Destiny 2 - Devil's Ruin Exotic - A Lost Relic Quest Guide

The Devil's Ruin is an Exotic Solar Sidearm that is now available in Destiny 2. Compared to most Exotic quests, this one is quite short and not very difficult to complete.

Step 1 - The Sundial

To begin the quest, make your way to the Sundial on Mercury and finish a run. You should get a drop at the end of the Lost Relic Quest. You don't need to do any specific during the run; you simply need to complete a Sundial run at any difficulty.

Step 2 - Saint-14

Go and talk to Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar. He will tell you that you have pulled a Timelost Frame from the Sundial and inform you about a new mission you can complete on the EDZ.

Step 3 - A Tour Through History

This is a strange mission, and takes place on the EDZ, at the Twilight Gap. You will need to find ten Timelost Fragments. These will appear in-game as dead Redjacks. Just run around the area and find them, there is nothing to fight here at all. Once that is complete, you will get the Devil's Ruin.

The quest is so short, simple, and easy that we fully expect it to lead us somewhere else, for some more fun. The real upside to the quest is all the chatter between Shaxx, Saint-14, and Osiris, so be sure to listen carefully for some clues about how these mighty heroes all feel about each other.

As for the weapon itself, we haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but the ability to charge a shot is definitely interesting, and it looks beautiful as well.

How to Beat Heatran in Pokémon GO

How to Beat Heatran in Pokémon GO

Raids in Pokémon GO are a big deal, and trainers only have a month to engage with the select Legendary Pokémon Niantic unleashes. From Jan. 7 to Feb. 4, all trainers have the opportunity to encounter Heatran, a Fire and Steel-type Legendary Pokémon.

Taking him down will prove troublesome, but with some detailed planning to craft an ideal team, you'll be able to take Heatran down and add him to your growing Pokémon collection.

Heatran does have a chance to be a Shiny this time, so be on the lookout for this rare variation.

Heatran's Weaknesses and Resistances

Heatran is a Fire and Steel-type Pokémon, so it only has a handful of weaknesses and even more resistances. Heatran is weak to these Pokémon types:

  • Fighting
  • Ground
  • Water

Heatran is resistant to Pokémon who use these type of moves:

  • Bug
  • Dragon
  • Fairy
  • Flying
  • Grass
  • Ice
  • Normal
  • Psychic
  • Poison
  • Steel

Ideally, you'll want to bring in a Water or Ground-type Pokémon. These choices provide the best chances of withstanding Heatran's relentless attacks.

Heatran's Moves

When you face off against Heatran, the Pokémon will have several moves ready to use against you. These attacks could influence your choice of Pokémon to bring into battle. Heatran movesets include:

  • Fire Spin (quick attack)
  • Fire Blast (Charge)
  • Flamethrower (Charge)
  • Iron Head (Charge)
  • Bug Bite (Quick)
  • Stone Edge (Charge)

Not many Ground-types are weak to these Fire, Steel, Rock, or Bug-type attacks, but they cannot resist them well, either. Trainers will need to have durable and robust Ground-type Pokémon in their arsenal to take down Heatran. When you pick a team to face off against it, consider your Pokémon's defenses and the move types they have available.

Heatran's Counters

The ideal choices to face Heatran in a fight lean toward powerful Ground-type Pokémon. You want to rely on using Groudon, Rhyperior, Garchomp, Excadrill, or Swampert. Swampert would be a great choice because it's a Ground and Water-type, meaning Swampert could have Mud Shot for its quick move and then have Hydro Cannon or Surf for its Charge attack.

You need to know that Heatran now takes a greater amount of damage from Ground-type Pokémon. Trainers will want to abuse this advantage and focus on Ground-moves during the encounter.

Some trainers may want to use Mamoswine for a Ground-type attacker. However, with it being a Ground and Ice-type, it's better to not use it. Heatran has too many Fire-type moves to potentially wipe the floor with Mamoswine, and a single Steel-type that could also do a considerable amount of damage. It's better to rely on the alternative Ground-type Pokémon to use during the encounter.

How to Battle Heatran

You can battle Heatran at Raids that show up through Pokémon GO. It appears in five-star raids, so stay on the lookout for these locations. If you attempt to go for Heatran but fail, you may want to coordinate with friends to team-up to take down this Legendary creature at a later date.

You do need a raid pass to gain access to a Heatran battle. Every trainer receives a Raid Pass once per day by spinning a Poké Stop. If you want to do another raid that day, you need to purchase a Premium Raid Pass from the shop for 100 Pokécoins.

To catch Heatran, you can only use Premier balls. These are special Pokéballs you receive for your participation in the raid, and you receive them in multiple ways:

  • The level of your Gym Badge at the Raid Gym
  • Your team's overall performance
  • Your battle performance
  • Does your team control the Raid Gym?

The more Premier balls you have access to during the raid, the more chances you have in attempting to capture Heatran before it runs away. Coordinate with your friends and think about how you want to maximize your results during the battle to receive the most Premier balls at the end. Unfortunately, some conditions are out of your control.

Where to Find and Eliminate Killa in Escape from Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov has taken over the gaming world in 2020, reaching sky-high numbers on live streaming sites and in-game. As such, there are a ton of new players exploring the various maps for the first time.

One of the most popular maps, Interchange, hides a secret, as some players are finding out the hard way. If you've ventured out towards the mall on Interchange and were eliminated immediately, chances are you ran into the Scav Boss, Killa.

Killa is one of four Scav Bosses in Escape from Tarkov. He's only found on Interchange and deals an insane amount of damage. So, it's only natural that every player wants their chance to take him down. Here's where you can find Killa and the best way to eliminate him.

Location and strategy

Killa can be found on the first floor of the center mall. When you see the Mantis, Viking, or The National Shops, you know you're near where Killa spawns. However, there's only a 38 percent chance he spawns on any given raid.

Killa

If you do manage to run into him, try your best to stay out of his line of sight. He is equipped with an RPK-16 Light Machine Gun and grenades, meaning he can mow you down from any range. If you have the funds, equip yourself with ammunition that penetrates armor, such as 7.62x51 or 5.56 M995.

Staying behind cover and out of his view, start firing bullets while he has his back turned to you. If he turns around to fire back, duck back down behind cover and move to another spot to repeat the process. However, he will follow you agilely until he kills you so move swiftly.

Killa

If you don't have penetrating ammunition, aiming for his legs is a great strategy, but it's risky as it takes longer to kill him. If you have a partner for this ambush, keep the same strategy as before but position yourselves in different coverage areas. As Killa turns to shoot at one of you, the other should take the chance to fire bullets into his armor.

With enough luck and accurate shots, you'll eventually eliminate Killa. This will take some time though, as he has starts with 830 health.

How to Level Up Fast in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

How to Level Up Fast in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a massive game full of adventure, interesting characters, insightful quests, and treacherous combat. but the start of the game can feel a little difficult for new players because of how much time it takes the level up a low-level Geralt. He doesn't have too many skills unlocked, and his gear is not the best, making for a difficult time to fight the nasty monsters.

There are a few things you can do to level up fast in Witcher 3.

Focus on Side Quests, and Avoid the Main Story

Witcher 3 Side Quests in the Game

You don't want to spend too much time going through the main story of The Witcher 3. If you do that, you'll start to unlock higher level areas, and you may feel like you need to keep going in this direction. By doing this, you'll spend too much time going forward than exploring locations you already have access to in the game.

You want to explore these massive areas, and even do some backtracking to return to locations to do the quest you've been holding off from doing.

Take a look at your quest log to see if you're ready to do some of the harder quests you weren't leveled to do, or see how close some of them are from others. You can sometimes knock out several quests if they're closer together.

Grab The Signposts

The signposts in the game are how you can use the fast travel system. You want to be able to travel around the map within seconds rather than traveling on Roach the entire time, despite how beautiful the game looks.

You can quickly move to the next destination of your quest and then return to the quest giver when you finish things up.

Sign Posts in The Witcher 3

It's a great way to make sure you stay on top of the map, too. You'll be able to avoid the nasty monsters you encounter along the way who could make traveling between quest locations take longer.

Visit Every Town

The smaller towns are where you're going to find a small board with a series of quests available for you to take. Geralt usually picks and chooses his tasks, but when he needs money, almost anything sounds like a good idea.

It's similar to making sure you have all of the signposts unlocked on your map. The more towns you visit, you gain more access to quests and can level up Geralt significantly faster.

Upgrade Your Gear Often

Speaking of towns, these are great locations to meet blacksmiths and merchants. These vendors can trade some of the useless junk you acquired, or you can sell them some of your older supplies for money. Some of them may have some notable gear you can use to upgrade Geralt to keep him in ahead of the curve. If you're watching your weapons, armor, and the type of runes you have available, you'll be able to optimize your build to face any threat you encounter, even if they're a bit stronger than you.

Admittedly, the best gear is stuff you'll find from completing treasure hunts and unlocking the different Witcher schools, such as the Serpentine, Griffin, Feline, Wolven, Viper, Manticore, and Ursine sets. When you grab these quests, double-check the quest level and your level to see if you're ready to embark on these journeys.

Complete All of White Orchard

Before you begin your journey out of the tutorial area of White Orchard, you'll want to complete all of the tasks here. Doing this places your best foot forward before you enter the open-world portion of the game. It's a small area compared to the rest of the game, but spending a little extra time during the early portion gives you an excellent start forward.

Look for Gear With XP Boosts

The final thing you want to do to give yourself the best boost in The Witcher 3 is to wield specific pieces of gear during your journey. You want to locate special Green-colored equipment and read the fine text of these weapon pieces.

For example, if you have a Green-text silver sword, you may earn a 20 percent XP boost from killing monsters. Depending on the trophy you have Roach carrying, you can receive an additional 5 percent experience increase to killing humans, non-humans, or monsters.

Special Green-text Witcher Gear for XP Boosts

You'll want to read the text of every weapon you wield. If you're double-checking the bonuses, you can gain more experience for the fighting you have to do for the side quests or tasks you're completing, which offer the largest XP payouts.

The Snow in Fortnite Has Begun to MeltAidan O'BrienTue, 01/07/2020 - 15:06

Snow in Fortnite is divisive, especially when blizzards start to reduce visibility to almost zero. Some players like the change of pace and enjoy breaking out some suitable skins for the weather. Others dislike when the game changes on such a fundamental level.

The latter group has suffered enough, it would seem, and the snow in Fortnite has begun to melt.

Snow Melt Fortnite

With Winterfest 2019 coming to an end today, it seems the snow is leaving with it. It is already receding around Slurpy Swamp and Sweaty Sands. The Sands enjoy a more agreeable, warmer climate than the rest of the map, and Slurpy Swamp is kept nicely toasty by the various run-off pipes from the factory.

The thaw is happening quite quickly, too, with a lot of snow disappearing in the last few hours. Weeping Woods looks like it is well on its way to melting, and Dirty Docks is nearly cleared. At this rate, in just a day or two, all the snow will be gone.

With the next season on the horizon, scheduled to start sometime around the middle of February, it is time for the winter to stop having an impact as the map shapes up for spring.

New challenges will be unlocking soon, as what appears to be the final Mission of the season will unlock on Thursday, Jan. 9. It should give us our last chance to rack up plenty of experience, earning our last few Tiers of the Battle Pass.

How to Get Clay in Stardew Valley

How to Get Clay in Stardew Valley

Clay is an essential resource in Stardew Valley. You need it on your farm to make retaining soil, garden pots, brick floors, gifting to fish in Fish Ponds, and for building a Silo on your farm. Obtaining large amounts of it can take a bit of time, though.

How to Get Clay in Stardew Valley

There are five different ways to obtain Clay in the game.

  • Digging up dirt
  • Digging up sand
  • Digging up Artifact spots
  • Opening up Geodes
  • You can receive it as a gift

You'll need a hoe to dig up the dirt, sand, and Artifact spots you find around the world. If you have a small place on your farm you're not using for plants, feel free to wander around here with your hoe and start digging. You may randomly receive a piece of clay, but they're relatively rare. The same goes for sand and Artifact spots.

Geodes are likely your best method of finding them in the game. You can receive Geodes by exploring levels 1 to 39 of the Mines. You want to go for the standard Geodes, not the Frozen, Magma, or Omni Geodes available at the lower levels of the Mines. When you receive a Geode, you need to take it to the blacksmith, Clint, who has his shop located across the bridge to the east of town. His shop is open from 9am to 4pm. It costs 25 gold pieces to open it.

The final option to receive clay is the most fleeting method. You can receive it as a gift during the Feast of the Winter Star from Jas or Vincent. The Feast of the Winter Star only takes place during the 25th of the Winter from 9am to 2pm in the main town. It's a limited opportunity to receive clay, so counting on it as a substantial opportunity would severely disappoint you. However, if it's coming up, and you need clay, it's good to hope for it to save time from visiting the Mine.

Exit the Gungeon Shooting Its Way to Consoles and PC This YearRobert WorkmanTue, 01/07/2020 - 16:18

After spending a few months as an exclusive to the Apple Arcade service, Dodge Roll Games’ Exit the Gungeon is set to blaze its way to other platforms.

In a new post on its Twitter account, the developer confirmed that the fast-paced shoot-em-up will arrive on PC and consoles “early this year.” There wasn’t any kind of release date given yet, but PAX South and PAX East are taking place soon. Either of these shows would be ideal locations to reveal information about it.

Aside from that, the team’s original release, Enter the Gungeon, has become one of the most popular indie games out there. In the same Twitter post, it confirmed, “Enter the Gungeon has surpassed three million copies sold and we’re so thankful for the community’s support!” The game has made its way to a number of platforms, starting on PC and eventually making its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It’s a safe bet that Exit the Gungeon will arrive on all of these platforms as well.

Finally, Dodge Roll Games reminded gamers that it’s bringing the Gungeon experience to arcades, too. House of the Gundead is set to debut sometime this year, though no new information is available at the present time. Still, for those that love a good arcade shooter like Time Crisis and House of the Dead, keep an eye out for this one.

If you need a reminder of just how rad a game Exit the Gungeon is, check out the trailer below. You can check it out on Apple Arcade now.

Devil May Cry 3 Will Have “A Little Something Extra” On Nintendo SwitchRobert WorkmanTue, 01/07/2020 - 16:39

We’ve already seen the first two Devil May Cry games make their digital debut on Nintendo Switch. But with the third game, Capcom wants to pack in some bonus items for fans to enjoy.

Set to arrive next month, Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition will bring all the run-and-gun goodness of the original, but in handy Switch form. But the game’s producer, Matt Walker, noted that it’ll have a “little something extra” included.

In a video tweet on the Devil May Cry Twitter account, Walker provided an exciting update. “We know that this game holds a very special place in all of your hearts, and so we wanted to show our appreciation,” he said. “I guess you can see we were feeling a little motivated to add a little something extra that we think you’re all really going to like.”

He didn't say specifically what’s coming to the port, but he did provide the next best thing. “So here are the key dates to circle on your calendar to check back for more info: Jan. 16, Jan. 30, and Feb. 13.”

The game releases on Feb. 20, so that means fans will get to see what’s coming in the weeks leading up to it. More than likely, some bonus skins might be included. And who knows, Dante might just show up somewhere else. He’s been prone to doing crossovers before, and, hey, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is right there…

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition will cost players $19.99 upon release. But judging by what the team has in store, that should be more than worth it. (Which is more than we can say for Devil May Cry 2.)

How to Find Red Mutagens in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

How to Find Red Mutagens in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Red mutagen is a useful resource to gather in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You use it to improve your skills and abilities for Geralt. Unfortunately, red mutagens are some of the hardest to locate in the game. There are a handful of reliable farming locations in the game, and some notable monsters you can hunt down who have a higher chance of dropping them.

Best Monsters That Drop Red Mutagen

To receive red mutagen, you need to kill monsters and loot their corpses. With red being the rarest of the colored mutagens, only a handful of monsters have a chance of dropping them, and none of them are pushovers. These are the ones you want to fight that have a chance of dropping a red mutagen:

  • Devourers
  • Alghouls
  • Arachas
  • Nekkars (Warriors)
  • Hags
  • Ghouls
  • Drowners

Devourers and alghouls are the best monsters to hunt for if you're looking for red mutagen. Devourers are a bit difficult, especially if you forget they exploded before they die in combat. You can easily find yourself on the explosive end of one them, and soon you're down a good chunk of health, or worse. The alghouls are also tricky because you need to use the Axii spell to lower their armor; otherwise, you cannot damage them.

Arachas in The Withcer 3

Arachas, Nekkars (Warriors), Hags, Ghouls, and Drowners are also decent sources to seek out. Drowners are some of the worst to have to any red mutagen on them, so you may want to avoid seeking them out until you reach Skellige. Many of these creatures have fewer chances of a red mutagen dropping compared to a Devourer or Alghoul, but you may encounter them more frequently.

Best Locations to Find Red Mutagen

The monsters you encounter on your journey have the chance to drop the red mutagen, but you need to find them. They are all over The Witcher 3, and you need to go out of your way to locate them. These are the best locations to find your prey:

  • Skellige
  • Velen

The important Skellige areas include Redgill and the Whale Graveyard. You can have the Drowners spawn at the Redgill coast location by traveling to the area, killing them, returning to the signpost, and then teleporting anywhere in Velen. After that, return to the Redgill coast, and the Drowners should respawn. One of them typically drops a single red mutagen. If they do not respawn, return to any of the signposts in Velen, meditate for 24 hours, and then try it again.

Toderas Village in The Witcher 3

For Velen, you can visit the village Toderas to take on a small group of Devourers and an Alghoul. You'll want to take down the Devourers first and then tackle the Alghoul. This group does respawn again, much like the Drowners from the Redgill location. You need to transport yourself out of the area and travel to a different part of the world to make them respawn. You will reliably loot at least one red mutagen from them, and you can always locate Arachas to the south of Crookback Bog Orphanage.

Fortnite's Item Shop is where you can pick up skins, back bling, emotes, and other fun items to add some personality to your time in the game. The Item Shop updates every day at 5 pm PT, bringing new stock that might interest you. There is no way to know precisely what will end up in the shop or when particular skins will be in the shop, so you need to check what is in there every day to make sure you don't have something that you want.

The shop can also feature packs that you can buy that contain lots of skins and cosmetics, but these will generally be available to purchase for quite a while, such as the recent Polar Patrol Pack.

Jeff Kaplan Hints at Possible Changes to Baptiste

Jeff Kaplan Hints at Possible Changes to BaptisteJess SimmondsTue, 01/07/2020 - 18:39

Overwatch’s Baptiste, a support hero, has been dividing opinion within the community since he was released in March 2019. His mixed reception is partly due to his Immortality Field ability, which he can throw out and will prevent teammates within the Field from dying.

Aside from some minor changes to cooldown times, Baptiste’s abilities have remained almost untouched since he was added to the game. And, although his Immortality Field has one of the most extended cooldown times out of any ability in Overwatch, it is still incredibly frustrating to be up against and remains a topic of heated debate within the community.

However, according to a Reddit comment by Game Director Jeff Kaplan, the development team is “trying out some changes to Immortality Field to make it less oppressive.”

Kaplan’s comment could mean that the ability will be changed completely, instead of just getting an extended cooldown time, as in previous updates. It’s one of the most divisive abilities to ever hit Overwatch, and it’s the first to guarantee that heroes will stay alive during a fight (as long as an enemy doesn’t destroy your Immortality Field, of course).

Regardless of whether it is a few changes or a complete overhaul, players will be able to try it out when it hits the Public Test Region. There is no telling when the update will be released, but fans can be sure that when it’s finished, it’ll be on the PTR as soon as possible.

Hearthstone; Descent of Dragons Meta Report #1

The current Hearthstone meta is an interesting one. While the first week of release was dominated almost solely by Galakrond Shaman, and the second week (post-nerf) saw those decks that had risen to destroy it (Face Hunter and Deathrattle Rogue) duking it out for supremacy, the meta over the last couple of weeks has settled quite well.

While not the most diverse I’ve seen, it’s one of them, with a wide variety of decks that are viable. Every class boasts at least one Tier 2 or above deck,  save Mage, which is something you don’t see often.

But let’s define some terms and conditions real quick before we get down to this meta report.

For clarity, this article assumes that every deck falls into one of four major deck types: Control, Aggro, Midrange, and Combo.

Control decks aim to win the late game, focusing on long term value generation and removal, often with healing or other stall tactics available. Control decks plan to win well after turn 10.

Aggro decks are aggressive, and aim to take the board or otherwise deal damage to the opponent early, typically aiming to win by turn 7 at most.

Midrange decks fall in the middle of these two, with enough value generation to go into the late game, while having a decent early game presence. Midrange decks appropriately enough excel in the mid-game, hitting their stride around turn 4 and getting progressively stronger until turn 8 or so. They aim to win around turn 10 or a bit after, but can go longer.

Combo decks are any deck that aim to win in one burst using a combination of cards. Usually this is some kind of one turn kill effect (like Holy Wrath Paladin, or the Miracle Rogue of old), but is occasionally just creating oppressive enough board states that the opponent can’t deal with them (like Nomi Priest or the old Taunt Druid).

As well, I’ll be referring to Deck Tiers in this article. Typically these are tiered 1-4. Tier 1 decks being the best, Tier 4 being the worst of he popular decks. Any unique and weird decks that very few people actually play (or can’t crack a 40% or so winrate) theoretically fall into a phantom “Tier 5”.

I’ll exclusively be talking about Tier 1 and 2 decks here.

A Tier 1 deck is the best; it is in the highest winrate bracket for the current meta. Sometimes this is a “tier of one” if a deck is particularly unbalanced (say a single deck has a 60% winrate and no others do).

Tier 2 decks are a step lower than that. In short, Tier 1 decks are the best, but Tier 2 decks are very good.

Which brings us neatly around to the topic for today. When I say the meta is diverse, I mean the number of Tier 1 and 2 decks is quite large for the average meta, which is great for the game. And not only are the number of decks large, they are fairly close in winrate. The difference between the win percentage of the current best deck (Pirate Warrior) and the lowest Tier 2 deck (Embiggen Druid) is only around 4%.

By individual class, Warrior is currently the best performing class, with a pair of strong Tier 1 decks: Pirate Warrior and Galakrond Warrior (which tend to trade off the top spot). The former is a hardcore Aggro deck, while the latter trends closer to a Midrange playstyle.

Warlock comes in at second, with a powerful Tier 1 deck (Galakrond Zoolock, the second highest winrate currently) and a respectable Tier 2 offering (Handlock). The former is hard Aggro, and the latter strong Control.

Hunter trails a bit, carried by two decks that hover at the border between Tiers 1 and 2: Secret Highlander Hunter (the lowest winrate Tier 1 deck) and Face Hunter (one of the highest winrate Tier 2 decks), plus Highlander Dragon Hunter, a low Tier 2 deck. The first is distinctly Midrange, the second the most aggressive Aggro deck the game has seen in years, and the third another Midrange deck.

Shaman is still coasting by on the strength of Galakrond Shaman alone, a strong Tier 2 deck, and sadly the only viable deck Shaman has right now. The other popular decks are low Tier 3 and low Tier 4 (Aggro Overload and the Quest variant of Galakrond Shaman). That leaves Galakrond Shaman as their sole deck, and one hard to pin down in type; it is closest to a Midrange but verges on Control.

Rogues have on paper the most diversity of deck, with three quite powerful Tier 2 decks…but if you squint closely, there are really only two distinct ones: Deathrattle Rogue (in Galakrond and non-Galakrond variants) and Highlander Galakrond Rogue. All three are value based Midrange decks, with the Deathrattle variants having a bite of Combo to them.

Priest is the interesting wildcard here. Priest boasts some of the worst decks in this game right now. Pure Galakrond Priest just barely squeaks into Tier 4 (with a 40.01% winrate), and Combo Priest is a weak Tier 3. This artificially lowers Priest’s overall winrate below the deserved respect they should receive: the Tier 1 Quest Resurrect Priest is a powerhouse deck (the third strongest deck in the game right now by less than .5% behind Zoolock) that has favorable matchups against every class’ most popular decks, save Warrior and Rogue. It is the hardest of hardcore Control decks, and the only real one in the meta right now.

Druid is currently in a rough spot, with two Tier 2 decks: Token Druid and Embiggen Druid. Both are board based Aggro decks, though Embiggen toe the line between Aggro and Midrange.

Paladin (my favorite class, for reference) was much better before the meta shift, and has fallen on hard times, with a pair of decent Tier 2 decks: Mech Paladin and Pure Paladin. This gives it a strong board based Aggro deck and a solid Midrange deck to play around with.

Finally, we have poor Mage. It’s best deck is Tier 3 (Highlander Mage), a weird high roll-y Control deck, for lack of a better designation.

This gives us a distribution of viable decks that looks like this:

Aggro Decks: 5

Control Decks: 2

Midrange Decks: 9

Combo Decks: 0

As is apparent, the meta is currently dominated by midrange decks. This makes sense if you think about it; Face Hunter, Galazoolock, and Pirate Warrior are ruthlessly aggressive enough to rip apart most other aggro decks, and are actually potent enough to take down all but the staunchest Control decks (as can be seen with Handlock; it loses handily to face Hunter and has a slight advantage against the others mentioned).

This leaves the only recourse a hybrid strategy which can take down the highly effective aggro decks…while still not being stopped by the brick wall that is Quest Resurrect priest (which crushes Face Hunter and is solid against all of the other Aggro decks save Zoolock and Token Druid, which are slightly favored).

This tells us something beyond the deck designation: decks that are able to quickly and effectively produce wave after wave of minion are quite effective in the current meta, which is very board focused. There are no OTK combo decks above Tier 3 right now, and Face Hunter is the only class that reliably deals damage straight form their hand to your face.

He who controls the board, controls the game, making Midrange decks with good tempo swings (playing on curve, spending all their mana, and producing maximum value for resources used) the current dominant strategy. The Aggro decks that excel right now are very tempo oriented in the same way, and survive by being able to produce more value faster than the Midrange and Control decks can deal with.

So, pulling it all together, if you want to build a deck that survives in the current meta, build something that isn’t just fast, but consistent and most importantly able to take back tempo form the opponent. Having a couple of board clears in your deck is something you want, as are ways to refill the board quickly when and if it’s wiped; cards like Faceless Corruptor and other powerful Rush are consistently played in any deck that can run them; Devoted Maniac, Faceless Corruptor, Zilliax, and Scion of Ruin are all in the top 10 cards played daily.

Flexible Legendaries that do a lot of things at once, like Zephrys, Zilliax, and Siamat remain very powerful, and that goes double for cards that can be two-ofs in a  deck (Devoted Maniac in particular).

So when considering what new deck to build or try, or mulling over improvements to existing decks, make sure to keep in mind how much tempo, on average, a card you’re playing currently gives you, because your opponent (especially if they are a Warrior or Warlock) will be almost certain to punish any lapses in judgment on that part.

Where to Find Arenaria in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The white Arenaria flower is a useful resource in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You need it for a handful of valuable potions and oils to make fighting monsters easier in the game. But, locating the flower can prove a little tricky if you don't look for it early on in the game.

How to Find Arenaria in The Witcher 3

You can find Arenaria exceptionally early in the game. If you miss these opportunities, you have another chance to obtain it for the remainder of the game, but it's only in one place. These are the locations:

  • West of Woesong Bridge
  • From Tomira
  • From a Herbalist in Velen

The first two places are in White Orchard, the tutorial area of The Witcher 3. The natural Arenaria you can find in this area is right next to the town when you arrive at the Woesong Bridge signpost. You can fast travel here and then go to the tavern in the city. From there, proceed west until you arrive at the fields. You should find a handful of Arenaria white plants waiting for you to harvest.

West of Woesong Bridge to Find The Arenaria Flowers

After grabbing those, you can meet up with the local herbalist of White Orchard, Tomira. You'll encounter her eventually because you need her to do the main quest to complete the tutorial area and advance the game. If you ask her to see what she's selling, she'll offer you some when you view her list.

West of Lurtch in Witcher 3

The last reliable location to purchase Arenaria flowers is a herbalist in Velen, but you need to earn him. You'll need to liberate a village in the Velen. You will find it to the west of Lurtch. We the location displayed above for you to make it easy to locate. Go into the village, clear it out, and the herbalist arrives shortly after you to sell you those flowers if you have the coin. He will have 12 available.

How to Change League of Legends Client to Get Japanese Voices

Riot Games’ popular multiplayer online battle arena video game League of Legends was first brought to Japan with a beta in 2016. With an ever-growing player base and reach, many fans want to change the language in their client. However, the only languages currently available on the client - for most - consists of English, Deutsch, Español, Français, and Italiano.

The release of a new League of Legends launcher has slightly altered the method to change your client's in-game audio and text to Japanese. Nevertheless, it only requires a few easy steps.

  1. Navigate to the League of Legends folder
    1. Go To: "This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Riot Games > League of Legends"
    2. OR Right-click your League of Legends client
    3. Click Properties and select ‘Open File Location.’
  2. Right-click LeagueClient.exe’
  3. Click ‘Create a Shortcut’
    1. Users MUST create a Shortcut using the steps above
  4. Drag the Shortcut to your Desktop
  5. Add the Japanese locale to the Shortcut by:
    1. Right-click the newly created League of Legends shortcut
    2. Navigate to the ‘Target’ box, where it should say:
      1. “C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\LeagueClient.exe.”
    3. Add two spaces to the end of the string of text
    4. Then copy and paste:
      1. --locale=ja_JP
  6. Click ‘Apply,’ then click ‘OK.’

After following the steps above, the recently created Shortcut will launch League of Legends in the Japanese language. Almost everything, including text, voices, along with in-game chat and audio, will be changed over. However, players will still be on their respective region’s servers with the same ping to play without interruption. Users can also go back to their original launcher to switch back to English.

An often asked question and heavily requested fan feature is the possibility of changing either only the audio or text of the League of Legends client. Unfortunately, only changing the entire client’s language works - for now.

Nioh 2 Details Changes Made from Open Beta Feedback Ethan ChenTue, 01/07/2020 - 23:52

Team Ninja launched an open beta last month for the upcoming action role-playing game Nioh 2. Creative Director Tom Lee published a PlayStation Blog post thanking fans for providing feedback during this time. He then also covered the changes that would be implemented due to the responses.

“It was a tremendous learning experience for us as we carefully examined you guys playing the demo. We really appreciate the massive amount of responses submitted to our questionnaire after the playthrough,” stated Lee. “Our team has thoroughly read and reviewed everyone’s constructive feedback, and with that input, we are working diligently towards fine-tuning the build for the final game.”

Some of the open beta feedback includes player controls, enemy action, level design, character advancement elements, sound, and more. Team Ninja attached the key aspects that would be addressed in response to the feedback.

Nioh 2 Beta Feedback

An infographic showing data from the beta survey results is also provided. It features positive, average, and negative percentages for responses from categories like graphics, sound effects, game progression, and UI.

The largest area for negative feedback was from the Tutorial, User Interface, Game Progression, and New Feature areas. The Overall and Graphics categories tied with around half the negative responses as the top four. Finally, the Music & Sound Effects had the least.

Some of the key features being improved consist of:

  • Adjusting the balance of all Yokai Abilities
  • Strengthening several Yokai Abilities and making them easier to use
  • Modifications to control the level of punishments in the Dark Realm
  • Adding merits so that the maximum Ki damage is increased against enemy Yokai
  • Refining the overall management of the player’s Ki

Nioh 2 launches for the PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020.

Astral Chain Has "Sold Above Expectations," Says Director Takahisa TauraMisael DuranWed, 01/08/2020 - 01:27

Creating new intellectual property has become something of a rarity these days. A lot of things we consume in media are either a remake or sequel of a pre-existing property that we all know. It seems like original and fresh ideas can no longer thrive in today’s market, no matter what media.

However, there are exceptions, and sometimes, a new IP will show up out of nowhere and surprise everyone, and Astral Chain is one such exception. According to a Nintendo Everything, Astral Chain’s director, Takahisa Taura said in an interview (originally in Japanese) that he is pleased with the game’s sales. “Thankfully, Astral Chain has sold above expectations,” he says.

While no number was given, it is a positive outlook for Astral Chain. If sales are indeed above expectations, then a sequel is possibly for this hack-and-slash title.

We were impressed with Astral Chain, calling it “the anime police action game we didn't know we needed.” We were, however, unsure if the game would find a large enough audience; it was a completely new IP with no previous connections with other games.

Astral Chain is an action, adventure game developed by PlatinumGames, the same developers as Nier and Bayonetta. The game is about the last remnants of humanity taking shelter in a Megacity called “The Ark.” Players take control of one of two twins, who both work for a special Police Task Force that fights against strange monsters known as Chimeras. The police use unique Chimeras known as Legions to their fights against enemies and protect what’s left of humanity.

Nintendo has been releasing new IPs on their consoles for a while now, in tangent with their usual Mario and Zelda games, having a reasonable balance between the old and the new in their release schedule.

Splatoon was a completely new game that was released on the Wii U in 2015 and ended up being a big hit for Nintendo. They would later try to replicate that success by releasing other new properties on the Switch, such as Arms and Astral Chain.

Amiibo Tag Tournament Coming To Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Later This WeekMisael DuranWed, 01/08/2020 - 02:18

If you do happen to have a series of Amiibo just lying around, you may be able to finally have some use for them in an upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament.

Every so often, Ultimate will have an online tournament that people all over can join-in and compete. Generally, the tournaments have specific themes and are limited to certain characters and rules. For example, the Heavyweights tournament only allowed players to compete with the heaviest characters, like Bowser or Donkey Kong.

Japanese Nintendo posted that a new Tournament will begin on Jan. 10, called the Amiibo Tag Team Tourney, and the main theme of this tournament centers around players using their Amiibo.

Related: The Five Best Amiibo

Amiibo are figurines that fans can collect, and each Amiibo is capable of connecting to your Switch. If you connect your Amiibo to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, you can create a figure player AI. What kind of figure player you gain is determined what type of Amiibo you scan; for instance, if you scanned a Link Amiibo, you’ll get a Link figure player.

You can level up your figure player, who will copy your move set and style. You can then take your figure player everywhere with you by scanning it back into your Amiibo.

In the Amiibo Tag Team Tournament, you will need to partner up with an available figure player that you have in your possession. You can’t team up with other players; you need to form a tag team with your figure player.

Other rules for the tournament are that fights are normal Smash matches. There will be a two minutes and thirty seconds time limit. Final Smash Meter and items will also be made available during matches.

Generally, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments will last through the weekend.

How to Pick Up 5 Dropped Mushrooms Using a Driver With a Ribbon in Mario Kart Tour

You have a new series of challenges in Mario Kart Tour, and you need to complete it during a grueling race in the game. One you might have trouble with involves picking up five dropped mushrooms using a driver with a ribbon. You'll need to know how to drop those mushrooms, and then aim your driver to pick them up.

How to Pick Up 5 Dropped Mushrooms Using a Driver With a Ribbon in Mario Kart Tour

The first thing you need to focus on is choosing the type of driver you want to use who has a ribbon. These are the drivers you can pick from the current choices:

  • Wendy
  • Birdo
  • Peachette
  • Peach (Kimono)

Pick from any of these drivers to use for this challenge. You don't have a massive list available, but hopefully, you have access to one of them to complete it.

After you pick one of them, your goal is to pick dropped mushrooms. A straightforward way to finish this task is to use Peachette or Peach (Kimono) because their special skill is a Mushroom Cannon, which fires out mushrooms all over the course. You can pick these up and dash in front of the other drivers, and you only need five of them to finish the challenge.

Birdo and Wendy do not have the Mushroom Cannon ability, complicating the task if you have access to one of these two. The best strategy you have is to view the Favored Courses of Peachette and Peach (Kimono). You'll want to compete on these courses because other players may have unlocked these drivers, and the AI can use the Mushroom Cannon. If they do, you can pick up the dropped mushrooms on the track.

You'll need to stick close to the Peachette and Peach (Kimono) drivers during the race. You won't always drive against one every time, so there's a bit of luck and patience involved to compete against one of them. You don't need to grab all five mushrooms during a single race, granting you the chance to stretch it out to try and complete it multiple times.

Shenmue IV Coming "Very Soon," Says Ys Net Partner Studio

Shenmue IV Coming "Very Soon," Says Ys Net Partner StudioPaolo SirioWed, 01/08/2020 - 05:44

In a Facebook post shared in December 2019, Lakshya Digital, a studio that cooperated with Ys Net on animation and VFX for Shenmue III, hinted at a possible release of Shenmue IV in the future.

While it's far from a confirmation that a sequel is currently scheduled, the post reveals that the team at Lakshya was encharged with the making of "83 characters over a period of almost one year" for Shenmue III and that they "look forward to working on Shenmue IV very soon."

The choice of words looks way too specific to be just a wish. The studio claims they'll be working on the next chapter in Ryo's journey "very soon," and even the title, "Shenmue IV," not merely a generic follow up or any other game from Yu Suzuki really goes into details.

The post might be speculation only, but Suzuki himself, as a user posted on ResetEra, hinted at his will to craft a brand new game in the franchise in 2020 already. He said his keyword for 2020 is "a new project start," and that he wants "to leverage my know-how from Shenmue III and focus on planning a world with even more freedom."

The plan is already there for Shenmue IV, and the idea is to create "a world with even more freedom."

That looks expensive, and in the recent Ys Net had to work with an external publisher, Deep Silver, to afford the creation of an open world for Shenmue III; Kickstarter funds wouldn't have been enough. Could this also be a hint at Suzuki skipping crowdfunding this time and renewing his partnership with Deep Silver?

Last year we looked at Shenmue III's sales, and it didn't look like they could lead to another game in the franchise. Luckily enough for fans, though, it seems that the plan for a sequel is already in place and Suzuki might be allowed, despite a strong commercial performance, to fulfill his vision for the series.

Destiny 2's Wormgod Caress Has Been Disabled Due to a GlitchAidan O'BrienWed, 01/08/2020 - 05:53

Destiny 2 players have always been very good at finding glitched ways to do impressive amounts of damage. The most recent avenue to ridiculous damage numbers is a glitch with the Titan Exotic, the Wormgod Caress. The armors main perk is Burning Fists, which allows you to increase melee damage by scoring melee kills. Players discovered that they could build up the buff with some easy kills, then switch to another gauntlet, by changing back to the Wormgod Caress, the buff would then be kept active all the time.

Usually, when you fully stack the perk, you have four seconds to kill something before it resets, and you need to start building it again, but the gauntlet swap would allow you to keep it until you wanted to use it.

The results were suitably hilarious, as Guardians decided to use it to solo Raid Bosses. Some players combined it with other in-game buffs like One-Two Punch, a shotgun perk that will buff melee damage if you hit an enemy with every pellet from a shotgun. This is quite easy to do with larger enemies.

Bungie decided there was a bit too much free power involved, so disabled the Exotic in a recent patch. It can take Bungie a surprisingly long time to respond to these balance issues, as most people will remember when the Lord of Wolves ran roughshod over the dreams of PvP players. It would seem that they decided just disabling the Exotic was the route to go this time, but it is impossible to know when it will be active in the game again.
