Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Ships Four Million Units WorldwideMisael DuranWed, 01/15/2020 - 03:22

Monster Hunter: World’s success was already immeasurable, and the game continues to bring in the big dough for Capcom. The expansion pack, Iceborne, has now been proven to be ludicrously fruitful.

Back in October, it was announced that Monster Hunter: World has sold 14 million copies worldwide. It is the highest-selling title in the Monster Hunter series and is currently the highest-selling game published by Capcom.

Today, Capcom officially announced the sales figure for the Iceborne expansion pack. The Iceborne expansion has sold an estimated four million units worldwide. The number includes digital sales, and the Master Edition copies that gamers can purchase either physically or digitally.

The figure undeniably proves how versatility the Monster Hunter brand has become in the past few years and further showcases how far the series has come. Monster Hunter World’s success shines a bright future for Capcom, and we wouldn’t be surprised if other expansions will come to the game.

Monster Hunter: World is an action, role-playing game that was released in January 2018, on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was later ported onto PC. The game continues on the franchise’s premise of having players create their warrior avatar, and hunt down extraordinary monsters that can be scouted throughout the world.

The Iceborne expansion was released on Sept. 6, 2019, for PS4 and Xbox One, and on Jan 9, 2020, for PC. Iceborne introduces players to a new location known as the Hoarfrost Reach. It includes the return of fan-favorite monsters, the introduction of brand new monsters, a new “Master Rank” difficulty level, and new gameplay mechanics.

How to Cause Drivers to Crash 5 Times While Underwater in Mario Kart Tour

The races in Mario Kart Tour can become cutthroat. You want to take out drivers whenever possible to ensure you get ahead of them and keep the lead. You also want to complete any new challenges. One challenge focuses on attempting to make drivers crash while they're driving underwater.

There are specific race tracks you can perform this challenge on in the game.

  • Cheep Cheep Lagoon
  • Koopa Troopa Beach

You need to find the other driver completed submerged in water. It's unlikely if they are driving on the side of the beach, such as Koopa Troopa Beach, it would count. There are times during the Koopa Troopa Beach track you can find the drivers entirely underwater, but it's less likely than going with Cheep Cheep Lagoon.

There's a large section of the Cheep Cheep Lagoon track where all drivers are underwater at the same time if they're keeping with each other. When you reach this section, try to start as close to the main group as possible. Usually, you can get an item box spawn right before you dive in, but if you don't, you can attempt to drive up to one of the oysters and steal one of the item boxes inside their mouths. When you get it, your driver does a quick jump boost, so don't go too far ahead.

Luckily, you do not need to complete this challenge during a single race. If you need to do this multiple times doing the same Cheep Cheep Lagoon, go for it. The number of times you hit other drivers will add up, and when you hit the fifth driver, the badge pops up after your race.

How to Land 30 Hits with Bananas Using a Driver Wearing a Tie in Mario Kart Tour

How to Land 30 Hits with Bananas Using a Driver Wearing a Tie in Mario Kart Tour

Challenges show up every week in Mario Kart Tour, and they show no sign of stopping. There's one where you need to land 30 hits with any bananas while using a driver wearing a tie in the game. There are a limited amount of drivers you can pick from to complete this task.

Here's your list of drivers you can use to complete this challenge:

  • Donkey Kong
  • Mario (Musician)
  • Waluigi (Bus Driver)

These are the only three drivers you can use in this challenge. Of the three, you likely do not want to use Mario (Musician) because his frenzy ability has to do with using bom-bombs, not bananas. Donkey Kong has access to the giant banana item, which is a massive banana that sits in the track waiting for unsuspecting drivers to hit it. If they do it, it splits into three different bananas, increasing Donkey Kong's chance of hitting other drivers. Waluigi (Bus Driver) can summon triple bananas around him to bash into other drivers or toss on the track.

Regardless, any of these drivers can pass through an item box and have a banana spawn on their position. Throw it on the track and wait for a driver to ride over it. Luckily, you do not need to complete this challenge during a single race or on a specific track. However, you may want to double-check your driver's favored courses to find out the best ones to take them on while working on this challenge. If you take them to a preferred course, they have the chance to gain three items whenever they hit an item box, thus increasing your chances for more bananas to show up.

Keep throwing those bananas out and trying to disrupt unsuspecting drivers. For those who are good at discovering choke points, bananas are a great way to make turns extremely difficult to bypass.

Minecraft Console Commands and Cheats Guide

Minecraft Console Commands and Cheats GuideJohn HansenWed, 01/15/2020 - 04:43

Ready to get under the hood in Minecraft and start tinkering? The command line will let you tweak game settings, skip long walks, and spawn a variety of interesting and dangerous entities.

Inputting these commands is simple. While playing Minecraft, simply hit the forward-slash to bring up the chat window, and add your command after the slash. We’ll cover the basic usage for each, and the Gamepedia Commands page covers the more unique use cases.

For some of the commands listed below, you may also need the list of id codes for various blocks and status effects. You can find a full list of those codes on the Minecraft Wiki, which will differ depending on your version of the game. You can also use /Help to show the available commands for your platform, and /help followed by a command to see its parameters.

This is far from an exhaustive list of commands but provides a selection of useful and common commands that are broadly available on different platforms, with some basic use cases for each.

Inventory

Clear - If you need a way to wipe out your, or another player’s, inventory, the /clear command will do that in short order. You can simply type /clear for yourself, or add a space, then a player’s name, to erase their inventory.

Give - Instantly add an item to any player’s inventory, including yours, using the Give command. Put the player’s name first, the ID number of the item next, and the amount you’d like to give at the end.

Duplicate - This command copies and drops whatever you are currently holding.

Block manipulation

Clone - The clone command takes a snapshot of a specified region, and copies it to another set of coordinates. It requires at least three sets of X, Y, Z coordinates. The first two sets define the opposite corners of the area you’re copying from. The third set of numbers indicates the spot where the structure will be copied, starting at the lower northwest corner.

Fill - If you’d like to just create an area dense with a specific block, the fill tool makes that simple. After the command, fill in the X, Y, and Z coordinates, followed by the ID code for the block you want to use.

Instant mine - You can make your mining go much faster with this command that makes any tool break down blocks with a single hit.

Instant smelting - Use “/superheat” to turn all your items into their smelted forms.

Plants instantly grow - Use “/instantplant for a planted seed to grow without the use of bonemeal.

Player interaction

Effect - The Effect command has a number of uses, but the two most common are applying status effects to players or removing them. To apply an effect, simply add a player’s name and the ID code for any effect. To clear them, instead add the word “clear” after the player’s name, where the status ID would go.

Enchant - The Enchant command works just like Effect, except it applies an enchantment to the item the targeted player is currently holding, rather than the person themselves.

Kill - This one does just what it sounds like. You can use a player name or target a specific mob or NPC. If you don’t provide any parameters, the kill command will kill you instead.

Teleport and TP - These commands have some minor differences in parameter use, but they both have the same basic functionality -- moving players around. The most common use is teleporting yourself to another player or teleporting another player to you. Either way, the first name after the command should be the player you’re trying to move, and the second name is the player at the destination.

Target Selector - If you do not feel like typing an entire player’s name out, you can use the following shortcuts to affect them faster or add a little RNG madness to your world.

@p = nearest player
@r = random player
@a = all players
@e = all entities

World interactions

Difficulty - Monsters giving you trouble? The difficulty command lets you change the world’s difficult settings on the fly. The peaceful setting prevents any hostile mobs from spawning while bumping the difficulty to easy, medium, or hard will make the mobs deal more damage, and render the rules around eating and surviving more difficult. Minecraft has a hardcore mode, where dying causes the world to reset, but it isn’t available as an option here, you have to select it when you create the map.

Gamemode - While changing the difficulty will make your Minecraft world more or less forgiving, the Gamemode command lets you swap between survival, creative, adventure, or spectator mode. It’s great for editing your adventures, then testing them out, or switching to creative when you just need a few extra blocks.

Locate - Dropping the Locate command in chat will return the location of the closest structure. If you’re trying to quickly locate a village, mineshaft, or stronghold, this will tell you where to find it.

Playsound - This command lets you play any game sound, originating from any other player, including yourself. The first parameter is the sound itself, which is available either in the file in your game client or on the Minecraft wiki. If you’re playing the Java version, you’ll need to specify the audio source, as in master, ambient, music, etc. Finally, target a player for them to hear the noise or a position for it to come from. To stop it, use the same parameters, but with Stopsound instead of Playsound.

Freeze - Stop all mobs from moving

Fall Damage - Set fall damage on or off

Setworldspawn - Punch this command into chat to set the new spawn point for your world right where you’re standing. Alternatively, you can add coordinates on the end to specify a remote point. If you use the Spawnpoint command instead, you can set a player’s personal spawn point.

Summon - Use this command to summon any mob, or a variety of non-block items, into the world around you. You’ll need to use the Entity IDs, found on this Gamepedia page, to actually spawn in the correct mob or item.

Time - In lieu of an in-game clock, you can use the Time command to set the current game time, or just find out what time it is now. One of the most common uses is skipping over nighttime in creative mode, which you can do by entering Time Set 0, which will turn the clock to dawn instantly.

Stop time - If you are tired of constantly setting the time to your desired setting, use “/gamerule doDaylightCycle false” to stop time in its tracks. Replace “false” with “true” to reactivate the time cycle.

Weather - Too rainy for your tastes? The Weather command can change the weather around you by following the command with Clear, Rain, or Thunder. You can leave it blank to set it and let the weather change naturally or add a number of seconds for the downpour to last.

Atlantis - Are things a little too dry in your world? Use this command to raise the water levels so only the highest mountains in your server will be above water.

Server settings

Op and Deop - Use the Op command, followed by a player name, to promote them to Operator. This will allow them greater access to server commands and settings. If they start abusing their power, the Deop command will strip them of their titles and make them a regular player again.

List - The List command displays a quick rundown of all the players currently connected to the server.

Setmaxplayers - Need to let more people play with? Or maybe things are getting a little too crowded? This command will change the total number of players who can connect to you or your server.

Transferserver - Hop to another server without navigating back to the main menu using the Transferserver command. As long as you know the IP address, you’re good to go.

Keep inventory when you die - Use “/gamerule keepInventory true” to change the game rules to allow you to keep your inventory on your person when you die. To revert this, change “true” to “false”.

Chat

Me - A classic chat trope, the Me command, followed by a third-person statement, will simply share that you “did” that in chat.

Say - The Say command Broadcasts a message in chat to everyone currently playing on the server.

Tell - Whispering secrets? Follow up the Tell command with a player name, then the message, to send the message directly to them and no one else.

10 Best Pokémon Challenges

Rebekah McPhersonWed, 01/15/2020 - 05:06

Pokémon games usually are not that challenging. The concept of each entry stays the same. You travel the region, collect gym badges, and take on evil teams. Pokémon challenges have been created to make the games different and a bit more challenging. Many come to mind, such as Nuzlockes and not using Pokémon Centers at all.

Pokémon challenges are all about playing the games differently. Instead of playing how you would generally play a game, some rules and restrictions must be followed to complete the challenge. So what kind of challenges are fun to do? Here’s a look at 10 of the best Pokémon challenges.

10 Best Pokémon Challenges

Monotype

For this challenge, you are acting as an unofficial gym leader as you travel the region with the only Pokémon of the same type. Depending on which title you are playing, it can be an easy sweep or a hurdling road. PokéTubers, such as The4thGenGamer, did a challenge where he used only Dragon-type Pokémon. Whether it is a community vote, a randomized pick, or request, monotype runs offer a fun challenge that can range from shockingly easy to frustratingly hard.

To make the monotype run a stricter challenge, playing titles such as Diamond, Pearl or Platinum can offer an intense experience if one were only to use Fire-type Pokémon since there are not a lot of options throughout most of the game.

No Pokémon Centers

The Pokémon Center is the saving grace for many challenges, especially a Nuzlocke. But many players in the Pokémon community decided to amp up the difficulty by never being able to use a Pokémon Center. The only time that it would be used is the game’s tutorial, but once that is done and dealt with, your only healing options are to buy potions, revives, and find PP restoring items throughout the game. The first time you do this challenge might sound intimidating, but considering how generous the game can be with free items, this challenge is easier than it seems.

Gift Pokémon

Gift Pokémon is arguably the most straightforward challenge on this list. Depending on the game you’re playing, you can have a strong team with gift Pokémon that can evolve and have great stats and abilities. If you were to play Pokémon Emerald, for example, there are a limited number of Pokémon gifted to you, some of which aren’t given to you until you beat the champion, Steven. Some games such as Crystal and Yellow can offer you an advantage without having to catch a lot of Pokémon.

In-game Trades

Unlike gift trades, the requirements for in-game trades are dependent on what the NPCs want. There are some strong Pokémon you can get thanks to in-game trades. Still, the drawback from an otherwise exciting challenge is that the traded Pokémon gain more experience points, so when you are at a point where you are overleveled, the Pokémon will be disobedient, making the battles tedious and long. You might end up with only one traded Pokémon for a while until you can eventually get another one, so if you know how to strategize for when to battle or not, this is an exciting challenge to do.

Shadylocke

Created by famous PokéTuber ShadyPenguinn, the Shadylocke is a unique spin on the Nuzlocke with unusual quirks. It is a bit similar to the no Pokémon Center challenge, but with a small difference. When you beat a gym, you gain one shady token to use to heal at a Pokémon Center. You can use potions to heal HP, but cannot heal PP unless you use a token. If a shiny Pokémon is encountered, but you already caught a Pokémon in the same area, you may still catch it. And to make it more fun and chaotic, the game can be randomized so you can encounter different Pokémon as compared to a normal playthrough.

Soul Link

A Soul Link involves two players doing a Pokémon challenge together with the rules of the Nuzlocke applied, but the game can be randomized. If one player were to encounter a Pokémon in the wild, then the other player would have to confront a different Pokémon that is the opposite gender. So if the person ends up catching a male Pikachu, but if the second player encounters a different Pokémon but with the same gender, then they must do another encounter.

And depending on the RNG, if one were to lose their Pokémon in battle, then the Pokémon that’s linked to them is gone, even if they did not faint in battle. Wherever the Pokémon goes, that linked Pokémon must go with them.

Metronome Only

Metronome is one of the most random moves in all of Pokémon. This challenge mostly involves a Clefairy or Cleffable, and they must only use Metronome. The player can have a party of six Clefairys or Cleffables just in case they are at a disadvantage in areas such as the Elite Four. This is a challenge for those that are looking for a laugh as the Pokémon might end up using Explosion and make the player white out.

One Pokémon Only

Outside of Nuzlocke related challenges, the one Pokémon only challenge is one of the most popular challenges in the Pokémon community. YouTubers who do challenges like these will usually take requests from viewers that involve only using a single Pokémon, most of them being unevolved. The games need to randomize the starter Pokémon to progress through the game only with that Pokémon.

There are hilarious runs, such as using only Magikarp, Ditto, or Rattata. Soloing a game with one Pokémon is one thing, but many fans will remember a specific one that is unexpected or for the memes as these challenges are still going to this day.

Egglocke

If you do not want to do a normal Nuzlocke, then an Egglocke will spice things up. An Egglocke consists of the player playing any game that allows breeding (in this case generations two or higher), and for any Pokémon caught or received, they must replace that with an egg in the PC. If they obtained their starter, for example, then they will hatch the egg into whatever it becomes and level it up as the same level of the starter Pokémon.

Nuzlocke rules apply as usual, but if the player runs into shiny Pokémon in the wild, then they may catch it due to the shiny clause. Depending on the eggs you receive, you might get lucky or unlucky, but it is fun to figure out what the eggs are.

Nuzlocke

The Pokémon challenge that started it all, the Nuzlocke is the pivotal one of all. The name originated from a comic series of the same name and also came from John Locke, a character from Lost. For every captured Pokémon, the player must nickname it to “create bonds.” And Pokémon can only be caught once per area, so if the Pokémon runs away or faints, then there is no second chance for the area.

If the person whites out, then it is game over, and the player will have to start from the very beginning. The Nuzlocke run continues to be an optional run for many Pokémon players, and there are some fan-made Pokémon games that have Nuzlocke as an option for a playthrough.

"Prestigious Triple-A" Game in Development at Ubisoft Milan Could Be Mario + Rabbids 2Paolo SirioWed, 01/15/2020 - 05:27

Ubisoft Milan, the developer behind Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, has posted a job listing, making it public that it is looking for a 3D Animator for a brand new game currently in the works at its offices in Italy.

The job listing shares that the studio is searching for a "talented 3D Animator" who will be "involved in the production of a prestigious triple-A title."

While we don't have details about this "prestigious triple-A title," it's a definition that would well cover a sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a cross-over between Ubisoft's Rabbids and Nintendo's Mario franchise and characters.

Around ten hours ago, the job offer was also shared by creative director Davide Soliani on Facebook, which further links it with a likely sequel to Mario + Rabbids. "3D animators and 3D artists. I’m a sweet teddy bear, come to me," he said, and that also hints at a strict contact with him throughout the development process.

This isn't the first time Ubisoft Milan mentions a "prestigious triple-A title" to be in development at the studio. In 2018, another series of job listings said the same thing, meaning that this triple-A game has been in the making for at least one year at the Italian venue.

Last April, Ubisoft's founder and CEO Yves Guillemot has offered a comment about the chances that a sequel might be in the making, saying that "we can’t say much today, but we had a good relationship, so let’s see what will come."

The original game in the franchise has sold more than two million copies since August 2017's launch, which makes a sequel highly likely.

Subnautica has sold over 5 million copies, as revealed by Unknown Worlds' founder Ryan Cleveland in an interview with GamesIndustry International.

The figures take into account every version of the game launched since early access in December 2014, with the title that entered a full release state only in January 2018, four years later.

The total currently sits at 5.23 million copies, which cover PC on Steam and Epic Games Store, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

It's worth noting that these numbers don't include free downloads. Subnautica has been available for free for two weeks on Epic Games Store last year, and in that timeframe, it managed to reach an additional 4.5 million downloads.

"The free games have been a huge success, much bigger than expected," Epic Games' founder and CEO Tim Sweeney told GamesIndustry commenting the strong figure. "We've gone around working with game developers and paid them for the opportunity to release their games for free for two weeks. That's brought in a huge number of new gamers."

Subnautica offers a unique, often terrifying, underwater-based survival experience, unlike any other. With massive biomes to explore, creatures to encounter, and threats to be faced, it can feel like an eternal game.

There are plans already in place for a sequel, Below Zero, which is currently available, again, as an early access title on Steam. It launched in January last year and has yet to be completed but has been able to get a "very positive" reception on Valve's platform.

More Exclusive Games Coming to Epic Games Store in 2020Paolo SirioWed, 01/15/2020 - 06:11

Epic Games Store will keep growing its portfolio of exclusive games in 2020, CEO and founder Tim Sweeney has revealed.

In an interview with GameDaily, Sweeney has made it clear that its aggressive policy about exclusive games won't stop anytime soon. The strategy attracted much controversy in 2019 as it doesn't allow significant titles to be released on other platforms such as fan-favorite Steam,

"Securing exclusives for Epic means we can significantly assist developers with product funding and invest in marketing and awareness knowing that these efforts bring in new customers to our store, rather than just sending more business to the incumbent," he said.

The plans for 2020 exclusive games have yet to be fully outlined. Still, we do know that those will include the likes of Magic: The Gathering Arena, Predator: Hunting Ground, Auto Chess, Rogue Company, and Godfall, even though - similarly to Borderlands 3 - those will be available on Epic Games Store only for a limited time.

The limited-time exclusivity is usually six months or one year and, while this kind of operations has sparked a backlash among fans, it has been appreciated by developers. Wolfenstein's MachineGames commented last year that "competition is good for the industry. It’s good for everybody because competition just makes us be better," and that to him, it's a matter of remembering one more password, not that big deal.

The strategy has worked rather well for Epic Games. In its first year of business, the store has managed to earn $680 million from spending across 108 million PC consumers, with $251 million alone spent by players on third-party games from companies including Ubisoft, Rockstar Games, and Electronic Arts.

Free games had also been provided weekly in 2019, and it was just announced that the initiative is returning in 2020 with even more titles to be claimed and downloaded at no charge for users.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 1 Overtime Mission - Rippley Vs. Sludge

If you were wondering what you would be doing in Fortnite until the end of Season 1, then the latest update to the game has answered that question in the form of new Missions. Much like the Remedy Vs. Toxin mission, they will revolve around apparent tensions between the various Alter Ego skins in the game and will get you a new style for one of your Battle Pass skins if you manage to complete all the challenges.

Most of these are quite simple, but we will be working on location guides for any of the awkward ones, so make sure to check back if you need help when these go live in the game.

The reward for completing all these challenges is the rare Purple Rippley style for the Rippley skin.

  • Stage 1 - Reach Battle Pass Tier 80. Stage 2 - Complete the Cameo Vs. Chic Mission Objectives
  • Catch an item with a Fishing Rod at different locations with No Fishing Signs (0/3)
  • Consume an Apple, a Mushroom, and a Slurpshroom (0/3)
  • Search a Rare chest or supply llama (0/5)
  • Eliminations at different Named Locations (0/5)
  • Catch a fish at Lake Canoe, Lazy Lake, and Flopper Pond (0/3)
  • Visit a lonely recliner, a radio station, and an outdoor movie theater (0/3)
  • Get an elimination with an Assault Rifle, a Shotgun, and a Sniper Rifle (0/3)
  • Destroy a telescope, a television, and a telephone pole (0/3)
  • Search the hidden gnome found in between a race track, a cabbage patch, and a farm sign (0/1)
  • Dance at the top of Mount H7, Mount F8, and Mount Kay (0/3)

The reward is unknown right now, but we assume that it will be in line with the other Versus missions and will get you a new style for Cameo.

Where to Destroy Destroy SLURP Barrels, SLURP Trucks, or SLURP Silos in Fortnite

Where to Destroy Destroy SLURP Barrels, SLURP Trucks, or SLURP Silos in Fortnite

It's time for new challenges in Fortnite. Epic has blessed us with something to do in the last few weeks of Season 1, and we can even get some new loot from it. The Rippley Vs. Sludge mission is now live in the game, and one of the challenges is to destroy SLURP Barrels, SLURP Trucks, or SLURP Silos.

Slurpy Swamp Location

To finish this challenge, make your way to Slurpy Swamp. The SLURP factory there is packed with SLURP Barrels, SLURP Trucks, or SLURP Silos. To destroy them, you can use your harvesting tool, and if you are lucky enough to find an explosive weapon, they will make quick work of anything you need to destroy.

You can find two massive silos outside the factor, several trucks, and barrels strewn everywhere. The main thing to be careful of is how busy the area is right now, as everyone is trying to finish their challenges. Prepare to fight, a lot. Everyone is out to destroy these objects, so make sure you kill anyone you see before they can get some of the items that you need.

The good news is that you don't need to destroy all ten of the items that you need in one round, so if you die before getting them all, or the area is already picked clean, then you can always come back again. While you can find SLURP barrels in other areas, this is by far the quickest place to finish this challenge.

How to Easily Earn Gold Scavenger Medals by Searching Chests, Llamas, or Supply Drops in Fortnite

For Fortnite'sRippley Vs. Sludge mission, you will need to earn five Gold Scavenger Medals for one of the challenges. The task can be a little tricky, depending on where you drop in on the map. You will need to loot a total of twelve chests to earn a Gold Scavenger Medal, so you will want to drop in somewhere that can be quiet, but also has plenty of loot.

Castle Ruins Location

On the map above, you can see the marked location of a ruined castle. It is a great place to start your treasure hunt, as it is nearly always quiet and contains six chests, which instantly gets you halfway to your goal.

When you drop in, make sure to land on the roof, then grab the chest that spawns on the balcony. There are two more chests in alcoves within the main building, and three more dotted around the outskirts of the castle ruins. You can easily hear where they are by just running around.

When you have them all looted, make your way to Sweaty Sands, which is nearby. You can find two chests on the skateboarding course, then make your way into the nearest building and start searching for more. It won't take you very long to find them, as this is a high spawn area for chests, and you need to listen carefully for the sound that the chests make to track them down.

Remember, you are searching for chests, so you should be able to find plenty of Medi Packs. Save these in case the circle starts to shrink before you manage to get all twelve chests and use them to keep you alive while you search. Don't try to outrun the storm; commit to getting that Gold Scavenger Medal.

Where to Get Eliminations at Risky Reels, Fort Crumpet, or Hydro 16 in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Where to Get Eliminations at Risky Reels, Fort Crumpet, or Hydro 16 in Fortnite: Battle Royale

For Fortnite's Rippley Vs. Sludge mission, you will need to get eliminations at Fort Crumpet, Risky Reels, and Hydro 16. All these locations are Landmarks, so they are not marked on the map. We know where they all are and have marked them on the map below for you.

Risky Reels, Fort Crumpet, Hydro 16 Locations

  • FC - Fort Crumpet
  • RR - Risky Reels
  • H16 - Hydro 16

Risky Reels

Risky Reels is a popular location in Fortnite and is one of the areas that was brought back in Chapter 2. It can now be found close to the center of the map, to the west of Frenzy Farm.

Hydro 16

Hydro 16 can be found to the east of Slurpy Swamp and is right beside the giant hydro-electric dam.

Fort Crumpet

Fort Crumpet can be found to the north-west of Sweaty Sands and is a great location to start one of this week's other challenges where you need to get Gold Scavenger Medals

You only need to get five eliminations, and they can happen at any of the Landmarks, so you can get all five of them in the same location if you get lucky. I would suggest Risky Reels for this challenge, as it seems to be the busiest area right now. Hydro 16 tends to have medium player traffic, but that might kick up a bit while people are doing this challenge. Fort Crumpet tends to be very quiet, so it may not be the best place to hunt for eliminations.

This Apex Legends revival bug could be causing your downfall

This Apex Legends revival bug could be causing your downfallSam O'HaraWed, 01/15/2020 - 08:31

Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Predators has steadily been including more content for the game as time has gone on, while also staying free of any major bugs. However, players have recently begun reporting a bug that is causing unnecessary deaths more frequently.

The bug is in relation to revives, either of teammates or self-revives, where during the revive process, the timer could randomly reset back to the beginning, forcing players to start the revive again. This adds vital seconds to the revival process, which can be the difference between staying alive and an enemy team rushing you.

It’s currently not clear how much the issue is affecting all platforms, but it has definitely been confirmed on the console platforms as a growing concern.

Related: Why does Apex Legends have no more weekly challenges after week 13 in Season 3?

It has been a fairly infrequent issue previously, but it has been severe enough that players have questioned whether their controller is at fault when it would appear to be a game bug. A Reddit post by user VlauderLauder highlights an example of the bug in action. It shows a video of the player attempting a self revive, and with about one second left, the timer resets. The player has enough time to get up but is almost instantly rushed by the opposition.

Revive glitch is the most crucial problem right now, it needs an urgent fix from r/apexlegends

Many other users have confirmed that the issue is present in the thread. Some users even believed it may have been caused by user error.

The game’s third competitive season is currently winding down, but yesterday the devs launched the game's latest event, The Grand Soirée, adding new features and opportunities. However, there was no word on when the new season is due to begin, and no fix for the issue of revival was included in the patch.

Where to Search the Hidden Gnome Found in Between Logjam Woodworks, a Wooden Shack, and a Buck in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Where to Search the Hidden Gnome Found in Between Logjam Woodworks, a Wooden Shack, and a Buck in Fortnite: Battle Royale

For Fortnite's Rippley Vs. Sludge mission, search the hidden gnome found in between Logjam Woodworks, a Wooden Shack, and a Buck. The gnome will only appear in your game when you have completed the previous missions; you cannot jump ahead and get this until the others are done.

It has been a while since we had a good oldfashioned "search between" challenge in Fortnite, and it's nice to have an old classic return. If you don't want to spend forever running around trying to find the right location to find the gnome, then have no fear, we have you covered.

To find the gnome, you must first make your way to the Logjam Woodworks. It is located to the southeast of Holly Hedges, and the southwest of Weeping Wood. The area itself is a strange piece of swampland, so it's hard to miss when you get there.

Hidden Gnome Logjam Woodworks, Wooden Shack, Buck

You need to imagine the three locations make a triangle, and search within that triangle for the gnome. Fortunately, we know exactly where it is, and have marked the location on the map above.

Near the red arrow shown above, you will find a stone and a tree, and the gnome can be found right beside the tree. Remember, it won't appear until the challenge is active, so be sure to get through the previous challenges in the Rippley Vs. Sludge mission, or it won't be there in your game.

All you need to do is run-up to the gnome and search it, and then this challenge will be complete.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore Switch Review

Nintendo has been pretty focused on porting over its Wii U titles since the Switch came out a few years ago, with nearly its entire library of Wii U games including Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, and a string of other games (apart from the eye-raising omission of the insanely popular and well-received Super Mario 3D World) currently on the system.

In 2020, Nintendo is delighting fans with the weird and wonderful Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, now with "Encore" slugged onto the title, likely to keep fans entertained and their pockets drained before Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out in a couple of months.

While we could discuss aspects of the game that players of the original will already know and love, and rehash a lot that has been said already about the game, we want to instead focus mostly on the new additions within the title while briefly touching on what made it a great game to begin with.

A Refresher Course

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, a crossover competitive role-playing game made by Atlus, was released in 2015 for the Wii U and bought together the Shin Megami Tensei series and Fire Emblem.

You play as a band of humans fighting against hostile beings known as Mirages, who seek to steal an energy source known as Performa from residents of Tokyo. The story revolves around a group of teenagers who ally with friendly Mirages (who take the name and forms of famous Fire Emblem characters) to become Mirage Masters.

Only by working together in colorful RPG turn-based battles, and scouring the lairs of the evil Mirage, can you save Tokyo and find out the mysteries surrounding the disappearances of humans, and exactly what is going on.

The game is split up several gameplay elements. You walk around real-world locations of Tokyo to move the story forward, while also diving into areas known as Idolaspheres (essentially dungeons), were the nitty-gritty battles and RPG grinding takes place. You also have returning features, like the Unity and Battle Systems, that fans of the original game know and love.

Think of a mixture of Shin Megami Tensei/Persona battles with classic Fire Emblem leveling and stats (as well as jingles) in a world focused on idols, performances, and mystery, and you can almost come to terms with what the game is about.

Onto the New Stage

Just like with previous Wii U ports, Nintendo and Atlus have added a few, albeit smaller, extras into this rerelease.

The Switch version has a handful of small things to tide you over, such as a brand new EX Story, a new dungeon, a couple of new allies in battle, and a host of new tracks, but apart from that, you are mainly playing the same game as before.

There are a few extra costumes, too, and all the previous DLC from the Wii U version has (mostly) been packed into the Switch version. There are even nods to recent titles in the Fire Emblem series, such as new threads inspired by the Three Houses universe.

Without going into spoiler details on what all that is, there are at least a few new things to tide people who played the original over. In mostly remaining the same, many of the previous problems also see a return.

Same Game, Same Issues

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is something we could only class as an imperfect game that brings together two beloved franchises that really shouldn't have been bought together in the first place. What sounds like a fan's dream on paper was always going to be challenging to put into a game, but the devs over at Atlus really did outdo themselves with their choice of direction for the title.

The combat is fun and is Shin Megami's battle system in all but name. But the exploration and puzzle-solving sections are still pretty bland, drawn-out, and dull at the best of times.

The story is also your typical JRPG story, either, with a lot of question marks and poor explanations that don't really come together until the end. Everything just seems to happen, and we and the characters are meant to accept what is happening simply because, narratively, it’s “destiny.”

Frankly, it can be quite a bit of a mess at times.

The Curtain Call

In short, the Switch version of #FE is the same game you knew on Switch, with a few extra snippets to bring long-term fans back.

It likely won’t be the last of the Wii U ports, but it is still one of the best Wii U games from the previous generations. Fans of the older games looking to come back might find a kick from playing it again, but the game is really for those who never played the original and are looking to experience the game for themselves.

Where to Swim at Different No Swimming Signs in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season One

Swim at different no swimming signs is one of the challenges for 8-Ball Vs. Scratch mission in Fortnite. We can't say we agree with flaunting maritime safety, but just this once, we will show you where you can complete the task. Remember, you only need to swim at two of the signs, and you don't have to do them both in the same match so that you can take your time with this one.

No Swimming Sign Locations

On the map above, you will see the locations of four different no swimming signs. You can see what the signs look like in the main image above. It might be a good idea to drop in at the beach to the west of Sweaty Sands, swim at the sign, then head up to Fort Crumpet to start working on the Gold Scavenger Medal challenge that is part of the new Rippley Vs. Sludge challenges.

This challenge is not very difficult; all you need to do is find the sign, then swim in the water directly in front of it. Do this at two different signs, and the challenge is complete.

The rest of the 8-Ball Vs. Scratch challenges can be found below:

How to Sidegrade Weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale

How to Sidegrade Weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Fortnite’s sidegrading weapons feature has been added and the little upgrade station has a great new feature that is sure to get players excited.

The purpose of the new bench addition is to allow players to take weapons that are currently in their arsenal and allow you to “sidegrade” using some of the resources on your weapon, transforming it from a mild peashooter to a powerful face breaker.

Fortnite Sidegrading

As shown in the image above, you can use a number of resources to upgrade your weapons with more than one choice on offer, one with the upgrade and now with the option to sidegrade the weapon.

For an assault rifle, you can choose to take an option to go from a standard assault rifle to a heavy assault rifle with fewer resources. This would sidegrade the standard AR into the Heavy AR in game. You can also take the more expensive option to upgrade the rarity of weapons and make the one that you have much more powerful as was previously introduced.

The upgrade bench was already an incredibly helpful resource for anyone who has been struggling in the early game with good weapon qualities, but the sidegrading feature now helps with people looking to take their gun to the next set within a weapon class. The benches are spread throughout the map, and to use them is fairly simple.

Ensure that you have the resources to be able to make an upgrade to your weapon. Then, with the weapon that you want to see upgraded, approach the upgrade bench, which will look like the device in the image above.

From here, the game will offer prompts to be able to make changes to your weapon. From here, simply select the prompt for the upgrade that you want, and the game will then take the resources from your inventory and transform your old, bad weapon into a shiny, upgraded one. In this instance, picking the sidegrading option will allow you to sidegrade to the next level of quality.
