps at the level of those huge console wars back in the nineties. However, there's always a silver lining in black clouds, or at least the developer behind the Wolfenstein franchise says so.

"Competition is good for the industry. It’s good for everybody because competition just makes us be better," Kristoffer Kindh, senior-level designer at MachineGames, told PCGamesN on the topic, sharing a very consumer-friendly statement.

Kindh does know that someone out there still wants Steam to be dominant on the market and be the only store/client where they need to go to play the latest games on the PC platform, but that's simply because this is "what they're used to" - which is not necessarily the best for them.

"For myself, it doesn’t really bother me that much at all; it’s just another store for me. I just have to remember all the passwords!" he added. "The game market gets bigger, with more games getting released every day. My personal opinion is that it’s a natural growth, compared to how much game development is actually happening."

Of course, on the most superficial level, this is the bottom line, meaning that it is true that competition makes each business better because it pushes all the players to do their best to win market shares and consumers' trust.

It's worth to say that most of the controversy about the Epic Games Store is due to its lack of features in comparison with Steam, and the aggressive policy on exclusives that is forcing lots of users to play under an incomplete client. Hopefully, with more time, Epic will make this right.

Darksiders Genesis Releases On December 5Paolo SirioTue, 10/22/2019 - 05:28

THQ Nordic has announced that Darksiders Genesis will be available starting from December 5, 2019, on PC and Google Stadia.

The game will release on February 14, 2020, for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, so console gamers will have to wait a bit longer to put their hands on this interesting isometric spin-off from the action-adventure franchise.

It was never mentioned before that the game would release on PC and Stadia first, so in case you're disappointed because you were expecting it to launch on all the platforms and your console of choice this year, we feel you.

You also play as a new Horseman of the Apocalypse Strife who, according to THQ Nordic, "is called upon to save humankind from certain destruction at the hands of Lucifer, and is set to feature “intense combat, exploration, puzzle-solving, epic boss battles and serpent holes from heaven to hell."

The latest entry in the franchise, Darksiders III, was released only in November 2018 and was launched amid mixed reactions from the critics. It's a soul like take on the series, almost entirely ditching puzzles and offering a more focused gameplay experience in the vein of the original title, but as a first approach to the series from developer Gunfire Games, it's just okay.

A new trailer has just been released to reveal and disclose more details on the newest protagonist, Strife, and you can watch it below, courtesy of IGN.

Gears 6 To Be Inspired By Handmaid’s TalePaolo SirioTue, 10/22/2019 - 05:57

Gears 5 has been the chapter that more than anything else in the series has tried to make the IP and the brand bigger and bigger, putting it more in line with video games trends like wider areas to explore and rich narrative, and it feels like the next iteration in the franchise will keep following this route.

Art director Aryan Hanbeck has indeed revealed that Gears 6 will be inspired by Handmaid's Tale, a drama-heavy, industrial, and dystopian TV show from Hulu, which has managed to win people's attention despite not coming from any particularly famed inspiration itself.

"One thing – the guys here will probably laugh if they see this – but I’ve been telling all the artists nonstop to go watch Handmaid’s Tale… The composition, the color, and just the cinematography and symbolism is just off the charts," Hanbeck told composer Hamidreza Nikoofar in a podcast series called Wassup Conversations.

"So, I watched that, and I’m like, ‘Wow, we gotta find a way to get more of this stuff in Gears 6,'" he added. The art director also shared a few names of games that should inspire Gears 6, and among those, as noted by IGN, you can find the likes of Destiny 2.

As I noted above, it's good to see that the franchise is still considering its roots but also trying to expand itself, looking at what other IPs have been doing over all these years. While it's essential to retain a DNA of sorts if you want to stay relevant, you also have to reinvent yourself, and inspirations are all over the place to do so.

PS5 CPU Clock To Be 3.2 GHz, Four Times More Powerful Than PS4 - RumorPaolo SirioTue, 10/22/2019 - 06:23

While we wait for important news about the PlayStation 5, even better if from official sources, here's something interesting that could be confirming that the next generation of consoles will genuinely be an important upgrade in comparison with the current.

As shared by Digital Foundry at the latest EGX event (thanks, WCCFTech), the PS5 SoC codenames Gonzalo, Oberon, and Prospero that have been around for a while are real, and this means that all the information that has floated across the internet until now could be almost entirely accurate.

From past tests, we learn that the CPU clock speed should be 3.2 GHz and that the CPU itself should offer 8 cores and 16 threads. This leads to the belief that the console itself will be quite powerful even in regards to the PC platform when it releases next year and that there should not be any particular issue in running full-fledged backwards compatibility.

Related: AMD details Navi And Zen 2, the tech behind PS5

On top of that, based on a leak by Tum_Apisak (a renowned PC gaming scene insider), we also get to know that the Gonzalo APU should be offering four times more power in comparison with the base PlayStation 4 model, and performances higher than GTX 1080 GPU from Nvidia.

So, all these information have been deduced from recent leaks that we didn't know as reliable, but now that Digital Foundry has discussed them and dubbed them somehow believable, it's good to bear them in mind while looking at what the next generation of consoles will be capable of doing.

As PlayStation 5 releases in Holiday 2020, we should learn more details about that around next year.

What Is The Max Level In Call of Duty Mobile?

Call of Duty Mobile has done an excellent job of bringing the excitement of Call of Duty to mobile devices. Currently, the game offers multiplayer and Battle Royale modes, with Zombies on the way. You may be wondering what the max level is, so in this guide, we will run through the important information you need to know.

What Is The Max Level In Call of Duty Mobile?

Call of Duty Mobile works off a tiered Battle Pass System. The first layer of the Battle Pass is free and available to everyone who plays the game. The second Tier is the Premium Pass, and you must purchase that Battle Pass to be able to get access to the rewards dropped from that tier.

Playing the game earns you experience, which levels up your Battle Pass. Each Rank will give you some reward from the Premium Tier, but rewards will not be earned as often from the Free Tier. The max level for the Free Tier is 100, which the max level for the Premium Tier is effectively endless. After level 100, each time you rank up with the Premium Tier, you will receive a Premium Pass Crate that can contain skins and other useful items for the game like experience tickets.

You also have a player level, which will also rank up based on your experience earned from playing matches. Just like the Battle Pass, this will drop rewards for each rank and maxes out at Level 150. You can earn new weapons, COD Points, and tickets by ranking up your player level, making it a very valuable resource for players, and a good reward for a bit of grinding.

So, there you go. Now you know the max player level, and max Battle Pass levels, for Call of Duty Mobile!

WWE 2K20: What Each Different Edition Will Get You

Today sees the release of the newest installment of the ongoing WWE 2K series, with WWE 2K20. How To Get Primed Mods In Warframe

How To Get Primed Mods In Warframe

Primed Mods in Warframe are buffed versions of many of the standard mods that you will use to create your builds. They will provide additional benefits over their standard counterparts, making you even more powerful. You can only equip either a standard mod or the Primed version; you cannot use both of them in the same build.

How To Get Primed Mods In Warframe

Most Primed Mods in the game come from the Void Trader, Baro Ki'Teer. He will appear every two weeks on one of the public Relays, selling rare items for Ducats. All the Primed Mods will have their own cost of Credits and Ducats, and his stock will change every week. He will not always have Primed Mods in stock, and when he does, it will normally be limited to three or less different Mods.

There is also a small selection of Primed Mods that you can only get as login rewards. These are:

  • Primed Fury - 200 Days
  • Primed Vigor - 400 Days
  • Primed Shred - 600 Days
  • Primed Sure Footed - 900 Days

The final way to get Primed Mods is through trading with other players. You can trade Primed Mods, but not any of the four that you get as login rewards. Primed Mods have an expensive trade tax, at 1 million credits, and they usually are quite costly to buy, depending on the Rank. Fully ranked up Primed Mods can sell for anywhere from 400 to 600 Platinum, depending on the seller and the type of Mod.

A pretty steady way to make Platinum is to buy multiple copies of the same Primed Mod from Baro, then sell them to other players for Platinum. I usually recommend against buying Primed Mods for Platinum, as it is merely more sensible to wait until Baro has them in stock and then get them from him for Credits and Ducats.

When using Primed Mods in your build, remember that they will always have a higher power cost than their standard version, so you may need to use Forma on your weapon or Warframe to get them to fit into your build.

The Outer Worlds - Flaws Guide

The Outer Worlds - Flaws Guide

No one is perfect. And you might learn that the hard way with The Outer Worlds. For every perk that you pick up in the game, there are also Flaws.

Flaws show the imperfection of your character. They serve as a negative attribute that you can’t shake free of within the game and have specific effects that play out amid combat. Once you’re offered one, if you accept it, you’re stuck with it. But living with a Flaw also grants you a Perk point. So it has its benefits.

So far, a handful of the Flaws have already been revealed, with more to come when the full game releases on October 25. But let’s take a look now at some of the flaws you’ll encounter within the game, as well as the effects that come with them.

The Outer Worlds - Flaws Guide

The Outer Worlds Flaws

First up is Cynophobia. It’s a flaw that comes with being attacked by Canids. This can leave an effect on you with shaking. Every time you get into a battle with someone, when they attack, you get “the jitters.” This can affect your Perception by two points, as well as your Temperament by one point. So it helps to stand your ground when someone’s trying to attack you.

Herpetophobia, which is up next, is a little more specific. It comes from being attacked by either Mantipillars or Mantisaurs. Once you encounter one of them and accept the flaw, it ends up affecting you anytime you face off with a member of the Manti-family. This includes any creatures related to the ones above. So when they show up, you might expect a lack of Dexterity, Perception and Temperament, all of which are hit with a negative point each. You might lose a bit of your head battling these things, so be careful.

Speaking of the jitters, Paranoid delivers this effect in spades. This happens when you end up getting caught too many times by guards in Restricted Areas. Once accepted, this flaw makes you jittery anytime you’re around guards. The effect doubles up when you’re in restricted areas, adding a bit of nervousness to the proceedings. You lose Personality Attributes by one point when this takes place.

Then you have Plasma Weakness. This is just something that can be tied in with human condition. When you end up taking burn effects from fire too many times (it’s consistent with weapons like the flamethrower going around), you become more susceptible to Plasma damage. As a result, you’re hit with an additional 25 percent in Plasma damage compared to what it normally does.

Raptidons can be a nasty business in a game like The Outer Worlds. With that, Raptiphobia can come into play. Once you’ve taken enough damage by them, you take the Flaw and have less effect upon being attacked by one. Worse yet, the effect is about the same when your companions come across them, too. This hurts your Willpower, Endurance and Temperament by one point each once it occurs.

And finally -- at least for the time being, as more Flaws will be introduced in the game -- there’s Robophobia. In case you haven’t figured it out, it’s essentially a fear of robots. Run into them too many times and take damage, and you’ll end up with the “willies.” This is through all kinds of automechanicals. Whenever they attack you or your party, you’re “not as effective as you should be,” according to the game. Your Dexterity, Perception and Temperament all take a hit as a result.

You’ll want to study each Flaw whenever you can and see what they do against you. And remember, there’s no penalty if you deny a Flaw, but you don’t get a Perk point either. The balance can sometimes justify the means. Good luck!

The Outer Worlds releases on October 25 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It’ll come to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020.

Red Dead Online Legendary Bounties Guide: Philip Carlier

Red Dead Online Legendary Bounties Guide: Philip Carlier

It's time for another Legendary Bounty for all of us that took the root of the hired gun instead of the Collector or Trader. This one is a doozy. The sixth entry into the Red Dead Online folklore sees you go after Philip Carlier, a once-respected banker who's gone somewhat off the rails, and it will see you up to your neck in swamp mud while you fight off alligators and crazy Mud Men.

We're in the home stretch now with these, as there are only four more left to do, and all in all, I'll be sad to see them go. Sure, some of them have been brilliantly thought out pieces, while others have been rage quitting nightmares, but overall, they've been great fun. So where does Philip Carlier fall in all this? Somewhere between the two, not as enjoyable as last week's effort but not as frustrating as some others. So if you want to take him down, this is how you go about doing it.

Red Dead Online Legendary Bounties Guide: Philip Carlier

*Obviously, Spoilers Ahead If You Haven't Completed This Yet*

The Set-Up

Philip Carlier was a respected banker and all-round quiet guy, right up to the point he was caught embezzling and proceeded to beat his manager to death with a candlestick holder. He headed off into the swamps, and that's where he's been hiding out ever since. Other Bounty Hunter's have gone looking for him, but none have even caught a glimpse, so it's up to you to achieve what they couldn't and bring Philip Carlier in, Dead or Alive.

You'll find yourself outside the settlement of Lagras, a place that should be familiar to everyone who's had to clear a bandit hideout, or hunt someone down, and when you approach Philip Carlier is waiting for you. He is cooking up a stew and looks as if he hasn't seen a bath in about three years. He seems genuinely happy to see you and tells you that he's been looking forward to your company, but it's all a ruse as he drops something explosive into the mixture on the fire that knocks your ass unconscious. Now here is where things get a little weird.

Taking Philip Carlier Down

When you come to, you'll find that you're higher than Snoop Dogg on April 20th. This is a problem as it affects your vision and reaction time, and could see you very dead, very quickly. After you watch a giant owl (no, really) take flight and turn into a puff of smoke, another black cloud will appear, and out of it, armed with a machete, walks Philip Carlier. He is intent on taking your head off, and you have to shoot him to stop him doing so. Which is hard to do when you can't lock onto the son-of-a-bitch. If you do manage to hit him, he will disappear again. You will hear another small explosion, but this time, you won't know where it came from. This is where the sudden death comes into play. I lost two lives doing this as you have to spin around, find him before he finds you, and pops him again before he can cut you up. If you manage to do this successfully, three times, you're sight returns, the drugs wear off, and you have to track him down.

Click into Eagle Eye and look for clues. As soon as you find one, inspect it and focus on the tracks to find Philip Carlier. Be careful, the swamp is full of alligator's and Mud Men, swamp dwellers with mud all over their faces, and their only purpose is to make sure you can't get anywhere near Philip Carlier. They will either stab you to death by putting an arrow in your skull, or chomping the ever-loving crap out of you.

Follow the tracks, and you will find Philip Carlier. Having had to replay this due to being murdered a lot, I found that he was at the farthest of the three yellow markers, but this could be different for other players. It's easier to go by road as soon as you identify him and his whereabouts, but whatever you do, don't take your horse into the swamp as it and you will get eaten.

As soon as you find him put a bullet in his knee and try to tie him up as quickly as you can. The reason for this is simple. Philip Carlier can talk to alligators, and they're all primed to attack you as soon as he hits the mud. If you can hogtie before you get jumped on by his pets or his friends the mud men, then take out everything that moves before carting him off to the main road and onto the back of your horse. If you can't, then you're going to have to wade through the swamp to chase him down, and that can get messy, really quickly.

Taking Philip Carlier In

This shouldn't be too much trouble as it tells you to take him to the nearest jail, and as that's in Saint-Denis, which is just around the corner from where you are, then you should find minimal resistance. I only had one guy come after me, which was a nice change from the other Legendary Bounties so far. When you drop him off in the cell and collect your reward the Police Chief mentions how some people can't be rehabilitated. However, they must try, which leads me to believe that Philip Carlier is off to the Mental Institution and not off to do the dead man's dance at the end of a rope. This is annoying, as they have no idea how long it's going to take you to get swamp mud out of your clothes.

Final Thoughts

Philip Carlier was, shall we say, an interesting bounty. It wasn't as fun as some of the others, but, as I've already mentioned, it wasn't a massive pain either. What I liked most of all about it, however, was it was quite spooky and slightly horror-themed, what with the crazed acid trip beginning. The Mud Men appearing out of no-where and Philip Carlier's pet alligators, it definitely kept you on your toes and had a tinge of the classic Mountain Men Eat Everyone movies of the late 70s. This can only bode well for next week's Legendary Bounty as Halloween will be upon us, and Rockstar is likely to go all out across both its big hitters. Let's face it, we're all dying for another Red Dead Nightmare, and there is that house with the warning on the barn.

Warframe - Where To Farm Toroids

Warframe - Where To Farm Toroids

To gain Standing with the new Vox Solaris Syndicate in Warframe, you will need to farm Toroids. Toroids can be tough to find, but they do pop up in a few different places on the map, and under a couple of different circumstances. Toroids are also needed to to build Warframes such as Baruuk, Garuda, and Hildryn.

Where To Farm Toroids

To gain Standing with Vox Solaris, you will need to find Toroids. Different types of Toroids will drop from enemies in the following areas;

  • Vega Toroid – drop from enemies at Spaceport
  • Calda Toroid – drop from enemies at Enrichment Labs
  • Sola Toroid – drop from enemies at Temple of Profit
  • Crisma Toroid - drop from the Profit-Taker during Phase 4 of the Heist
  • Lazulite Toroid - drop from the Exploiter Orb upon death

To farm the non-bossfight Toroids, head for any of the above areas, and start killing enemies. Don’t destroy the Reinforcement Beacons, as this will allow an almost endless stream of enemies to flood the area. These drops are very rare, so it can take a while to get any. Make sure you are continually moving through the areas that enemies die in, to ensure you don’t miss one. You may also want to bring a Vacuum style mod for your Sentinel or Pet, to make picking them up easier.

I would also advise you do this in a full squad of four people. The more squad members you have with you, the more enemies will spawn and the faster you can kill them, making it much quicker to farm these rare drops. Each enemy at the Spaceport, Enrichment Labs and Temple of Profit has a roughly 2% chance of dropping a Toroid on death.

Toroids can also be found in certain caves scattered around Orb Vallis. It appears to be a random spawn, so can be a bit hit or miss. They are also reasonably well hidden within the caves, but once you find them once you will know where to check in the future. Reddit user giaco20 put together a handy map of the various caves that can contain Toroids, which you can see below.

Orb Vallis Map
Orb Vallis MapReddit• Fair Use

Those are the only two ways to get Toroids, that we currently know of. With them being used by Vox Solaris, and with the hinted increase of their importance in the game, it may be possible to farm them up by other means, in the future.

When you are farming Toroids, you should try to bring a Smeeta Kavat, as their Charm ability will increase the amount of Toroids you pick up. You can also use Warframes such as Nekros with Desecrate, Khora with Pilfering Strangledome, Hydoid with Pilfering Swarm, or Ivara's Prowl to increase the amount of drops you get. A Resource Booster will also affect the amount of Toroids that you pick up, doubling the amount of each pickup.

Does The Outer Worlds Have A Third Person Mode?

In The Outer Worlds, you play as a colonist, waylaid on their way to their target planet, who awakens in the middle of a deep conspiracy that threatens to destroy the colony. The game contains multiple factions, worlds to explore, and of course, lots of weapons to use.

Does The Outer Worlds Have A Third Person Mode?

People are wondering if the game will have a third-person mode. Unfortunately, the answer is no; it does not. The developers have spoken about the fact that adding a third-person camera is something they didn't have the resources to do. While adding that third-person mode sounds pretty simple, it is a lot more complicated than you might think.

To add a third-person camera, a lot of the animations in the game may need to be reworked, things like reloading weapons, interacting with the environment, and other such animations will all need to be redone specifically for third-person mode. For first-person games, because so much of the player character's body is unseen, you don't need to animate a lot of it, but for the third person, everything needs to be fully animated and present in the game at all times.

There is also a lot of other quality checking to be done in all environments, to make sure the camera gives a proper view, despite the placement of objects like walls, ceilings, and general clutter. For something that sounds so simple, there can be a surprising amount of extra work involved.

The good news, for PC players at least, is that modders are almost certain to add a third person mode to the game, but be advised that all the issues outlined above, and more, will persist if it is just a simple camera move.

The Outer Worlds Attributes Guide - What they Are and What They Do

The Outer Worlds Attributes Guide - What they Are and What They Do

What is going to make your character stand out and different from all the others? Their attributes. In The Outer Worlds, you're to start by choosing what's going to define your character with their attributes. These are going to determine several of their starting stats and make it easier to figure out what they're good at. Now, you can break away from these attributes while you play the game, but it's going to take a bit of time and effort. Here's what we know about attributes and what else they affect in the game.

The Outer Worlds Attributes Guide

Attributes in the game are broken up into three different categories, with two different options under them. You have Body, Mind, and Personality. Each of them determines how well you're going to do in a specific aspect of the game. For example, the Body category is going to boil down to how well your character fares in combat. There are two different aspects to focus on that determine specific things.

Related: The Outer Worlds Skills Guide

You're going to choose the base stats for these choices at the beginning, but they're going to change over time while you play the game.

Body

Dexterity

Do you want to move around with a sense of agility and guile? Look no further than having some decent dexterity. This option is going to provide you with a degree of quickness to make your character's movement and speed look effortless.

Putting points into this attribute determines the overall speed of your melee attacks and how quickly you can reload your ranged weapon.

Skills affected by Dexterity: 1-handed melee, block, dodge, handguns, lockpick, and sneak

Strength

Do you want to walk into the room and lift the most massive object in a room to toss it at someone? You can make your character the toughest person in the room by giving them the biggest muscles they could walk around with in the game.

Putting points into this attribute is going to determine how much damage your melee weapon does during a fight and how much your character can carry in their inventory.

Skills affected by Strength: 1-handed melee, 2-handed melee, block, heavy weapons, inspiration, and intimidate

Mind

Intelligence

Being the smartest person in the room has its perks. You're going to be able to pick apart a person's argument with cold, hard logic, and you're going to lean on science as your biggest asset. It pays to know what's in a book before you open it up.

Putting points into this attribute is going to determine how much bonus damage your character's critical hits do when you land them.

Skills affected by Intelligence: Determination, hack, long guns, medical, persuade, and science

Perception

Do you think your character takes notice of all the small details during a situation? If nothing gets past them, they're going to notice the little, finer details happening with a person or a room. Having keen eyes comes with plenty of positives, and taking notice of those details can make it easier to get out of a tough situation.

Putting points into this attribute is going to determine how much your damage your character's headshot and weak spot does.

Skills affected by Perception: Dodge, engineering, handguns, heavy weapons, lockpick, and long guns

Personality

Charm

Talking quick and making it feel like the other person benefitted from your conversation is the best way always to have a situation end happily. A higher charm is going to make it better for your character to convince another they might entirely be correct, but they're going to convince them in a kind manner.

Putting points into this attribute is going to determine how much faction reputation your character gets and the cooldown for your character's companions abilities.

Skills affected by Charm: Hack, inspiration, intimidate, persuade, science

Temperament

Sometimes, going subtle and being kind does not go well for everyone. Some people are more aggressive than others, and they need to shout and scream so everyone knows they're there. However, others are good at keeping these emotions in check and bottling them up. Having a decent temperament can save lives.

Putting points into this attribute is going to determine how good your character's natural health regeneration is going to be in the game.

Skills affected by Temperament: 2-handed melee, determination, engineering, lie, medical, and sneak

Those are all of the attributes you're going to need to know about when you start the game. If you want your character to be good or bad at certain things, make sure to double-check their overall attributes before jumping into the game. Making a specific attribute bad or good could determine how much trouble they have at certain things during the start of the game.

The Outer Worlds is going to release to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and to the PC through the Epic Games Store on Oct. 25.

Pokemon Sword and Shield Players Without Nintendo Internet Access Might Be Able to Buy Online Features SeparatelyZack PalmTue, 10/22/2019 - 12:30

Are you worried about the fact you won't be able to play with your friends online when you get Pokemon Sword and Shield because you don't have Nintendo's online access subscription? You might be in luck. According to Nintendo's official website and page for the game, players might be able to purchase these online features separately without needing to have bought the subscription.

To find this information, you're going to need to read the fine print a little bit more thoroughly near the bottom of the product's webpage. You don't want to go too far. It's immediately under Pokemon Sword and Shield's rating, and the supported play modes players can play the game on their switch. When you get to it, it should look like this:

Pokemon Sword and Shield Fine Print

The significant bit you want to look for is the "This game includes an in-game purchase option for users who do not have a membership." This statement is hinting at the fact players without the online access subscription might be able to buy options for online play. It would provide those who want to play these Pokemon titles online with their friends, but don't want to go all the way with the Nintendo subscription.

It would provide Nintendo with an exciting model to approach. Some Switch owners may only play a handful of games and may not want to buy the full Nintendo Online subscription because they would only use it for one game. This method would provide their players with a handful of options, and it could open up the door for other players to have the same treatment.

Why does this type of phrasing stand out? It's compared to other fine print phrasing of different games. For example, in Mario Maker 2's store page, you're going to see this:

Mario Maker 2 Fine Print

The finer details are "Internet access required for online features." Unlike Sword and Shield, players need to have access to Nintendo's Online service. The Sword and Shield page suggests otherwise.

We're going to need to see how much Nintendo wants to charge for this service. It could turn out players may wish to exclusively purchase the online subscription service because it works better for their budget.

At this time, we don't have the full details. When we do, we'll make sure we have that information available for Pokemon Sword and Shield owners to properly make an excellent financial decision, so they have the best game experience with their upcoming title.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are releasing for the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 15.
