How to Get the Surfboard in Temtem

The Surfboard is an essential item in Temtem, as it allows you to cross water and get to areas that you otherwise could not reach. How you get it can be a little confusing, because it is mentioned so early in the game, and you even get missions and quests that seem to need it.

When you first arrive at Bircal de Mar, a town on the game's first island, you will find a shop called Luisouvenirs. You can get a map of the Archipelago here if you show Luis a Temtem caught on the Prasine Coast. To get the map, catch any Temtem on the route to Brica de Mar. While you can ask him about a Surfboard, he tells you that he has just sold the last one.

To get a surfboard is a much more complicated process. First, you need to travel to Arissola and find Sophia's Dojo there. Sophia is a character you meet in Brica de Mar; she is a friend of the Professor. When you arrive at the Dojo, you will be told that Sophia is not there.

To find Sophia, you will need to travel to the Windward Fort, past the Gifted Bridges, where you will find Sophia trapped in a cell. When you see her, continue towards the fort, then head to the top where you will battle Lady Lottie. Beating her will get you the Windward Key, which will then open Sophia's cell.

Now, you can return to Arissola and fight Sophia at her Dojo. Beating her will finally get you the Surfboard, and you can now complete the missions and tasks that require it, such as the Missing Kids quest in Brica de Mar.

League of Legends' 2020 Competitive Season Launch Date AnnouncedIbriz DayaSun, 01/05/2020 - 14:51

After what feels like an endless preseason, League of Legends’ tenth competitive season is finally on the horizon. The launch follows the League 10th Anniversary Celebration, in which a decade of one of the industry’s defining esports titles was appropriately commemorated.

Jan. 10 will mark the commencement of League’s newest ranked season, though 2020 as a year is still up in the air for Riot Games themselves, with multiple alternate titles launching under the developer’s banner. League’s mobile outing, League of Legends: Wild Rift, strategy-based card game Legends of Runeterra, and a fantasy esports application are all to enter the public sphere later this year.

Back to League itself though: 2020 will see the international esports stage lit up in the most competitive of fashions. The once-dominant Korean squads are still looking for redemption, North American teams are looking to be taken seriously, and European line-ups are looking to overcome the last hurdle preventing them from achieving glory.

China’s star-studded rosters are looking to replicate the success they attained in the 2018 and 2019 competitive seasons, with Invictus Gaming and FunPlus Phoenix both reigning supreme in those respective years. With the World Championship rounding out the season in November now heading to the Shanghai Stadium, League’s international outreach will surely be at an all-time high for viewership numbers.

The 2020 Competitive Season will also see ourselves, and presumably, many of you look to climb up the ranked ladder. Whether it’s playing Rumble, Yasuo, or new champions, Senna, Aphelios, and Sett, 2020 will undoubtedly present a brand new environment for competitive League action.

How to Get the Purple Remedy Skin in Fortnite - "Remedy Vs Toxin" Mission

One of the best things about the current season of Fortnite has been all the skins. The Alter-Ego challenge has given us some great skins and styles, and it looks like more are on the way. While Purple Remedy is not available in the game yet, leaks have revealed the steps you will need to take to get your hands on this skin.

The first thing you will need to get is to get Rank 40 in the Battle Pass, to unlock the standard Remedy skin. At some point soon, the "Remedy Vs. Toxin" mission will be added to the game as part of the end of season Overtime challenges. The mission will give us nine different challenges that we need to complete to get our hands on the Purple Remedy skin.

  • Visit different food trucks (0/3)
  • Earn Silver Survivor Medals (0/3)
  • Get SMG Elimination (0/3)
  • Search chests at Landmarks (0/7)
  • Reach 100 Health and 100 Shield in different matches (0/3)
  • Deal damage with a Common, Uncommon, and Rare weapon in a single match (0/3)
  • Deal damage to enemy structure (2500)
  • Achieve Weapon Specialist accolades by dealing damage with weapons (0/5)
  • Be the first to catch a fish, first to land from the Battle Bus, or first to get an Elimination (0/1)

As you can see, there is a little bit of work involved and how difficult you find the "Remedy Vs. Toxin" mission will depend on your skill level. It should be very achievable for most players, however.

When you finish them all, you will unlock the Purple Remedy style, and also a Back Bling and Harvesting Tool. That's a full outfit just for playing the game. We don't know when the mission will be added to the game, but the leaks imply it will happen before the end of the current season

Where to Summit the Highest Mountain in Fortnite

Where to Summit the Highest Mountain in Fortnite

One exciting aspect of Fortnite'sAlter-Ego challenges is that you need to do particular tasks to unlock new styles for the skins. For each one, you need to hit a specific Tier of the Battle Pass to unlock the base skin, then complete the required number of missions, and finish the unique challenge while wearing the standard version of the skin. To get the Hazard style for the Journey skin, you will need to summit the highest mountain in Fortnite, while you have the Journey skin equipped.

The Journey skin unlocks at Tier 1 of the Battle Pass, and to second step of the challenge to get the Hazard style is to finish three missions. This means doing all the challenges in a single mission and getting one hundred percent completion.

Summit Highest Mountain Location Fortnite

You can find the highest mountain in Fortnite to the south-east of Lazy Lake. This massive edifice is impossible to miss, but it can be awkward to figure out how to climb if you have never been up there before. The easiest way to get there is to use your Glider when you jump out of the Battle Bus. If you would prefer not to do that, then go to the red arrow on the map above and begin your climb there.

Follow the path marked by the red flags until you reach the summit, and the tall red flag that marks your victory. You should find a chest and some Frozen Loot up there as well. Once you get there, you will unlock the Hazard style. Once again, make sure to wear the Journey skin while you are finishing this challenge.

Treyarch Confirms Call of Duty 2020 Won't Feature JetpacksMisael DuranMon, 01/06/2020 - 00:02

Some bad news for fans of jetpacks in Call of Duty, as one of the potential directors of the upcoming title, has seemingly confirmed that they are not returning.

David “Vahn” Vonderhaar, a Design Director from Treyarch Studios, answered a fan's question if jetpacks will be coming back in this year's Call of Duty game. Vonderhaar gave a clear-cut, unambiguous answer – “NO.”

He follows up this answer with another response from a different user, reminding him that jet packs were highly controversial when they were first introduced, and claimed to have PTSD because of the backlash.

Kotaku reported back in May that Treyarch took over development for the 2020 Call of Duty game. A new Call of Duty game is released every year, Activision, the publishers of the series, has three different studios working on the games, and each of the studios follows a three-year cycle.

Treyarch is one of the three studios, along with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer. The last Call of Duty game they released was Black Ops IIII in 2018. If they followed the cycle, they weren’t supposed to release another game until 2021. But if Kotaku’s information is right, then they will be releasing a new entry in the franchise after only two years since their last game.

Jetpacks were last seen in Black Ops III, one of the titles that Treyarch worked on. Vonderhaar had a hand with incorporating jetpacks into the series, and the overall decision was met with critical outcry. Many felt that jetpacks moved the series away from the grounded realism that made it a success in the first place.

With that said, other fans found jetpacks to be a welcome addition to the series. Many are requesting them to return in some fashion in the future. However, Vonderhaar still has emotional scars over the initial outcry. He and the rest of the development team in Treyarch are probably just going to not include jetpacks in the upcoming Call of Duty.

Other than the lack of jetpacks, no additional information for this year’s Call of Duty has been revealed. Stay tuned as we wait patiently to figure what form this year’s CoD will take.

Ape Escape 20th Anniversary Twitter hinting at Ape Escape Game Announcement in 2020Misael DuranMon, 01/06/2020 - 01:10

There are shortages of games that feature non-human primates. There was a time where we had a surplus of amazing primate-based games, like Super Monkey Ball and Ape Escape. With Super Monkey Ball recently releasing an HD Remaster of Banana Blitz, now is the perfect time for Ape Escape to make its grand return.

The 20th anniversary Twitter account for Ape Escape released a series of tweets that imply that an Ape Escape game may be releasing this year. First, the account shared the following brand new image to celebrate the New Year.

After that, the account shared the following tweet with a picture of an ape dressed as a fortuneteller.

According to Google translates, the message reads – “Piposaru (Mummu ... My lucky item of the year is ... monkey! You're going to get lucky with monkeys!)” Note that Google translates is not entirely reliable. Still, it does give us a basic understanding of what the tweet is suggesting. Both of these tweets are heavily implying that an Ape Escape game may be releasing this year.

If an Ape Escape does release in 2020, it would be the first Ape Escape game to come since PlayStation Move Ape Escape back in 2010. The new Ape Escape game could be a brand new entry in the franchise, or a remaster of the older games.

Ape Escape is a video game franchise that began as a series of platformers. The main premise of the early games was about the players capturing hyper-intelligent apes. It is up to the main playable characters to stop the apes from taking over the world.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training Brainstorms the UK Sales ChartsAidan O'BrienMon, 01/06/2020 - 06:14

The UK sales charts have been almost unerringly static this week, except for the arrival of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training at No. 14, making it the only new entrant in the Top 60. The newly released Nintendo Switch version of the game has seen robust sales during its launch week compared to the 3DS version. The Brain Training games are not exactly a tentpole release for Nintendo, but that is a massive improvement and a great result considering the time of year.

Elsewhere in the charts, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is holding on to the top spot, with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order coming in at number two, swapping places with FIFA 20, which falls to number three.

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
  • FIFA 20
  • Borderlands 3
  • Luigi's Mansion 3
  • Just Dance 2020
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020

Borderlands 3 has climbed from number seven to number four, enjoying plenty of holiday-related sales. Grand Theft Auto V is once again back in the top ten, which is a hugely impressive feat for a game that has been out for years. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe maintains a place in the top, and it feels like the game has done that since it launched.

This information includes physicals sales only from retailers. Digital purchases, which are provided by publishers, will be released later this week. The chart shown covers the sales week ending on Jan. 4.

Move over 240Hz, the 360Hz Asus ROG Swift Is HereAidan O'BrienMon, 01/06/2020 - 06:30

With CES 2020 warming up in Las Vegas right now, it is safe to expect some exciting developments in electronics to be unveiled. Asus has grabbed the bull by the horns by announcing the new 360Hz Asus ROG Swift. The current high-end refresh rate for monitors is 240Hz, so this will throw 50 percent more beautiful frames at your face while you are playing Fortnite. That is a considerable amount of extra buttery smoothness.

The 24 inch, 1920x1080 monitor, supports Nvidia G-Sync but feels like a niche filler rather than something that will set the market alight. The majority of gamers operate within refresh rates of 60-120 FPS, and a 1920x1080 resolution feels a little archaic in a world that is hurtling towards 4K, and where 1440p should be the standard at this point.

To hit 360 frames per second, even at 1920x1080, would take one hell of a build, or the right game. It is a safe enough bet to say that most people who build very powerful PCs do so to play at a higher resolution than 1920x1080. There is also the question of exactly how beneficial that kind of frame rate is for gamers. It will be fun when the monitor hits the market, and the curious people of the internet can do some testing.

Asus also announced the ROG Swift PG32UQX, which is a certifiable monster of a monitor. The 32in, 4K, Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate HDR display will pack in 1152 backlight zones, a peak brightness of 1400cd/m2, and a refresh rate of a 144Hz. This puts in a solidly ahead of the PG27UQ, which it is designed to replace. It will be expensive, as the PG27UQ cost roughly $1400, you can expect to pay a whole lot more for the ROG Swift PG32UQX.

We don't have any exact release dates yet, but the 360Hz Asus ROG Swift and the ROG Swift PG32UQX are due to arrive on the market in 2020.

Leaked PlayStation 5 Controller Images Show a Very Familiar DesignRobert WorkmanMon, 01/06/2020 - 06:36

Fans are still waiting to get a glance at the official design of the PlayStation 5 console. However, some new leaked images suggest that the system’s controller will be quite familiar to anyone that’s picked up a PlayStation 4 — controller-wise, that is.

The images come from Reddit, where a “cleaner” that works with the developers managed to take pictures of what could potentially be the DualShock 5. The shots don’t quite show it in its entirety, with just bits and pieces of the controller without getting too close. That said, there are similarities to the DualShock 4.

For instance, in the first shot, we see the directional pad. It looks to be just like the DualShock 4’s, although it might be a bit bigger.

PS5 Controller

The second shot shows most of the controller’s build. It’s all black, compared to the current design of the DualShock 4 with the imprinted shapes on the buttons. But the Touchpad is easy to see, along with the analog stick and home button right underneath.

PS5 Controller

Then there’s the third image, which doesn’t show the controller that much at all, as it’s off to the side. But this does confirm the current PS5 dev kit that’s been making the rounds, with its somewhat unique shape.

PS5 Controller

These show that Sony may be sticking with a design that worked so well with the DualShock 4. However, we only see the front of the peripheral. A patent that was filed in late December reports that the company might be adding extra functionality on its backside with two additional buttons. We don’t see these in the photos, but they seemingly confirm the general controller design the company is going for.

Sony will be hosting a presentation at 8:00 PM EDT at the Consumer Electronics Show later tonight, with the tagline “The future is coming.” While the PlayStation 5 wasn’t mentioned by name, there’s a fair chance that the company could reveal what it looks. We’ll bring you any information unveiled during the showcase, which you can watch here.

Splatoon 2 Update 5.1.0 Is Live, With Some Changes To MultiplayerRobert WorkmanMon, 01/06/2020 - 06:54

Even though Splatoon 2 isn’t getting any more in-game content, for the time being, that doesn’t mean the game won’t see improvements to the multiplayer.

As first detailed last month, a new update has gone live for the hit Nintendo Switch game. Some changes have been made to multiplayer, particularly with some of its weapons.

We broke down some of the technical details in our last article. However, they’re broken down again below, so you can get an idea of what’s been tweaked.

  • The Splattershot, Tentatek Splattershot, Kensa Splattershot, Hero Shot Replica, and Octo Shot Replica now have decreased ink consumption by roughly eight percent. This should make reloading slightly easier, though you’ll want to keep some paint nearby.
  • The Luna Blaster, Luna Blaster Neo and Kensa Luna Blaster have a decreased ink consumption at a larger percentage, at roughly 17 percent. In addition, there’s a decreased amount of time after firing before being able to take further actions, though it’s only down by about roughly 4/60 of a second.
  • With the L-3 Nozzlenose, the L-3 Nozzlenose D and the Kensa L-3 Nozzlenose, ink consumption is actually increased by 15 percent, so watch your firing. In addition, the effect of the Main Power Up gear ability is reduced, and the amount of gear ability required to deal up to 33.3 damage from 1.8 times to 2.4 times the amount of the primary gear ability is applied. Finally, each secondary gear ability is worth 0.3 of the primary gear ability.
  • The Splat Charger, Firefin Splat Charger, Kensa Charger and Hero Charger Replica have a slightly narrowed area covered by ink droplets from fired shots. So if you specialize with these weapons, you might want to get used to their adjusted range.
  • Finally, the Bamboozler 14 MK I, II and III all have reduced effect with the Main Power Up gear ability. In addition, the amount of gear ability required to deal up to 99.9 damage from 4.1 to 4.4 times the amount of the primary gear ability is also changed. Last but not least, the secondary gear ability is worth 0.3 of the primary gear ability.

There are also specifications changed with some of the weapons, as follows:

  • With Splashdown, the area in which damage is dealt upward has been extended. This should make it fairly easier to hit enemies that come from mid-air at a moderate distance. In addition, increased damage dealt to opponent Ballers is up by roughly 21 percent.
  • With the Baller, there’s a decreased duration of active time from roughly 7 to 6 seconds.

In the final part of the update notes, the team talked about the points required for using specials for particular weapons, as broken down below.

  • The Tentatek Splatterhouse and Octo Shot Replica have gone down, from 210 to 200.
  • The Octobrush and Herobrush Replica have also decreased, from 180 to 170.
  • The Enperry Splat Dualies have decreased from 210 to 200.
  • The L-3 Nozzlenose has increased, from 190 to 210. The L-3 Nozzlenose D has also gone up from 180 to 200.
  • The Bamboozler 14 MK I has increased from 180 to 200.
  • The Soda Slosher has gone up slightly from 200 to 210.
  • The Tenta Camo Brella has gone up from 200 to 210.

The team made it clear in their notes that those that are matching up with players of the Shoal won’t be able to do so if they haven’t applied the latest update to the game. So if you’re a die-hard Splatoon 2 player, you’ll want to make sure it’s downloaded.

Splatoon 2’s devs also noted that it will “consider similar adjustments for many other weapons going forward,” in the hopes of keeping things balanced. The game’s next update is planned for April 2020, though a specific date wasn’t given.

The update is now live and should apply the next time you start it up. (You can always select Software Update from the main menu if it doesn’t apply automatically the next time you start the game.)

Fortnite x Undertale: How to Find the Undertale Deathrun

If you’re an indie gamer, then you’re probably aware of Undertale, the amazing role-playing adventure from Toby Fox. It’s been making the rounds since its initial release on PC in 2015, eventually arriving on other platforms like PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Now there’s a neat little piece of Undertale in Fortnite now, and fans of both games won’t want to miss it. A YouTube user by the name of Mustard Plays has just shared his Undertale Sans Battle Deathrun map, which lovingly recreates a battle from the RPG, complete with music by Megalovania.

Here’s some details on what to expect from this challenge (and boy, is it a challenge), as well as how you can give it a try. Can’t let Sans have all the fun, after all.

What Is the Undertale Deathrun?

Mustard Plays details his creation in the video below, which he calls a “tribute map to the awesome battle in Undertale where you fight Sans.” He says it’s a “really hard battle,” as he “tried to duplicate the difficulty on this death run.” He makes it specifically clear that “this is not an easy map.”

The video below demonstrates the details of the map, which are really something. It includes quotes from the game plastered on the walls and in the environment, and also pits your Fortnite character against hooded skeletons. There’s also some very tricky platforming as well, but you’ll need to specifically time them to avoid dying.

There are spoilers in the video below, so if you want to try the map first, you might want to avoid watching all of it. Mustard Plays goes through the entire level run here.

How Can I Access the Undertale Deathrun?

If you think you’re up to the challenge, accessing Mustard Plays’ Undertale deathrun is actually quite easy. Simply enter the following map code and you’ll be taken right to it: 0249-6711-6008.

Again, though, be prepared. If the platforming sections don’t throw you for a loop, the actual battle with Sans will. Mustard Plays really went all out here recreating what Undertale accomplished, so devotees will absolutely love it. If you’re new to Fortnite, though, you might want to practice a bit. You’re probably going to die often otherwise.

Good luck — you’re going to need it.

How to Defeat the Jackal in Warframe - Boss Fight Guide

How to Defeat the Jackal in Warframe - Boss Fight Guide

The Jackal in Warframe is a massive mechanical enemy that is the boss of the Venus system. The fight takes place at the Fossa node. The Jackal is armed with a front-facing Gattling Gun, missiles, cluster grenades, and a powerful slam attack.

What Weapons to Use

Hard-hitting weapons like Sniper Rifles shine against the Jackal, with the Rubico Prime providing fantastic damage output. Modding for Puncture, Electric, and Radiation damage will take care of the Robotic armor, while Magnetic is the best damage type against the Proto Shield.

How to Fight The Jackal

The trick to fighting the Jackal, especially as a boss fight in a Sortie mission, is to stay behind it. If this proves difficult, there are four pillars in the arena; the battle takes place that will provide good cover from both the homing missiles and the Gattling Gun. You will need to keep consistent damage on one of the Jackal's legs so that you can knock it over, and then damage the body. Cycle through the legs, reducing them to zero health and making the Jackal fall, then put as much damage as you can into the body. It is vital to keep the sustained fire on the legs, as they will regenerate health when they stop taking damage.

It is also vital to kill the Ospreys that the Jackal will spawn very quickly, as these will drop bombs that can do a lot of damage. Stealth frames will be able to get close to the legs to do melee damage safely, but you need to be careful about the Ospreys, or your allies attracting a barrage of homing missiles in your direction.

Circle in and out of cover, taking out the legs and damaging the body, and you should have no problem staying safe. Tanky Warframes like Rhino and Inaros are great if you are worried about surviving. Nidus doesn't shine in this fight as during the battle there are limited ways to maintain your stacks itself. Limbo is always a great option to allow you to revive other players safely, but be careful with Cataclysm as this can interfere with the fight. If you do, bring a Limbo, make sure he has been modded to have a meager range.

Space Invaders Ready To Attack Nintendo Switch With the Invincible CollectionRobert WorkmanMon, 01/06/2020 - 07:51

Back in 1978, Space Invaders took over the arcade game scene. Now, four decades later, they’re set to do the same for the Nintendo Switch.

Taito has announced the Space Invaders: Invincible Collection, which is set to release on Mar. 26 in Japan. The collection features the original game that started it all, along with several variations and spin-offs, including more current releases like Space Invaders Extreme.

The collection also marks the home release of Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE, an all-new multiplayer variation where up to four people can team up to fend off hordes of the digital invaders. The collection was previously only available as a limited arcade experience in Japan, so allowing players to see what it's about in this collection is rather cool.

Here’s the full rundown of games featured in both the standard and special editions of the game.

Standard Version

  • Space Invaders (1978, Arcade) – Original Version
  • Space Invaders (1978, Arcade) – Color Version
  • Space Invaders Part II (1979, Arcade)
  • Majestic Twelve: The Space Invaders Part IV (1990, Arcade)
  • Super Space Invaders ’91 (1991, Arcade) – Overseas Version of Majestic Twelve
  • Space Invaders Extreme (2018, PC)
  • Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE (2018, Real Event) – Supports Four-Player Co-op
  • Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders (2017, iOS / Android)

Special Edition (along with the titles above)

  • Super Space Invaders ’91 (1991, Arcade) – Overseas Version of Majestic Twelve
  • Space Invaders DX (1994, Arcade)
  • Space Cyclone (1980, Arcade)
  • Lunar Rescue (1979, Arcade)

The special edition of Invincible Collection also includes several collectibles. There’s a board game with playing cards, an official art book, a Taito-branded pouch, and instruction cards. They're shown off in the trailer above.

The collection follows what Taito previously did with its DariusCozmic Collection, which also had standard and special editions when it came out for the Nintendo Switch in Japan last year.

Invincible Collection is currently priced at 5,200 yen ($48) for the standard edition and 16,800 yen ($155) for the special edition. There’s no word on a U.S. release yet. However, considering the popularity of Space Invaders in our arcade gaming scene, it shouldn’t be too long before one is announced.

As Fires Devastate Australia, Gamers Are Coming up with Ways to HelpAidan O'BrienMon, 01/06/2020 - 08:09

As devastating wildfires continue to rage across Australia, gamers are trying to come up with ways to generate money to help the people and animals that have been impacted by the on-going disaster. Streamers have been busy raising funds for those affected, while on Reddit, posts on the Overwatch, League of Legends, DOTA 2, and Rainbow Six Siege subreddits have appeared, suggesting that developers could add unique skins to the games. Proceeds from the sales of the skin would then go to help fight the fires, assist the people bravely risking their lives to stop them, and help those who have been affected by the blaze.

In the Rainbow Six Siege subreddit, a firefight skin for Mozzie and Gridlock has been suggested. In DOTA 2, the suggestion is for a specialized Techies set where Squee and Spleen are dressed in firefighter outfits, and drive around on a mini fire truck. The Overwatch thread suggests firefighter skins for Junkrat and Roadhog, while the League of Legends thread suggests a Firefighter skin for Tristana.

While it would be great to see these ideas implemented to help raise money, adding skins to games like this takes time. If you wish to help right now, there are avenues that you can donate to that will directly and positively support the people most affected by this disaster.

The NSW Rural Fire Service has a donation page that you can use, as does the Victorian Country Fire Association. To help with the impact of the fires on wildlife, you can donate to NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service here. The people impacted by the fires can be helped by donating to the Australian Red Cross

What’s happening with the wildfires in Australia right now is devastating, with millions of animals killed, thousands of acres of land damaged, and people forced to flee for safety. But many are doing their part to help firefighters in their time of need, including several streamers. A select few just raised a massive amount of money to help the cause.

Loserfruit, Lazarbeam, MuselK, and other streamers recently hosted a live event to raise money. And based on the clip below, they managed to reach over AUD 300,000. The clip is linked below.

THEY FREAKIN DID IT! #FUCKTHEFIRES from r/LivestreamFail

It’s a monumental moment, with the stream team not holding back on their emotions after reaching the amount.

The team has been updating over the day as the money amount increased. One crucial update even shows Loserfruit delivering a full-on kiss to one of his co-hosts as a result. You can see that moment below.

It’s a great moment, and keep in mind these are just some of the streamers supporting the cause. Others have posted messages of support, urging their followers to help. Pokimane, for example, offered to follow back a few people for their donations.

Congrats to the team on raising such an incredible amount of money. Want to help them out? Check out this article for more information.

It Looks like Call of Duty: Mobile's SMRS Is Getting NerfedAidan O'BrienMon, 01/06/2020 - 09:03

One of Call of Duty: Mobile's more impactful weapons is going to get nerfed. The SMRS has been a pretty constant tool for players at higher ranks for several reasons. The launcher is exceptionally reliable against enemy killstreaks and can take out an airborne threat like UAV in just one shot. The feature makes it a fantastic tool to maintain map control and shut down UAVs that would be feeding positional information to the other team.

3 Changes for the SMRS in the Beta Server from r/CallOfDutyMobile

It is also fantastic for shutting down an enemy push, thanks to its ability to one-shot enemies, and the vast area of effect damage can take out multiple targets. According to Youtuber MilkTeaV-TV, the SMRS on the beta server is a very different weapon to the one that is currently live.

First, the speed at which you can move while carrying the weapon has been reduced. The change in pace will impact how quickly you can make it in and out of cover while trying to take out those enemy UAVs. The size of the explosion caused by the weapon has also been nerfed. This cuts down how forgiving the weapon is when used against enemy infantry.

Finally, the weapon will no longer one-shot enemy UAVs; you will need to land a shot from the SMRS, then switch to your primary to do some extra damage to take it out.

As far as nerfs go, these all add up to be quite substantial, and will undoubtedly impact how useful the SMRS is for players. It should shake up how games play out a lot and push more people towards the FHJ-18 instead. The FHJ-18 will still be able to one-shot enemy killstreaks, but the need to lock on is seen as a risk, as you will be exposed to enemy fire if you position poorly for too long.

It remains to be seen if the current changes that are live in the beta will make it through to the live servers.

You Have Just a Few Hours Left to Get the Triggerfish Skin in FortniteAidan O'BrienMon, 01/06/2020 - 09:28

The Triggerfish skin is a rare Fortnite skin that is part of the Fish Food set. It was released in November of last year, and if you didn't grab it then, it is time to jump on the fishy bandwagon. The Triggerfish skin will be in the Item Shop for roughly nine hours, and after that, who knows when it will be back.

The skin is a military version of the Fishstick skin, featuring camouflaged fatigues, body armor, and plenty of pouches for weapons. It also comes with three different styles, one of which features some face camo, and another which adds night vision goggles. Available for 1200 V-Bucks, it also comes with the Coral Commandos Back Bling.

Fortnite is in something of a strange state at the moment. With the Winterfest challenges officially finishing tomorrow, you have one day left to wrap up anything you haven't already done. The Star Wars event has finished up, and it seems like everyone is just waiting for the season to end at this point. We do have new challenges coming our way later this week, and they may or may not be the Overtime challenges for this season.

Gamers are also eager to get a chance to get their hands on the Purple Remedy skin, but once again, nobody is sure when that will be possible. Epic nearly always provides players with a big event at the end of a season, so we also expect to see some clues about what is going to happen start to appear the game soon.

Will There Be a January 2020 Nintendo Direct?

It is a big year for gaming, with new consoles coming our way at the end of the year, and an avalanche of titles coming at us for the next twelve months. Nintendo fans are wondering when they will get their first glimpse of the companies plans for the year, and people want to know if there will be a Nintendo Direct this month.

While Nintendo has yet to announce anything formally, the signs are certainly pointing to a Nintendo Direct happening very soon. The first clue comes from GameStop, a common indicator for what is going on with Nintendo. The company updated its SKU listing with twelve new entries. It would also appear that Metro Redux will be on the game's that is announced for the Switch at the next Direct, after recently being rated for the console by PEGI.

We also have a tradition to consider, as Nintendo has nearly always tried to start the year with a Direct taking place in January or February. As for what we might see alongside Metro Exodus, we are certainly hoping for a reveal of the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character, which is due to release in February of this year. Finally, Animal Crossing just a few months away, some gameplay of that title would certainly be expected as well.  Recent weeks have shown us new screenshots and a new trailer, so some gameplay and more details about the game are practically a certainty for the next Nintendo Direct.

So, while we can't confirm that a Nintendo Direct will be happening this month, we would certainly expect to see one either in January or the beginning of February.

Report Suggests Nintendo Switch Pro Could Be Announced, Released By Mid-2020Robert WorkmanMon, 01/06/2020 - 10:48

Rumors about Nintendo working on a more powerful Pro model of its Switch console, following the successful release of the Lite model last year, have been circulating the web, and now, a new report suggests we may see it on the market sooner than expected.

Per details from Taiwanese media outlet Digitimes, Nintendo will have a “new Nintendo Switch model” on store shelves by mid-2020, with production set to begin around the end of the first quarter this year, around the end of March. The report states that the information comes from “upstream supply chain sources.”

While this isn’t by any means official, Digitimes has been pretty accurate about similar details in the past. Last year, it noted that Nintendo would produce a cheaper version of the Switch, and months later, the Switch Lite came to market for $199.

This also ties in with a story from last week, in which analyst Dr. Serkan Toto predicted that Nintendo would release the new Switch model for around $399. “There is absolutely no doubt in my mind,” he said. He also believes it will come with “beefed-up components,” though he didn’t go into specifics.

There’s been a lot of talk about a Nintendo Direct airing sometime this month, based on new game SKUs that have popped up on the radar and the pick-up of rumors on the Switch Pro.
